Texas Roadhouse is a growing, moderately priced, full-service, casual dining restaurant chain. Our founder and chairman, W. Kent Taylor, started the business in 1993. Our mission statement is "Legendary Food, Legendary Service ® ." Our operating strategy is designed to position each of our restaurants as the local hometown destination for a broad segment of consumers seeking high quality, affordable meals served with friendly, attentive service. As of December 30, 2008, there were 314 Texas Roadhouse restaurants operating in 46 states. We owned and operated 245 restaurants in 43 states and franchised and licensed an additional 69 restaurants in 23 states. Over the past five years, the total number of Texas Roadhouse company and franchise restaurants increased from 162 restaurants as of the end of 2003 to 314 restaurants as of the end of 2008, representing a 14.2% compounded annual growth rate. Over the same period, our revenue increased from $286.5 million to $880.5 million, our income from operations increased from $34.3 million to $62.0 million, and our net income increased from $23.1 million to $38.2 million, representing compounded annual growth rates of 25.2%, 12.6% and 10.5%, respectively.
