We are a leading and diversified for-profit provider of career-oriented post-secondary education as measured by total enrollment. We offer recent high school graduates and working adults degree and diploma programs in five areas of study: automotive technology, health sciences, skilled trades, business and information technology and hospitality services. For the year ended December 31, 2008, our automotive technology program, our health science program, our skilled trades program, our business and information technology program, and our hospitality services program accounted for approximately 35%, 32%, 14%, 9%, and 10%, respectively, of our average enrollment. We had 21,667 students enrolled as of December 31, 2008 and our average enrollment for the year ended December 31, 2008 was 20,006 students, an increase of 13.1% from our average enrollment of 17,687 for the year ended December 31, 2007. For the year ended December 31, 2008, our revenues were $376.9 million, which represents an increase of 15.0% from the year ended December 31, 2007. Excluding our acquisition of Briarwood College, or BRI, in December 2008, our revenues and average enrollment would have increased by 14.7% and 13.0%, respectively, compared to the year ended December 31, 2007. Deborah Ramentol has held various management positions with us since joining us in 1974. Currently, she oversees the operations of eight schools. She has served on the Administrative Board of the Private Career School Association of New Jersey for 11 years. Scott M. Shaw joined us in 2001 and currently serves as our Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to taking this position, Mr. Shaw served as Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development. Prior to joining Lincoln, Mr. Shaw was a partner at Stonington Partners, Inc., where he had been since 1994. As a partner at Stonington, Mr. Shaw was responsible for identifying, evaluating and acquiring companies and then assisting in the oversight of these companies through participation on the board of directors. In addition, Mr. Shaw worked closely with senior management to develop long-term strategic plans, to evaluate acquisition and new investment opportunities, to assist with refinancings, and to execute on the final sale of the company either to the public or to another company. Mr. Shaw also served as a consultant to Merrill Lynch Capital Partners Inc., a private investment firm associated with Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. from 1994 through 2000. Hugh Evans is a Partner at Veritas Capital. Prior to joining Veritas in 2005, Mr. Evans was a Partner at Falconhead Capital, a middle market private equity firm. While at Falconhead, Mr. Evans was responsible for sourcing and executing transactions and was a member of the firm's investment committee. Prior to Falconhead, Mr Evans was a Principal at Stonington Partners, a $1.0 billion private equity firm, where he was responsible for the firm's investments in Lincoln Educational Services and Javelin Communications. Peter S. Burgess, CPA has served on our board of directors since 2004. In 1999, Mr. Burgess retired from Arthur Andersen LLP where he was an accounting and business advisory partner serving numerous manufacturing, insurance and financial services enterprises. Following his retirement, he has provided consulting services specializing in litigation support, mergers and acquisitions and audit committee responsibilities under securities exchange requirements and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Carney joined us in 1999 as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the board of directors, prior to which he served as a consultant following the sale of his two school companies to Computer Learning Centers, Inc. John Petillo has served on our board of directors since 2004. Dr. Petillo is currently the President of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. During his career in the education industry, Dr. Petillo served as Chancellor of Administration for the Archdiocese of Newark where he was responsible for over 240 parishes and 200 schools. In addition, he served as Chancellor of Seton Hall University for 13 years as well as President of Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Mr. Glaske retired as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Bird Corporation, the largest manufacturer of school buses with manufacturing plants in three countries.
