Named President and Chief Executive Officer of First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc. in January 2009, Bruce Duncan brings more than 30 years of real estate management and investment experience to the Company.
Mr. Duncan presently serves as Chairman of the Board of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc (NYSE: HOT), one of the leading hotel and leisure companies in the world, a position he has held since 2005. From April to September 2007, Mr. Duncan served as CEO of Starwood on an interim basis. He has been a member of Starwood’s Board of Directors since 1999, and was a Trustee of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, a real estate investment trust and former subsidiary of Starwood, since 1995. He also has been a senior advisor to Kohlberg Kravis & Roberts & Co. since July 2008.
Mr. Duncan was President and CEO of Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR), the largest publicly traded apartment company in the United States with revenues of $2.1 billion and an enterprise value of over $20 billion, from 2002 through 2005. From 1995 to 2000, he was Chairman, President and CEO of Cadillac Fairview Corporation, one of North America’s largest owners and developers of retail and office properties. From 1978 to 1994, Mr. Duncan served in several management roles at JMB Realty Corporation, most recently as President and Co-CEO of JMB Institutional Realty Corporation. During Mr. Duncan’s tenure at JMB, the firm grew its asset base from $800 million to more than $25 billion.
Mr. Duncan’s past professional affiliations include serving as a member of the following Executive Committees: the Board of Governors – National Association of Real Estate Trusts (NAREIT), the Canadian Institute for Public Real Estate Companies (CIPREC) and the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC), as well as past Trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Mr. Duncan is currently Trustee of RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago. He also previously served as Trustee of commercial real estate firms The Rouse Company, Cousins Properties Incorporated, and The Rubenstein Company. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and an AB degree in Economics from Kenyon College.
Michael W. Brennan has been a member of our Board of Directors since March 2008. From 1999 to 2008, Mr. Brennan served as President and Chief Executive Officer of First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: FR) and from 1994, the year he co-founded First Industrial, to 1999, he served as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Acquisitions Officer. Mr. Brennan joined The Shidler Group as its principal acquisitions executive in 1986 and was named partner of its Mid-West region in 1988. Mr. Brennan has 25 years of real estate experience. He holds a bachelor s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Brennan is also a director of Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: BEE) and the Chicago Public Library Foundation Board.

Mr. Schneider is First Industrial Realty Trust's Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for developing and establishing overall information technology strategy for the organization. He evaluates information needs and develops strategies for required programming, systems development and hardware acquisitions. Since the company's formation, he has been responsible for overseeing the information technology systems and coordination of the quarterly financial and statistical reporting. He was also previously responsible for all the tax functions of the company. Mr. Schneider joined The Shidler Group in 1991 and was controller for The Shidler Group's Midwest region responsible for accounting, tax and treasury functions. Prior to joining The Shidler Group, Mr. Schneider was a tax consultant with Arthur Andersen & Company, where he specialized in real estate and partnership tax and worked for two residential and commercial property management firms. Mr. Schneider is a certified public accountant and a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), the Illinois CPA Society and the Minnesota Society of certified public accountants. Mr. Yap is the Chief Investment Officer and a co-founder of First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: FR). He directs the overall investment and disposition strategy of the company, including the approval process, for both on-balance sheet and joint venture transactions. Bringing nearly 20 years of experience to the role of First Industrial Realty Trust's Acting Chief Financial Officer, Scott Musil focuses his efforts on all aspects of the Company's finance function including accounting and capital markets. Since joining First Industrial in 1995, Mr. Musil has held several financial roles within the Company.
Most recently as Chief Accounting Officer, Treasurer and Assistant Secretary, Mr. Musil managed public company and joint venture reporting including Section 404 compliance and tax, credit, and treasury functions. He also participated in capital market activities, and has been instrumental in raising more than $1 billion of common and preferred equity and unsecured debt, and arranging the Company's unsecured line of credit.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Musil served in various capacities with Arthur Andersen & Company specializing in the real estate and finance industries.
Mr. Musil is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). He earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from DePaul University and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.
Bringing more than two decades of commercial real estate investment experience to the role of Executive Director of Dispositions, Don Stoffle oversees all sales activity for First Industrial Realty Trust relative to its capital recycling program.
As Executive Director of First Industrial’s dispositions division, Mr. Stoffle directs a team of 12 transaction professionals and is responsible for pricing, structure and contracts for all disposition activity on behalf of the company.
Over the course of his real estate career, Mr. Stoffle has gained extensive experience in acquisitions, dispositions, development, due diligence, market/site analysis, appraisals and construction/mini-perm lending. During his tenure at First Industrial, he has completed acquisitions totaling more than $1 billion and dispositions in excess of $5 billion.
Prior to his current role at First Industrial, Mr. Stoffle served as Senior Investment Officer of the company’s Gulf/Mountain region where he was responsible for identifying, underwriting, negotiating/structuring and closing acquisitions, dispositions and redevelopments. Earlier, he was an Investment Associate for the company’s Midwest region.
Before joining First Industrial, Mr. Stoffle was a Commercial Banking Officer in the real estate group of Bank of America Illinois. While there, he originated more than $175 million of mini-perm and construction loans.
A graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in finance, Mr. Stoffle is an active member of the Chicago Real Estate Council (CREC) and holds an Illinois Real Estate Salesperson license.

