Dr. Robert J. Barbera is Executive Vice President and Chief Economist at ITG, Investment Technology Group. He is responsible for ITG’s global economic and financial market forecasts. Dr. Barbera has spent the last twenty-six years as a Wall Street economist, earning a wide institutional following. He is a frequent guest on CNBC and is regularly quoted in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
In 2009, Dr. Barbera authored The Cost of Capitalism: Market Mayhem and Stabilizing Our Economic Future. The book identifies the root causes of the Great Crisis of 2008. It also identifies key policy prescriptions for economic recovery and offers commentary about the shape of capitalism in the decades to come.
Dr. Barbera currently is a Fellow in the Economics Department of The Johns Hopkins University. He has been teaching applied macroeconomics at Hopkins for the last five years.
Early in his career, Dr. Barbera served as a staff economist for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas and as an economist for the Congressional Budget Office. Dr. Barbera also lectured at M.I.T. From mid-1994 through mid-1996, he was Co-Chairman of Capital Investment International, a New York based research boutique.
Dr. Barbera earned both his B.A. and Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University.

Howard Naphtali is Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Naphtali joined ITG in 1997 from Reuters America, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer as well as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Quotron Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reuters.
Andrew Larkin is a Managing Director responsible for ITG’s global desktop business, including order management and execution management services. He rejoined ITG in 2005 from Morgan Stanley, where he was Executive Director in the electronic trading group. Previously, he served as a Director responsible for east coast sales and trading at ITG. Mr. Larkin began his career at Salomon Brothers.
Tony Huck is a Managing Director and Co-head of ITG's sales and trading group. In this capacity, Mr. Huck is responsible for ITG's electronic trading services. Mr. Huck joined ITG in 1994 as a Vice President responsible for portfolio trading. Prior to ITG, Mr. Huck managed domestic and international program trading in the equity derivatives group at Nomura Securities International.
Chris Heckman is a Managing Director responsible for the POSIT® suite of products, sales and trading coverage teams and business development. Mr. Heckman began his tenure at ITG in 1991 as a sales trader and later became the manager of institutional sales and trading. Prior to joining ITG, Mr. Heckman was with Salomon Brothers, working in the equity program trading group in New York and Tokyo.
David Meitz is a Managing Director responsible for software development, technology and trading support services, and information security. He joined ITG in 2002 from Reuters America, where he was an Executive Vice President responsible for consulting and client site services. Mr. Meitz previously held technology and customer service management positions at Citibank and Quotron Systems.
Mark Wright is a Managing Director and the Global Head of Product Management. He joined ITG in 1992 and has held several roles including manager of the software development organization for ITG and chief information officer of the company. Previously, Mr. Wright was a Director of software development at Inference Corporation.
Mats Goebels is Managing Director, General Counsel and Secretary of ITG. In this capacity, Mr. Goebels is responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory matters. Before joining ITG in 1998, he held positions as a corporate attorney in the New York offices of Sullivan & Cromwell and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Maureen O’Hara has been the Chairman of our Board of Directors since May 2007 and a director since January 2003. She was our Lead Director from January 2005 until May 2007. She is the Robert W. Purcell Professor of Finance at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University. She holds degrees from the University of Illinois (B.S. Economics) and Northwestern University (M.S. Economics and Ph.D. Finance). In December 2006, Ms. O’Hara joined the board of directors of NewStar Financial Inc. Ms. O’Hara joined the faculty at Cornell in 1979. She has had visiting appointments at UCLA, the London Business School, the University of New South Wales, Cambridge University, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Ms. O’Hara’s research focuses on issues in market microstructure, and she is the author of numerous journal articles as well as the book Market Microstructure Theory (Blackwell: 1995). In addition, Ms. O’Hara publishes widely on a broad range of topics in finance, including banking, law and finance, and experimental economics. She has served as President of the Western Finance Association and recently served as President of the American Finance Association.
