Responsibilities: All technology initiatives related to payments processing, including Heartland’s network infrastructures. Professional Background: After joining Heartland as a software developer in July 2000, Alan played a pivotal role in the implementation of Exchange, Heartland’s first authorization and capture platform. He was its primary architect and continued to responsible for driving its success until he became CTO in 2007. When he joined Heartland in early 2003, Brian was responsible for designing, building and managing the infrastructure for our front-end transaction processing system — which now handles millions of transactions every day. In 2007, Brian was named Heartland’s executive director of information technology infrastructure. In that capacity, he was responsible for our telecommunications and data networks, data centers and other corporate IT systems. Brian was named CIO in January 2009. He was a 2004 Candidate for the United States House of Representatives from Texas’s 3rd Congressional District and is a frequent delegate to political conventions. Responsibilities: The protection of merchant and consumer data through the management of Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance, the establishment of information technology security strategies and the proper integration of security into products and services. Professional Background: Kris joined Heartland in April 2008 and quickly enhanced strategies that protect merchants and consumers through end-to-end data encryption and other technologies. He works with third parties to ensure Point-of-Sale (POS) systems meet security guidelines and has expanded internal audit capabilities to combat increasing risks from hackers and other criminals. Kris is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Payment-Industry Security Auditor (CPISA) and a member of the Information Systems Security Association. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management where he teaches digital forensics. Prior to joining Heartland, Kris worked at Intervoice, Inc., in Dallas TX, and Alcatel Asia Pacific in Plano, TX, and Shanghai, China. Thomas M. Sheridan has served as our Executive Director since December 2004. From 1998 to December, 2004, Mr. Sheridan was Senior Vice President at Nova Information Systems, the payments processing division of US Bancorp, and was responsible for Pricing and Portfolio Management. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Sheridan was Vice President, Credit, Security and Settlement Operations, at PMT Services, which was acquired by Nova in 1998. From 1991 to 1997, Mr. Sheridan consulted for a number of companies in the payments industry, specializing in acquisitions, integration and portfolio management. From 1989 to 1991, he was Chief Financial Officer for National Data Corporation's payments division, now called Global Payments. Prior to such time, he was a Vice President at First Interstate Bank, a Senior Vice President in Citibank's credit card operations, and held several financial management positions at Abbott Laboratories, a health care company. Mr. Sheridan received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. in Finance from Northwestern University.

Mitchell L. Hollin, age 46, has served as one of our Directors since October 2001. Mr. Hollin is a Partner of LLR Capital, L.P., which is the general partner of LLR Equity Partners, L.P., an independent private equity firm, which he joined in August 2000. From 1994 until joining LLR Capital, L.P., Mr. Hollin was a founder and Managing Director of Advanta Partners LP, a private equity firm affiliated with Advanta Corporation. Prior to his involvement with Advanta Partners LP, Mr. Hollin was a Vice President at Cedar Point Partners LP, a middle market buyout firm and before that an Associate at Patricof & Co. Ventures, Inc., an international venture capital firm. Mr. Hollin is a member of the board of directors of various private companies.