Mr. Avioli is Senior Vice President at First Industrial Realty Trust, responsible for originating and managing the Company's financing relationships and transactions. Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Avioli held various positions over a 12-year tenure as an executive with the Lerner Enterprises organization, a large and well-diversified private company with significant real estate holdings in and around the Washington, D.C. market. These positions included Director of Loan Origination and Financial Analysis, where Mr. Avioli was the senior financial analyst for the organization, along with being primarily responsible for managing the organization's lending relationships and all aspects of originating, negotiating and closing debt transactions. During his tenure, Mr. Avioli completed transactions with an aggregate value well into the billions of dollars. Mr. Avioli was also actively involved in the development, leasing and management activities of the organization. Mr. Avioli earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Business Administration from The George Washington University.

With more than 22 years in commercial real estate, Kevin Czerwinski directs First Industrial’s development projects in the Gulf/Mountain and West Coast regions, and oversees all industrial real estate activities for the company’s Phoenix region.
As Senior Vice President of Development based in First Industrial’s Phoenix office, Mr. Czerwinski directs build-to-suit development projects for corporate customers in the Western U.S. as well as oversees all acquisitions, dispositions, operations and asset management in the Phoenix area.
During his career, he has led the development of several million s.f. of industrial and office space, and several of the projects he has directed have earned top industry awards, including NAIOP’s “Best Industrial Build-to-Suit Project of the Year” recognition three years in a row.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Czerwinski served in a variety of roles at CB Richard Ellis over a 13-year period, most recently as First Vice President of Corporate Services.
An active member and former board member of the Phoenix chapter of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP), Mr. Czerwinski is also a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) , the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Valley Partnership and CoreNet Global. He is a licensed real estate broker.

With nearly 25 years of commercial real estate experience, Phil Bowman is responsible for the company’s investments and acquisitions in the Inland Empire and Orange County markets, and oversees development for Southern California.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Bowman owned Sandalwood Advisors, Inc. a real estate investment and advisory company that invested as a principal and advised third parties across a broad range of property types.
Before forming Sandalwood, Mr. Bowman held a variety of key posts at Lennar Partners (now LNR Property Corp.), where he headed development and investments throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada. As Senior Vice President, he was responsible for sourcing, structuring, underwriting and closing a wide range of real estate opportunities. Previously, as Director of REO, he led Lennar Partners’ development, operations and dispositions in the Western U.S.
Earlier, Mr. Bowman was Vice President of MIP Properties in Santa Monica, where he directed marketing, leasing, property management, legal, tax and finance activities for a $100 million portfolio. He began his real estate career developing and marketing Chicago- and Dallas-based office and industrial projects at Transwestern Property Company.
An active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP), Mr. Bowman is a licensed real estate broker in California.

Bringing to the table more than 20 years of senior management and real estate finance experience, Bob Walter joined First Industrial Realty Trust in 2007 to manage and expand the company’s private capital funding activities.
As Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, Mr. Walter is responsible for identifying and securing both debt and equity capital sources for the company’s joint venture programs.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Walter served as Senior Vice President for U.S. Bank Corporation, where he managed the institutional and middle-market lending groups in Chicago. Previously, he was Executive Vice President at First Bank and Trust Company of Illinois, where he led real estate lending and portfolio management.
Earlier in his career, he held management positions at General Electric Capital Corporation, LaSalle Bank and Nomura Asset Capital Corporation.

