Daniel Meyers was named President and Chief Executive Officer of First Marblehead and a member of the Board of Directors on September 1, 2008. Mr. Meyers co-founded the company and previously served as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. From 1980 to 1991, Mr. Meyers was involved in arbitrage and derivatives trading at EF Hutton, Prudential Bache Securities, LF Rothschild Unterberg Towbin and Commodities Corporation. At the University of Virginia he currently serves as the Chair of the Board of the Curry School of Education Foundation and sits on the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors. He also serves on the Board of the Forum for the Future of Higher Education. Mr. Meyers received an A.B. in Economics from Brandeis University and completed the Owner / President Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Klipper was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation in September of 2008. He had been the Treasurer and Chief Accounting Officer of the Corporation since November 2006 and prior to that he served as Senior Vice President, Finance since March 2005. From January 2003 to March 2005, Mr. Klipper served as the Chief Executive Officer of BrownCo., an online brokerage firm at the time owned by JPMorgan. From May 2002 to January 2003, Mr. Klipper served as the Chief Financial Officer of Park Street Capital, a private equity firm. From January 2000 to April 2002, Mr. Klipper served as the Chief Financial Officer of Tucker Anthony Sutro, Inc., a publicly traded securities brokerage firm. Prior to joining Tucker Anthony, Mr. Klipper served for five years as both the Chief Financial Officer and Controller for the securities brokerage unit of Fidelity Investments, and he held positions with KPMG LLP, a registered public accounting firm, for eleven years. Mr. Baumer joined First Marblehead as Senior Vice President, Compliance in July 2004 from Bank of America, where he was the Compliance Manager for their nationwide mortgage operations. Prior to its acquisition by Bank of America, Mr. Baumer was the Compliance Director- Core Banking for Fleet Boston Financial Corporation and was responsible for regulatory compliance programs in Fleet's consumer, commercial, and administrative staff units. He joined Fleet in 1984 and held various leadership positions in Compliance, Audit, Credit, and Retail Banking business units. Mr. Baumer earned his B.S. from Franklin Pierce College. Stein Skaane joined First Marblehead as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets in 2001. During his tenure with First Marblehead, Mr. Skaane has played key roles in the product development, capital markets and finance groups. Prior to joining First Marblehead, he was with State Street Bank in the Asset Finance Division covering specialty finance including student loans. William D. Hansen has served as a director since July 2003. Mr. Hansen has served as the Senior Managing Director at the Chartwell Education Group since August 2005. Prior to that, he was the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Affiliated Computer Services' Education Services Business, which provides business process and information technology outsourcing solutions to commercial and government clients.
