Mr. Piro has served as Chief Executive Officer and President since March 1, 2009 and as Co-Chief Executive Officer and President since January 1, 2009. He was appointed to the Board of Directors effective January 1, 2009 in conjunction with his appointment as Co-Chief Executive Officer and President. From July 2002 to December 2008, he served as Executive Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. From May 2001 to July 2002, he served as Senior Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. From November 2000 to May 2001, he served as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Prior to November 2000, he served in various positions with the company, including Vice President, Business Development and General Manager, Planning Support, Analysis and Forecasting.
Mark Ganz serves as president and CEO of The Regence Group, a regional not-for-profit health and life insurance company based in Portland, serving customers in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. Ganz joined The Regence Group in 1995 and has served the company in various roles including chief operating officer, chief legal officer and secretary and chief compliance officer. He also served as president of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, one of the company's major subsidiaries and the largest health care insurer in the state. Before moving to Portland, he was general counsel for Pierce County Medical Bureau in Tacoma, Wash., one of the initial insurers involved in The Regence Group affiliation. He serves on the board of directors of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Boy Scouts of America Cascade Pacific Council, University of Portland Board of Regents, Oregon Business Council and Portland Business Alliance. Ganz earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Georgetown University. He resides in Portland, Ore.

Peggy Fowler, retired chief executive officer and president of Portland General Electric (PGE), has 35 years of experience in the utility business. In that time, she managed almost every major area of PGE. Fowler began her tenure at PGE in 1974 as a chemist in the company's analytical laboratory where she performed extensive environmental testing. She later managed that department and eventually worked her way up through the ranks to hold senior officer posts as head of PGE's Customer Service and Delivery areas; Power Production; Hydroelectric and Substation Operations; and one of PGE's largest divisions, the Gresham Division. She also has served as PGE's chief operating officer of distribution operations. Fowler earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and mathematics from George Fox University in Newberg, Ore. She also has completed the specialized training offered in public utility executive programs at the University of Michigan and the University of Idaho. Fowler resides in Tigard, Ore., with her husband, Bob. Together, they have raised two sons. She enjoys outdoor activities, including golf and skiing. Fowler serves in several volunteer capacities that contribute to the future of the community, including the boards of Oregon Business Council, the Regence Group, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, SOLV Founders' Circle, Four County Economic Development Corp., and the Oregon Independent College Foundation. Since 2004, she has been an ambassador for the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign.
Henderson received a bachelor's degree in management from Harding University in Searcy, Ark., and an MBA from the University of Texas. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in Oregon. Henderson serves on the Oregon Zoo Foundation Board, the Board of Governors for Cascade College in Portland, the Oregon State University MIS Advisory Committee, the Forestweb Advisory Board and the President's Council at Harding University. He is also active in church activities. He resides in Beaverton with his wife, Andrea, and two children. He loves traveling, gardening and spending time with his family.

Maria Pope was named senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer in January 2009. She is responsible for oversight of Corporate Finance; Financial Accounting and Reporting; Risk Management; Financial Analysis; Business Decision Support; Corporate Tax; Insurance and Claim Management; Facilities Management, and Rates and Regulatory Affairs. Previously, Pope served as vice president, chief financial officer at Mentor Graphics Corp., the Oregon-based software company, where she was responsible for multiple departments including financial affairs, corporate development and operations. Before she joined Mentor Graphics in 2007, she served 12 years in a variety of capacities at Pope & Talbot, Inc. Pope earned her Master's of Business Administration degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University. She is a corporate board member of Premera Blue Cross and TimberWest Forest Corp. She also serves on the OHSU Foundation Board and is a past chair of the Council of Forest Industries and the Oregon Symphony. After serving two years on the PGE Board of Directors, she officially resigned as of Dec. 31, 2008.
As senior vice president of Customer Service and Delivery, Steve Hawke has more than 33 years of experience in various transmission, distribution, customer service and sales positions. He currently oversees Distribution, System Planning and Engineering, Transmission Services, Customer Service, Customers and Economic Development and a variety of utility services and energy efficiency/sustainability groups. Hawke joined PGE in 1973 and has spent most of his career working in the company's Distribution Service regions. His early years involved a variety of engineering assignments, as well as managing the Southern Region and Western Region. Hawke also was manager of Response and Restoration and general manager of Delivery System Planning and Engineering before he settled into his current position in 1997. A 1971 graduate of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore., Hawke earned two bachelor's degrees, one in electrical engineering and the other in mathematics. He also holds a master's degree in business administration from Portland State University in Portland, Ore., and has completed the Public Utility Executive Program at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Now residing in Portland with his wife, Denise, Hawke enjoys coaching youth chess, soccer, basketball and baseball. He holds numerous positions with a variety of civic organizations including the Oregon High School Chess Association, the Oregon Engineering Education Foundation and the PGE Foundation, the corporate foundation of Portland General Electric.