In her role, Ms. Pils was responsible for human resources programs and process transition for employees in a newly merged organization and led the company's organizational structure design, staffing, and change management initiatives. With 30 years of experience across all areas of commercial real estate, Greg Downs oversees portfolio acquisitions, developments and custom solutions to meet the needs of First Industrial’s corporate customers in the Western U.S.
As Managing Director of the Gulf/West Region, Mr. Downs is responsible for directing industrial real estate activity in some of the nation’s top markets, including Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego and Denver.
Prior to joining First Industrial in 1997 as Senior Regional Director in Denver, Mr. Downs served as Principal and Vice President of Development with Pacifica Holding Company, an owner and operator of more than 7 million sf. of commercial property in the Denver metro area.
Earlier, he was Director of Asset Management for Bren Investment Properties in Los Angeles, with responsibility for the firm’s commercial properties in Southern California. Mr. Downs began his real estate career with CB Richard Ellis in the company’s Denver office, and over the years has represented top private investors and institutional owners including Copley Realty Advisors, Travelers, Aetna, TCW Realty Advisors and The Yarmouth Group.
An active member and former board member of the Denver chapter of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP), Mr. Downs is also an affiliate member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
Mr. Downs graduated from the University of Denver, College of Arts and Sciences, and attended the University of Colorado Graduate School of Public Administration.
Steve continued his REIT investment by contributing a substantial portfolio to Investors Real Estate Trust (NASDAQ-IRETS). He sits on the Board of this one billion dollar company, as Hoyt Properties, Inc. continues to manage a one million square foot portfolio for IRET. With access to private and public capital, Hoyt Properties, Inc. offers various real estate solutions to its clients comparable to those of its largest competitors. As Senior Regional Director of First Industrial's Minneapolis/St. Paul region, Mr. Willson oversees he company's acquisitions, dispositions, developments, build-to-suits, asset management and lease negotations. Prior to his current position, Mr. Willson served First Industrial in a number of roles. As Regional Development Officer, he was responsible for overvseeing all development projects in both the Twin Cities and the Detroit metro area. Earlier, he was responsible for overseeing the region's brokerage and marketing activities. Before joining First Industrial, Mr. Willson worked for nearly 10 years as an industrial real estate broker with CB Commercial and Koll Real Estate. A licensed real estate broker, Mr. Willson is an active member of the Minneapolis chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR) and CoreNet Global, and a designate member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.

