Paul E. Freiman is Chairman of the Board of Penwest. He is also President and Chief Executive Officer of Neurobiological Technologies, Inc. (NTI). He is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Syntex Corporation (Syntex), where he had a long and successful career and was instrumental in the sale of Syntex to Roche Holdings for $5.3 billion. He is credited with much of the marketing success of Syntex's lead product, Naprosyn, and was responsible for moving the product to over-the-counter status, marketed by Proctor & Gamble as Aleve. Mr. Freiman currently serves as chairman of the board of SciGen Pte. Ltd. and also serves on the boards of Calypte Biomedical Corporation, NeoPharm Inc., NovaCal Pharmaceuticals, PHYTOS Inc. and Otsuka America Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He has been chairman of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of America Association (PhRMA) and has also chaired a number of key PhRMA committees. Mr. Freiman holds a B.S. degree from Fordham University and an honorary doctorate from the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy.

Mr. Becker joined the Board in November 2004. Mr. Becker is currently the President and a partner at Greenfield Chemical, a pharmaceutical consulting and sourcing company, which he founded in January 1998. From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Becker served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Sicor Pharmaceuticals, a maker of injectable pharmaceuticals. Mr. Becker is a partner in Southport Marina Development LLC, a firm operating Southport Marina in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Prior to the foregoing relationships, Mr. Becker spent over 35 years at Abbott Laboratories, most recently as Vice President of Process Research and Chemical Manufacturing. Mr. Becker also serves on the Board of Directors of Regis Technologies, a provider of synthesis and separation services. Mr. Becker received his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University.

John N. Kapoor is a co-founder of Insys and has served as the Chairman of our board of directors since our inception. Dr. Kapoor has served as the President and Chairman of the board of directors of EJ Financial Enterprises, since forming the company in 1990. Dr. Kapoor is also the Managing Partner of Kapoor-Pharma Investments, an investment company that he founded in 2000. Dr. Kapoor serves as the chairman of the board of directors of Akorn, a publicly traded specialty pharmaceutical company, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from March 2001 to December 2002 and from May 1996 to November 1998. Dr. Kapoor also serves as the chairman of the board of directors of Option Care, a specialty pharmaceutical services company, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from August 1993 to April 1996. In addition, Dr. Kapoor serves as chairman of the board of directors of NeoPharm and serves as a member of the board of directors of Introgen Therapeutics, both publicly traded biopharmaceutical companies. Dr. Kapoor received his Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a B.S. in pharmacy from Bombay University in India.

Mr. Birch joined DATATRAK's Board of Directors in 2007. He expanded his leadership role in the company by assuming the role of Chairman in May of 2008 and ultimately became DATATRAK's Interim President and CEO in January of 2009. In addition, Mr. Birch serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of NeoPharm, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company. Prior to joining NeoPharm, Mr. Birch served as CEO and President of AKSYS, Ltd., a hemodialysis developer and manufacturer from 2005 to 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Birch served as co-founder and managing director of Stratego Partners, a cost management consulting firm, from 2003 to 2005, Sr. Vice President-Business Development and CFO of Technology Solutions, Inc., a systems integration and consulting company, during 2002, CFO of Brigade, Inc., an internet support company, from 1999 to 2000, and five years with MCI Systemhouse where he held a variety of senior finance and general management positions. Mr. Birch began his career with Baxter Healthcare, a manufacturer and supplier of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, where, over the course of 13 years, he held a variety of positions. Mr. Birch holds a Bachelor of Science-Finance from the University of Illinois and a MBA from Northwestern University-Kellogg Graduate Business of Management. Mr. Birch is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Laurence P. Birch. Mr. Birch has been a Director since April 16, 2007, the Chairman of the Board of Directors since May 15, 2008, and effective January 21, 2009, was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer. Since March 2007, Mr. Birch has been serving as the President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of NeoPharm, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the research, development and commercialization of new and innovative cancer drugs for therapeutic applications, and was also appointed Acting Chief Financial Officer in April 2007. Prior to joining NeoPharm, Mr. Birch served as Sr. Vice President and CFO, and Interim President and CEO, of AKSYS, Ltd., a hemodialysis developer and manufacturer from 2005 to 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Birch served as co-founder and managing director of Stratego Partners, a cost management consulting firm, from 2003 to 2005, Sr. Vice President Business Development and CFO of Technology Solutions, Inc., a systems integration and consulting company, from 2000 to 2002, CFO of Brigade, Inc., an internet support company, from 1999 to 2000, and five years with MCI Systemhouse where he held a variety of senior finance and general management positions. Dr. Ali joined NeoPharm in January 2001, as Associate Director of Research and Development, and assumed the position of Executive Vice President, Research and Development in September 2007. Since joining the Company, Dr. Ali has held positions of increasing responsibility in Research and Development. Previously, Dr. Ali was a Group Leader at EpiGenesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. where he directed pre-clinical program for antisense oligonucleotide based therapeutic intervention in pulmonary diseases including bronchial asthma. Prior to EpiGenesis, Dr. Ali spent 10 years at the School of Medicine, East Carolina University, most recently serving as an Associate Research Professor in the departments of Medicine/Pharmacology. Dr. Ali received his M.S and Ph.D degrees from Lucknow University, Lucknow, India.

Dr. Aquilur Rahman is one of the founders of NeoPharm Inc., and currently serves as the Company's Chief Scientific Advisor. After helping to take NeoPharm public in 1996, he served as the Chief Scientific Officer and a member of the Board of Directors from 1990 until 2001. Since that time he has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Georgetown University. In 2007, Dr. Rahman returned to NeoPharm and has since played a key role as an advisor for its research and development activities. Dr. Rahman has more than 20 years of research experience in developing new modalities of treatment for cancer patients. He holds 15 patents, has been an author of over a hundred peer reviewed publications and has been a speaker at numerous seminars and lectures. He received his Masters of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Dacca (Bangladesh) in 1964 and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, U.K.) in 1972. With a reorganization strategy originally announced in April 2007, NeoPharm has achieved significant cost-savings and put into place an optimal cost structure which enables the Company to focus primarily on the development of drug candidates.

Mr. Eidell has been a financial and operating executive in the healthcare industry since 1998. From December 2001 to December 2003, he was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Esoterix, Inc., a privately-held clinical laboratory services company providing medical testing services (including clinical trials testing services) to healthcare professionals, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to Esoterix, Inc., he was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of NovaMed, Inc., a Nasdaq listed healthcare services and facilities company. Mr. Eidell received his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1982 and his BS in Business Administration from Drexel University in 1967. He currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Council to Drexel University's LeBow College of Business.
