First Mercury Financial Corporation (FMFC) is a holding company for our operating subsidiaries. Our operations are conducted with the goal of producing overall profits by strategically balancing underwriting profits from our insurance subsidiaries with the commissions and fee income generated by our non-insurance subsidiaries. FMFC's principal operating subsidiaries are CoverX Corporation, First Mercury Insurance Company (FMIC), First Mercury Casualty Company (FMCC) and American Risk Pooling Consultants (ARPCO). Our mission is to meet our clients' needs by providing specialized and tailored insurance products. We continually review our practices and management of all of our accounts to ensure that the companies affiliated with FMFC are giving clients the maximum return on their money. FMFC seeks to create relationships based on trust and satisfaction. With this in mind, all of us at FMFC stand behind our company's mission to serve our clients promptly and efficiently. Mr. Shaw has served as a member of our Board of Directors since 1973. From 1973 to 2005, he was our Chief Executive Officer. He is the founder of the Company. Mr. Shaw entered the insurance business in 1967 and formed CoverX in 1973.

Mr. Marazza has served as our Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since July 2006. Jeffrey R. Wawok, Executive Vice President. Mr. Wawok joined the Company as its Executive Vice President in 2006. Dr. Oakley has served as a member of our Board of Directors since March 2008. He currently serves as the Shepard Executive-in- Residence of the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. Previously he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Nationwide Companies, a Fortune 100 global financial services organization. Dr. Oakley served on the Board of Directors and was Chair of the Audit and Finance Committees of the Ohio Casualty Corporation, a publicly traded property-casualty insurance group.