Vice President Bill Nicholson leads PGE's Customers and Economic Development division. He oversees service to all customer markets, retail renewable power sales, distributed generation, demand side initiatives, customer research & analysis, internet strategy, and economic development. Nicholson was named vice president in May 2007. He joined PGE in 1980 as an engineer at the Trojan Nuclear Plant and quickly advanced to management positions at Trojan. During his career he has served in a variety of capacities including project manager for PGE's Resource Development and general manager of Engineering for PGE's power plants. In 2002, Nicholson moved to the distribution side of PGE's business, serving as general manager of PGE's Western Region Line Operations. Nicholson has served on the boards of a number of community organizations, including current service on the board of Associated Oregon Industries, Oregon BEST (Built Environment & Sustainable Technologies Center) and Earth Advantage, an Oregon-based nonprofit that helps builders apply green-building principles. He earned a bachelor of science degree in nuclear engineering from Oregon State University and is a registered professional engineer. He has successfully completed the Harvard University Program on Negotiation, the Utility Executive program from the University of Idaho, and the American Leadership Forum, where he serves as a senior fellow.

As vice president, general counsel and corporate compliance officer, Jay Dudley is responsible for all of PGE's legal affairs and will coordinate the company's internal audit, ethics and compliance activities. Since joining PGE in 1988, Dudley has served as lead regulatory attorney on state and federal matters and has been instrumental in forging collaborative working relationships with the Oregon Public Utility Commission, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Energy Facility Siting Council and Bonneville Power Administration. Before joining PGE, Dudley specialized in energy issues during almost 14 years of service with law firms in Seattle and Cincinnati. He has a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1970 and earned his Juris Doctorate from Stanford Law School in 1974. He is admitted to practice law in Oregon, Washington, California and Ohio. Dudley is also a fellow of the American Leadership Forum of Oregon, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that joins and strengthens leaders in order to better serve the public good. As an active member of the community, Dudley is a member of The Rotary Club of Portland Metropolitan and is a volunteer with the Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band. A native of Ohio, Dudley resides in Lake Oswego with his wife of 35 years, Hanan.
Mr. Brown is Managing Partner with Cascadia Law Group PLLC, a Seattle, Washington law firm he founded in 1996, which specializes in environmental law in the Pacific Northwest. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Brown was a Managing Partner at the Seattle office of Morrison & Foerster, LLP, a large international law firm. Mr. Brown is a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Mr. Dietzler has been a certified public accountant for nearly 39 years and retired as a partner of KPMG LLP, a public accounting firm, in 2005. During his last 10 years with KPMG LLP he served in both administrative and client service roles, which included serving on the firm s Board of Directors, including Governance, Nominating and Board Process and Evaluation committees, and was the Pacific Northwest partner in charge of the Audit Practice for KPMG s offices in Anchorage, Boise, Billings, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, as well as the Managing Partner of the Portland office. Bob Reid has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry and is currently a corporate director of British Columbia Transmission Corp. Reid served as chair of British Columbia Transmission Corp. from 2003 through Nov. 2008 and as president of Duke Energy's Canadian operations from 2002 to 2003. Prior to Duke's acquisition of Westcoast Energy in March 2002, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Westcoast. Prior to his appointment as Westcoast's chief operating officer in 2001, Reid held senior executive positions in both the natural gas industry and government service, including Union Gas Ltd., Westcoast Energy International, Pan-Alberta Gas, Foothills Pipe Lines and the Independent Petroleum Association of Canada. In the public sector, he served in several capacities with the government of Saskatchewan, including Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines from 1983 to 1987. In addition to British Columbia Transmission, he currently serves as a director of Greystone Capital Management Inc. and Investment Saskatchewan Inc. He also serves on the board of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and as a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of the Lower Mainland. Reid is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan. He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