An award-winning real estate professional with more than 17 years’ experience working in industrial real estate in Canada, Dave Carreiro joined First Industrial Realty Trust in 2007 to lead the company’s new Toronto office.
As Regional Director of First Industrial’s Toronto region, Mr. Carreiro is responsible for delivering industrial real estate supply chain solutions to customers in this key Canadian market. During his career, he has been consistently ranked among Toronto’s top industrial professionals.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Carreiro served in a variety of roles over a 17-year period at Cushman & Wakefield LePage in Toronto. Most recently, he was Vice President of the Toronto West Industrial division, where he led one of the company’s top real estate teams and was responsible for sales, leasing, brokerage, design build, and landlord and tenant representation.
While at C&W, Mr. Carreiro was honored with numerous awards including earning the company’s Award of Excellence; being named to C&W’s top 10 among all brokers in Canada in 2003; and being selected one of the company’s top 10 industrial brokers in Toronto every year since 1995.
He earned a business degree at the Richard Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.
With more than 26 years’ commercial real estate experience in corporate relationship management, acquisitions, developments, dispositions and brokerage, Gary Danklefsen joined the company in 2007 to lead the company’s Seattle/Tacoma office.
As Regional Director of First Industrial’s Seattle/Tacoma region, Mr. Danklefsen is responsible for delivering industrial real estate supply chain solutions to customers in this burgeoning 260 million s.f. industrial market. During his career, he has executed real estate transactions totaling more than $2 billion and 10 million s.f. of space.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Danklefsen was Director of Transaction Management for CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest commercial real estate brokerage firm. There he was responsible for managing the firm’s Washington Mutual portfolio and relationship. On Washington Mutual’s behalf, he completed the sale of the Irvine and Chatsworth Campuses located in Los Angeles for more than $260 million, setting a new benchmark for price per square foot in the Irvine market.
Earlier, Mr. Danklefsen held the position of Senior Vice President, Corporate Services, and a dedicated broker for Trammell Crow Company’s Seattle operations, where he served several large corporate accounts.
An active member of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors (CRE), Mr. Danklefsen earned his Bachelor of Arts in finance, cum laude, from Seattle University.
With more than 15 years in the commercial real estate industry, Howard Freeman brings a depth of experience in acquisition, development, redevelopment, adaptive re-use, tenanting and sales to his dual roles at First Industrial. As Senior Regional Director for First Industrial's northern New Jersey office, Mr. Freeman oversees the company's acquisitions, dispositions, development, operations and asset management activities in the region. In addition, he serves as the Senior Investment Officer for First Industrial's East Region, responsible for all of the company's property acquisition activities throughout New Jersey; Harrisburg, Penn., and the I-81 corridor; and Miami, Fla. Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Freeman served as Senior Vice President and Director of Acquisitions for Geometry Realty, Inc., a private real estate investment management firm based in New York City. While at Geometry, he was responsible for origination, underwriting, due diligence, venture structuring and project financing of office, industrial, land, residential and retail investments. He was also actively involved in the company's marketing, investor relations, performance measurement and strategic planning initiatives. Earlier, he was with Coopers & Lybrand's National Real Estate Advisory Services practive, where his area of responsibility included valuation and due diligence for several large real estate debt and equity transactions. Mr. Freeman received a Bachelor of Science degree in applied economics from Cornell University and an MBA in finance from Columbia University.
With more than 16 years’ experience in the Salt Lake industrial market working in industrial facility leasing, build-to-suit development, investment property sales and more, James Merrill leads all company initiatives related to its Utah portfolio.
As Regional Director of First Industrial’s Salt Lake City region, Mr. Merrill is responsible for overseeing acquisitions, dispositions, developments, build-to-suits, asset management and lease negotiations across this market.
Under Mr. Merrill’s leadership, the Salt Lake City portfolio has grown by more than 1.5 million s.f. and net operating income has more than doubled. While acquisitions have been steadily increasing the size of the Utah operation, the office has also become a leader in industrial development, completing more than eight transactions involving 430 acres of land and 565,000 s.f. of finished buildings.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Merrill worked in industrial property sales and leasing at NAI Utah Commercial Real Estate, Inc., where he was recognized for four years running as completing the highest number of transactions by a broker in his firm. He began his career with The Enterprise, publisher of Utah’s premier business journal.

Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Shapiro was director of development and a vice president of Codina Development Company, where he was responsible for managing all industrial, office, retail and residential development operations and identifying new development opportunities. While there, he developed more than 2 million s.f. of Class A industrial distribution space in the Miami market. Earlier, he had been developing a broad spectrum of land, office, retail, residential and industrial product throughout South Florida. A Miami resident for more than 49 years, Mr. Shapiro earned his masters of business administration and bachelor of business administration from the University of Miami. He is a licensed general contractor and licensed real estate broker in the state of Florida.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Northwestern University.
With more than 14 years' experience in real estate, Mark Volkman directs First Industrial Realty Trust's initiatives across the Cincinnati and Columbus markets to provide custom industrial real estate solutions to corporate customers. As Regional Director of First Industrial's Ohio region, Mr. Volkman is responsible for operations, portfolio management, investment, sales and development activity in the region. Prior to his current position, Mr. Volkman served as Director of Marketing and Leasing for First Industrial's Cincinnati and Columbus markets. Before joining First Industrial, he was a marketing representative with ProLogis Trust where he was responsible for leasing the company's industrial portfolio between the greater Cincinnati and Louisville, Ky., markets. Earlier, Mr. Volkman was a property manager with Security Capital Industrial Trust, now ProLogis. While there, he oversaw the firm's industrial holdings in Cincinnati, northern Kentucky and Louisville. A graduate from The Ohio State University with a B.S. degree in business administration in real estate and urban analysis, Mr. Volkman is an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the Ohio Association of Realtors.

