Lam Research

Stephen G. Newberry was appointed president and chief executive officer of Lam Research in June 2005. He joined Lam Research in August 1997 as executive vice president and chief operating officer and was promoted to the position of president and chief operating officer in July 1998. Mr. Newberry currently serves as a director of Lam Research, Amkor Technology, and SEMI, the industry's trade association. Prior to joining Lam Research, Mr. Newberry was group vice president of global operations and planning at Applied Materials, Inc. During his 17 years at Applied Materials, he held various positions of increasing responsibility including assignments in manufacturing, product development, sales and marketing, and customer service. Mr. Newberry served five years in naval aviation prior to joining Applied Materials. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Harvard Graduate School of Business.

Ernest E. Maddock was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of Lam Research in September 2008. Additionally, Mr. Maddock heads Bullen Semiconductor, a division of Lam Research. Since October 2003, Mr. Maddock held the position of senior vice president of Global Operations at Lam Research, overseeing Information Technology, Global Supply Chain, Production Operations, Corporate Quality, Global Security, and Global Real Estate & Facilities. Mr. Maddock also held the position of vice president of the Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) with the Company. Mr. Maddock joined the Company in November 1997. Prior to his employment with Lam Research, Mr. Maddock was managing director, Global Logistics and Repair Services Operations, and chief financial officer, Software Products Division, of NCR Corporation. He has also held a variety of executive roles in finance and operations in several industries ranging from commercial real estate to telecommunications.

Martin Anstice was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of Lam Research in September 2008. Mr. Anstice joined Lam Research in April 2001 as senior director, operations controller. He was promoted to the position of managing director and corporate controller in May 2002, and was promoted to chief financial officer in June 2004. Mr. Anstice began his career at Raychem Corporation where, during his 13-year tenure, he held numerous finance roles of increasing responsibility in Europe and North America. After Tyco International, Ltd., acquired Raychem in 1999, Mr. Anstice assumed responsibility for supporting mergers and acquisitions at Tyco Electronics Corporation. Mr. Anstice is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom.

Chet has 30 years of work experience in the areas of process improvement and financial management. He has Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Accounting as well as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. He has held management positions at KPMG Peat Marwick, Coopers & Lybrand and Hewlett Packard Co. During the past three years he has been a key consultant-trainer in assisting GE Capital in the implementation of their Six Sigma Quality Initiative which resulted in more than $300 million of increased profits during that period. Currently he is working with Applied Material and Lam Research in their supplier development initiatives.

Elton has 23 years' experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry and has worked at Lam Research for 13 years. Asked for his reasons for becoming part of the Metryx Advisory team, Elton comments: "Metryx has truly unique measurement technology and offers production solutions to metrology problems which cannot be solved by any other techniques. I am thrilled to be able to offer my assistance and experience to what I believe will be a very successful company".

George has over 25 years' experience in the development and financing of emerging growth companies, primarily located in the northwestern United States. He is a founding general partner of OVP Venture Partners (Seattle), the leading institutional venture capital fund based in the northwestern United States with committed capital exceeding US$500 million. Prior experience includes corporate finance and corporate banking positions with The First National Bank of Chicago, Rainier National Bank and with a large equity hedge fund involved in a wide range of investments. George has been involved in the financing of over 200 companies. Historical company involvement includes the following: Advanced Technology Laboratories (acquired); @Mobile (acquired); Coinstar, Inc. (NASDAQ); Data I/O (NASDAQ); Delrina (NASDAQ); Lam Research (NASDAQ); Laserscope (NASDAQ); Logic Automation (acquired); and Xilinx (NASDAQ). George is a past director of numerous companies including Foundstone, Inc. and the Washington Software Alliance and is currently a director of Isothermal Systems Research, Inc. George received his AB and MBA from UCLA.

Mark Drummond also joined Positive Energy as an owner in August of 2004. He has been a hobbyist in photovoltaic technology since he was attracted to renewable energy and sustainable development concepts in the late 80's. Mark earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University in 1994 with the hopes of working with PV systems as a career. Because the solar industry was not developed enough to offer gainful employment at the time he graduated, he opted for employment in the semiconductor industry. After working as a Field Service Engineer for Lam Research for eight years, the economic downturn led to the loss of his job, and the opportunity to seek employment doing what he always wanted to do. Mark moved himself and his family to Farmington, New Mexico in the summer of 2003 to complete the Renewable Energy Certificate program at San Juan College. Mark has since become a NABCEP certified PV installer and is working on becoming a residential electrical jorneyman.

Over 20 years industry experience, including process research and development and software and controls engineering as VP of Engineering and Technology for Timbre Technologies (a TEL company), and Senior Director of Software/Controls for Speedfam-IPEC. Mark holds patents in both the software and process controls area and has architected and developed software and control systems for numerous OEM manufacturers including: Advanced Logical Solutions, Ilex, Ontrak, Lam Research, Peak Systems and Gasonics/IPC.

Catherine P. Lego is Managing Partner of The Photonics Fund. Ms. Lego brings to her portfolio companies her expertise in the telecommunications field, as well as financial and corporate management skills, gathered during her two decades of involvement in venture investing. Prior to forming The Photonics Fund, Ms. Lego established Lego Ventures in 1992 to provide consulting services to early stage electronic companies by helping them develop business plans, obtain seed and expansion financing and support strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions. During this time, she was a consultant and member of the board of directors of Uniphase Corporation until it was merged with JDSFitel in July 1999. From 1981 through 1992 she was a General Partner at Oak Investment Partners, and focused her investing in the telecommunications, semiconductor and semiconductor equipment markets. Ms. Lego invested in and advised a number of technology companies including MicroLinear, Vitesse, AMCC, Vitelic, WSi and SanDisk. Prior to Oak, Ms. Lego was a CPA with Coopers and Lybrand for three years. She received her M.S. from NY University School of Business in 1979 and her B.A. from Williams College in 1978. Ms. Lego currently sits on the Boards of Directors of SanDisk Corp. and two private photonics companies, Phaethon Communications and Tsunami Optics.

David has spent his entire professional career investing in private and public technology companies. In 1968, he joined the group which became Citicorp Venture Capital Limited ("CVC") in New York. He established CVC's West Coast Office in 1973 which served as the focus of CVC's investing activities in the western United States for over 15 years. In 1988, David formed Compass Management Partners ("CMP"), which in turn organized Compass Technology Partners and Compass Technology Group.

Mr. Inman became a director of Wind River in June 1999. He is the founder and General Partner of Inman Investment Management, a private venture capital investment company formed in 1998. Prior to 1998, he cofounded and was General Partner of Inman & Bowman, a venture capital firm formed in 1985. Mr. Inman serves as a director of Lam Research Corporation, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer, and Paychex, Inc., a payroll and human resources outsourcing services company; and he is a trustee of the University of California, Berkeley Foundation. Mr. Inman holds a BA in economics from the University of Oregon and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jack Harris has more than 35 years of experience in the semiconductor and semiconductor equipment industries. He is currently chairman and a director of Innovative Robotics Solutions and of HT, Inc. For the past 19 years, he has served as a director of Lam Research and continues to serve as a director of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. Previously, Mr. Harris served as chief executive officer of Cobilt, Acrian and OSI.
