Gerber Scientific Inc.

Marc T. Giles has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Gerber Scientific since November 2001. Mr. Giles began his career with Gerber Scientific in November 2000 as a Senior Vice President of the Company and President of Gerber Technology, Inc. Before joining Gerber Scientific, Mr. Giles spent twelve years with FMC Corp., a producer of machinery and chemicals for industry and agriculture, where he served in a number of senior positions in sales and marketing management, strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, and general management. Mr. Giles serves on the board of directors of the Charter Oak Chapter of the American Red Cross and on the board of directors of Connecticut Business & Industry Association.

James S. Arthurs was appointed to the newly created position of President, Gerber Scientific, Asia Pacific, and named Non-Executive Chairman of Gerber Technology, effective February 2005. Mr. Arthurs was formerly President of Gerber Technology. He joined Gerber in 1980 and has held various positions over the years in sales and marketing with a focus in international marketing. Prior to joining Gerber, Mr. Arthurs spent eight years with The Singer Company as Director of Credit, International Group, based at European Headquarters in Germany, and then at World Headquarters in New York City. Prior to that, he spent six years in marketing, distribution and finance with Gallaher Ltd., a U.K.-based tobacco products company.

Joseph R. Mele joined Gerber Scientific, Inc. in January 2008 as Senior Vice President, Operations. Mr. Mele was previously a partner with Lean Horizons Consulting, specializing in enterprise-level lean implementations for Fortune 500 clients. He has twenty-six years experience in high technology aerospace and commercial manufacturing, including seventeen years with United Technologies' Sikorsky Aircraft Division, where he played a pivotal role in Sikorsky's lean transformation. Mr. Mele was also a partner with Accenture, where he consulted global high technology manufacturing firms in planning and execution of end-to-end business transformations.

Rodney Larson was appointed Senior Vice President of Gerber Scientific, Inc. and President of Spandex, Ltd., based in Brussels, Belgium, in July 2007. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Larson was President of Gerber Coburn - a position he held since March 2006. Prior to joining Gerber, he was Vice President of Key Technology, Inc., a provider of process automation systems where he led sales, marketing, and customer service activities. He began his career with engineering roles at Dow Chemical and Rogers Corporation. Subsequently, he spent 11 years with FMC Corporation where he held various management roles, including President of Frigoscandia Equipment, Inc.

William V. Grickis, Jr. joined Gerber Scientific, Inc. in October 2003 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. He was formerly Vice President and General Counsel of Agion Technologies, LLC, Wakefield, MA, a privately held biotech company. Before joining Agion, he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Barnes Group, Inc., Bristol, CT, a leading manufacturer of complex metal components and precision springs for industrial, automotive, and aerospace markets and a major distributor of MRO products to industrial and transporation markets. Prior to his career at Barnes Group, he spent 16 years at Loctite Corporation serving as Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary. Grickis holds a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law, Syracuse, NY and a bachelor s degree from Brown University, Providence, RI.

John R. Lord has served as a Director since 2003. Mr. Lord served as the non-executive chairman of Carrier Corporation from January 2000 until April 2006. Mr. Lord was president and CEO of Carrier Corporation from April 1995 until his retirement in January 2000. Carrier Corporation, a division of United Technologies Corp., is the world’s largest manufacturer of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment. Mr. Lord currently serves as a director of Amphenol Corporation. He serves on the Company’s Audit and Finance Committee and its Management Development and Compensation Committee.

RANDALL D. LEDFORD, 56, was elected to the Board of Directors in 2001. Mr. Ledford is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Emerson Electric Co., a position he has held since 1997. He serves on several CTO boards and forums both in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Ledford is a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee and is Chairman of the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. back to top ^

Stanley Simon, a member of the Company’s Board from 1967 to 1997, serves as a director emeritus. Mr. Simon is the founder of Stanley Simon and Associates, a financial and management consulting firm.