Mr. Damone is Director of Strategic Planning for the Company, has been a director of the Company since June 1994, and is a member of First Industrial Realty Trust's Investment Committee. Between 1973 and 1994, Mr. Damone was Chief Executive Officer of Damone/Andrew, a full service real estate organization that developed, managed and leased approximately five million square feet of industrial, warehouse, distribution, research and development and office buildings. Prior to co-founding Damone/Andrew in 1973, Mr. Damone was the executive vice president of a privately-held, Michigan-based real estate development and construction company, where he was responsible for the development of industrial/business parks. His professional affiliations include the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors ('SIOR'), the National Association of Realtors ('NAR'), the Michigan Association of Realtors and the Detroit Area Commercial Board of Realtors. Mr. Damone has both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
With more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, including extensive experience representing institutional real estate owners, Rick Czerwinski leads First Industrial's leasing and asset management initiatives in the U.S. and Canada. As National Director - Leasing and Asset Management, Mr. Czerwinski is responsible for the leasing and management of the company's wholly owned and joint venture industrial portfolios throughout North America. Prior to his current role, Mr. Czerwinski served as First Industrial's National Leasing Director and previously was Senior Regional Director for its Michigan region, overseeing acquisitions, development, build-to-suits, asset management and lease negotiations for the company's Detroit/Grand Rapids portfolio. Before joining First Industrial, Mr. Czerwinski was Vice President at DeMattia Development, a real estate development, architecture and construction management firm, where he was responsible for build-to-suit and speculative development. Earlier, Mr. Czerwinski held numerous positions within the Michigan commercial real estate community. These include serving as Vice President for Koll Management Services, overseeing its third-party management and leasing portfolio in Suburban Detroit; Vice President at Damone/Andrew, Inc.; and Leasing Manager at Grubb & Ellis Company, Inc., where he was responsible for leasing the Prudential Town Center, a 2 million s.f. mixed-use development in Southfield, Mich. With more than a decade of commercial real estate experience, much of it in Southern California, Ryan McClean has been integral in helping First Industrial expand its West Coast presence to serve the needs of corporate customers coast-to-coast.
As Regional Director for First Industrial Realty Trust’s Southern California region based in Los Angeles, Mr. McClean is responsible for overseeing acquisitions, development, build-to-suits, asset management and lease negotiations for the company’s Los Angeles portfolio.
Prior to his current role, Mr. McClean held a variety of positions within First Industrial, including serving as Senior Investment Analyst for the company’s West Coast region. He was integral in expanding First Industrial’s presence from its Midwest origins to a coast-to-coast provider of industrial real estate solutions, including establishing the company’s L.A. office and acquiring several million s.f. in Southern California.
Mr. McClean began his career at First Industrial’s corporate headquarters working as an analyst for Chief Investment Officer Johannson Yap and the company’s new market investment team.
An active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Mr. McClean earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Michael Sung currently serves as president of The Norfolk Corporation, charged with the company's corporate strategy and financial planning. He also serves as Vice President of Presidio Investments, a Los Angeles-based firm that invests private equity into commercial real estate. His responsibilities include sourcing acquisitions and asset management of the company's portfolio. Michael is a fourth generation Vancouverite, attending St. George's for both elementary and high school. He played for St. George's basketball teams from Grade 5 on, and his basketball memories remain some of his fondest. In fact, Michael counts his role on St. George's first BCHSBBA qualifying team as one of his proudest achievements. Michael attended Pomona College in Claremont, California and graduated with a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He also played two years of basketball before switching to the school's championship rugby team. Recently, Michael graduated with his M.B.A. from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He currently resides in Los Angeles, but maintains strong ties to B.C. through his involvement with the Metro Vancouver Basketball Foundation Board of Directors, alma mater activities through St. George's, and other philanthropic organizations.

