Angel's career in the Supplies and Equipment area began in 1984 while working for Marriott-Host, Inc. at LAX. As Maintenance Coordinator, Angel was in charge of purchasing replacement parts and dispatching of repair personnel throughout the airport facilities. In doing so, Angel had the opportunity to implement an energy conservation program that yielded savings of over $75,000 annually. A large portion of these savings came from replacing defective and worn-out kitchen equipment, which exposed Angel to a world of knowledge in that field. He then moved on to the construction management field until 1996. After that year, Angel accepted a Smallwares Buyer position with Sysco. In 2002, he became the Purchasing Manager for a supplies and equipment distributor in the Portland area. Angel joined Food Services of America in January 2006.
