Forbes conferences bring the pages of Forbes magazine to life. They provide an experience of total immersion into our magazine's content, entrepreneurial spirit, luxurious properties, prestigious community, and our philosophy of business success through lifelong relationships. From panels led by our editors, to one on one interviews with business and political visionaries, to unique networking exercises and business school style case studies, attendees are enveloped in the world of Forbes from the moment they register. Sponsors have face to face access to their most important prospects and are able to associate their brand, product or service with intellectual discourse of the highest caliber. We are committed to the ideals of creating business opportunities while promoting free trade and global understanding for today's leaders as well as those of tomorrow. Our unique combination of substance and style not only makes this possible - it makes the process exciting. Attendees are active participants in each debate - not passive members of a lecturer's audience. This dialogue, taking place in elegant and interesting environments, is the essence of our conferences.

Tim is a partner in Reason inc. He serves on two boards, one public and one private, and he is co-author of Unsolicited Advice, a weekly marketing column appearing at Forbes.com and of Being Reasonable, a quarterly column in Media magazine. After graduating with a B.A. from Dartmouth and an M.B.A. from Columbia, Tim began his career in advertising in 1968 with Doyle Dane Bernbach, where he learned from arguably the greatest creative director of them all, Bill Bernbach. Four years later, looking for new and different challenges, he went into political campaign consulting, again choosing to work directly with one of the acknowledged masters, David Garth. It was a heady and exhausting six-year experience, culminating in the against-all-odds victory by Ed Koch for Mayor of New York City. Tim then went back into consumer advertising, joining Young & Rubicam. There, his career took a number of interesting turns, from domestic account management to head of new business to general agency management to worldwide director of client services. Constantly traveling, he became a specialist in global accounts, leading Y&R's efforts to consolidate both the Colgate-Palmolive and Citibank accounts net incremental annual revenues of $75 MM. He served as CEO of Y&R's flagship New York office and of HDM Worldwide, an agency network jointly owned by Y&R, Dentsu and Havas. He was a director of Y&R Inc. for ten years, a vice-chairman for six years, and a member of the corporate executive committee. After 30 years, Tim had enough of corporate life, and he became a consultant, a writer and an entrepreneur. He has advised domestic and international consumer product and media companies, advertising agencies, sports agents and private equity investors. He is an active co-founder of a company that creates business products, processes and systems utilizing digital communications. Tim and his family divide their time between the Upper West Side and the East End of Long Island.

Todd Buchholz "lights up economics with a wickedly sparkling wit," says the Associated Press. He recently jousted with James Carville and Ben Stein, and Successful Meetings Magazine named him one of the "21 Top Speakers for the Twentieth Century." His editorials in the Wall Street Journal correctly forecast the 2001 slowdown in the U.S., and the New York Times has turned to him to decipher terrorist threats and the job market. "Witty, iconoclastic and engaging" says the Wall Street Journal of Buchholz, while BusinessWeek raved about his book Market Shock, which warned of quicksand facing the stock market. He entertains audiences, showing them how to thrive in a chaotic economy, while gearing up for prosperity. A former director of economic policy at the White House, a managing director of the $15 billion Tiger hedge fund, and an award-winning economics teacher at Harvard, Buchholz targets his entertaining remarks to the cutting edge of economics, finance, and business strategy. He has been a senior economic adviser to President Bush and is a frequent commentator on ABC News, PBS, and CBS, and recently hosted his own special on CNBC. Buchholz has debated such luminaries as Lester Thurow, Robert Reich and Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz. He is the Co-Founder of Enso Capital and Managing Director of Two Oceans Fund, a real estate fund. He has authored numerous books that have been translated into a dozen languages and are used in universities nationwide, the likes of which include Harvard, Brigham Young and Princeton. His latest books, New Ideas from Dead CEOs: Lasting Lessons from the Corner Office (HarperCollins) and a financial thriller The Castro Gene were released to wide acclaim in 2007. New Ideas from Dead CEOs was named a "best book of the year" by Entrepreneur. Market Shock: 9 Economic and Social Upheavals that Will Shake Our Financial Future, received rave reviews and was dubbed "outstanding" by the Wall Street Journal. Buchholz is also author of the best-selling New Ideas from Dead Economists, From Here To Economy, and Bringing the Jobs Home, which were lavishly praised by The New York Times and Financial Times. New Ideas from Dead Economists has been named a "classic" by the American Economic Association. Buchholz is a co-producer of the Broadway smash hit Jersey Boys, and he has penned articles for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Reader's Digest. He delivered a lecture at the White House entitled "Clarity, Honesty and Modesty in Economics," and has been a keynote speaker before IBM, Citibank and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Before joining Tiger in 1996, Buchholz was President of the G7 Group, an international consulting firm, whose clientele included many of the top securities firms, investment banks and money managers in New York, London, and Tokyo. From 1989 to 1992 he served at the White House as a Director for Economic Policy.