With 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate investment, Scott McGregor brings a depth of expertise in asset management, acquisition, development and disposition transactions to his role as Senior Investment Officer.
As Senior Investment Officer of First Industrial Realty Trust’s Central region, Mr. McGregor is responsible for the company’s property acquisition activities in much of the region. His primary territories include Minneapolis, Nashville, St. Louis, Detroit, Dallas, Houston and Toronto, Canada.
Since joining First Industrial in 1993, Mr. McGregor has acquired or sold industrial properties with an aggregate value of more than $2 billion.
Previously, Mr. McGregor served as Property Manager, Financial Analyst and Leasing Agent for The Crown Group, Inc., a suburban Chicago developer of office, industrial and retail real estate. His responsibilities included asset management, acquisition, development, and disposition modeling and leasing.
Mr. McGregor earned his MBA in finance from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago and his undergraduate degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.
Mr. Wilson, 63, has been a director of the Company since June 1994. Since February 2003, Mr. Wilson has been owner and President of Advanced Building Products & Services, LLC, a building product supply company located in Jacksonville, Florida. Since 1985, Mr. Wilson has been President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Riverside Group, Inc., a holding company. From 1991 to April 2003, Mr. Wilson was Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Wickes Inc.

John Brenninkmeijer has been a director of the Company since August 2007. Since 2001, Mr. Brenninkmeijer has been non-executive chairman of REDEVCO Europe Services B.V., a privately held European real estate firm based in Amsterdam with more than 54 million square feet of retail properties in 20 countries throughout Europe. Prior to joining REDEVCO, Mr. Brenninkmeijer served as a senior executive with major retailing firms in Europe, the United States and Brazil. Mr. Brenninkmeijer earned his master’s degree from Lizenziat Wirtschaftwissenschaft, Hochschule St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland. His board memberships include the Foundation for Translational Research at the Cancer Center Amsterdam.
Mr. Lynch is a Principal and co-founder of The Townsend Group. He has 17 years of institutional real estate consulting experience and 29 years of direct real estate experience. During his career at Townsend, Mr. Lynch has facilitated the construction of real estate portfolios for numerous clients throughout the world. Mr. Lynch is also responsible for new product development. Prior to forming Townsend, Mr. Lynch participated in structuring private placement real estate transactions for Stonehenge Capital Corporation, a New York based investment-banking firm. Mr. Lynch is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), National Counsel for Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), and is a member of the real estate advisory board for New York University. Mr. Lynch is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has presented in Amsterdam and Frankfurt for the benefit of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and on behalf of the Institute for International Research.

Mr. Slater has been a director of the Company since June 1994, and is a member of First Industrial Realty Trust's Compensation and Nominating/Corporate Governance committees. Since 1988, Mr. Slater has been President of Jackson Consulting, Inc., a private investment and consulting company that specializes in advising manufacturing and distribution companies on strategic, organizational, and economic planning. He retired as President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Crane Co., a multinational manufacturing, distribution, and aerospace company, after serving the company from 1969 to 1988. Mr. Slater also held several executive level positions at Crane Co. subsidiaries including CF&I Corporation, Medusa Corporation, and Huttig Sash & Door Co. Mr. Slater holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Canisius College (Buffalo, NY). He is a former member of the college's board of trustees and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Canisius College. Mr. Slater has served on the boards of directors of a number of public companies during his career. Most recently, he was a director of Southdown, Inc. and National Steel Corporation.
An experienced executive who has served on First Industrial Realty Trust's Board of Directors since March 2000, Ed Tyler brings a long track record in leadership and entrepreneurial positions to his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Tyler also served as Lead Director and Interim CEO of First Industrial from October 2008 through January 2009.
Mr. Tyler is currently CEO of Ideapoint Ventures, an early stage venture fund that focuses on nanotechnologies. Prior to joining Ideapoint, Mr. Tyler served as President and CEO of Moore Corporation Limited, a provider of data capture, information design, marketing services, digital communications and print solutions. During his tenure at Moore, he led a worldwide repositioning and restructuring of the company.
Earlier, Mr. Tyler worked for 24 years with R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company in Chicago, beginning his career as an electronics engineer and ultimately serving as Executive Vice President, Sector President, and Chief Technology Officer. He also was responsible for 77 Capital, an early stage venture capital subsidiary of Donnelley, where he was directly responsible for investment decisions and worked closely with the portfolio companies while participating on many of their boards.
Mr. Tyler is a former Chairman of the American Red Cross (Mid-America Chapter) and Campaign Chairman of the United Way of Lake County, and serves as a director for several small, private companies. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, where he is also an adjunct faculty member.