Maureen Murphy is a Managing Director overseeing marketing, corporate communications and investor relations. In this role, she is responsible for ITG’s communications strategy and marketing program. Ms. Murphy joined ITG in 2004 from eSpeed. Previously, Ms. Murphy was a Vice President and Senior Research Analyst covering financial markets and technology at Lehman Brothers
Maureen O'Hara is the Robert W. Purcell Professor of Finance at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University, where she joined the faculty in 1979. She has served as President of the Western Finance Association and recently served as President of the American Finance Association. Ms. O'Hara currently serves on the Board of Directors of Investment Technology Group, Inc., where she has been lead director since January 2005 and where she has served on the Compensation Committee, Audit Committee and Nominating Committee. Ms. O'Hara received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and her masters of science in economics and Ph.D. in finance from Northwestern University.
Angelo Bulone is a Managing Director and Controller at ITG. In this capacity, Mr. Bulone is responsible for ITG’s accounting operations, including corporate tax, treasury, financial management information systems, risk management, and financial and regulatory reporting. Prior to joining ITG in 1997, Mr. Bulone held the position of Vice President and Controller at I/B/E/S International, Inc.
Alan Herzog is a Managing Director in charge of ITG’s hedge fund services. Mr. Herzog also serves as Director of Corporate Risk Management at ITG. Mr. Herzog was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Hoenig prior to its integration with ITG in 2002. Before joining Hoenig in 1982, Mr. Herzog held positions at Paine Webber and Arthur Andersen.
Stephen Alepa is a Managing Director leading ITG’s financial network business. Mr. Alepa was an Executive Vice President at Macgregor prior to its acquisition by ITG in 2006. Before joining Macgregor, he was a partner in Arthur Andersen’s financial services practice and held senior positions at Coopers & Lybrand and Andersen Consulting.

Brian J. Steck has been a director since September 2004. Mr. Steck is currently President and Director of St. Andrews Financial Corp., a private financial and investment company and he has served as an advisor to Harris Bank since 2005. Mr. Steck also serves as Chairman of the Board of Purolator Courier and as a director of Dundee Precious Metals Inc. and CMA (Canadian Medical Association) Holdings Inc. Mr. Steck was Chairman and CEO of Nesbitt Burns Inc. and its subsidiaries from 1990 until his retirement in 1999. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Bank of Montreal, responsible for wealth management and investment banking from 1992 to 1999. Mr. Steck is past Chairman of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, the Canadian Securities Institute, the Canadian District of the Securities Industry Association of America, and past Governor of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
J. William Burdett has been a director since July 2001 and was non-executive director of ITG Australia Ltd., a subsidiary of ITG between December 2006 to April 2007. In 2006, Mr. Burdett joined the board of IRESS Market Technology Ltd., a leading provider of market data, financial planning and order routing services to the equities markets in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. From 1988 until March 2001, Mr. Burdett was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Burdett Buckeridge Young Group (”BBY”), which is comprised of the two Australian broker/dealer companies; BBY and Australian Clearing Services. From 1970 until 1987, Mr. Burdett was a partner and director of A.C. Goode & Co., one of the largest stock-brokering/investment banking companies in Australia. Mr. Burdett was a non-executive director of BBY and ITG Australia Ltd. from November 2000 through November 2002.
Bob Gasser is Chief Executive Officer and President of Investment Technology Group. Mr. Gasser was previously CEO at NYFIX, Inc. until his appointment at ITG in 2006. Before joining NYFIX, Mr. Gasser was Head of U.S. Equity Trading at JP Morgan. Concurrently, Mr. Gasser served on the Board of Directors of Archipelago Exchange as well as on the NASDAQ Quality of Markets Committee and the NYSE Upstairs Traders Advisory Committee.
Timothy L. Jones has been a director since March 2005. Since October 2007, Mr. Jones has been Chief Executive Officer and director of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority, an advisory non-departmental public body of the Department for Work and Pensions within the United Kingdom government. From December 2002 to January 2005, Mr. Jones was the Chief Executive Officer of Simpay Limited, a mobile phone payment system company. In November 2004, Mr. Jones joined the board of Groves Malthouse Management Limited, a real estate management company. Mr. Jones co-founded Purseus, a company developing a new architecture for correspondent banking, and was Chief Executive Officer of Purseus from April 2000 to November 2002. Prior to that, for 17 years, Mr. Jones was at National Westminster Bank PLC where he held various positions in the Operations, Information Technology Strategy and Policy, Mondex, Electronic Markets and Retail Banking Services divisions, eventually becoming a Managing Director in 1996 and Chief Executive of the retail banking division in 1999.
