Jim Bindon brings a unique combination of expertise and insight to Forsythe and its customers, having been an IT decision-maker and Forsythe customer prior to joining Forsythe in 1987. In his current role of vice president and regional manager, Bindon's blend of technical and financial knowledge has allowed him to help customers understand and make economic decisions about technology investments. He is responsible for all of Forsythe's sales activity in its mountain region, which covers Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. Bindon began his sales career at Forsythe more than 15 years ago, developing new territories in several regions. He has earned numerous sales and sales management certificates as well as several Forsythe President's Club awards, and in 1997 was promoted to vice president and regional manager of Forsythe's heartland and southwest regions, both of which grew substantially under his stewardship. In 2002, his focus shifted to the Forsythe's central region, where he oversaw realignment of the company's efforts in its headquarters region. In 2003, he turned his attention to Forsythe's mountain region. Before transitioning to sales, Bindon served for several years as Forsythe's internal equity manager. In this role, he was responsible for optimizing the company's return on its leasing portfolio. Prior to joining Forsythe, Bindon served as IT comptroller for Baxter Healthcare, which was then as now a Forsythe customer. He not only managed a $110 million IT budget, but also helped navigate the organization (then a $2 billion company) through a merger with a company twice its size. Responsible for the new $6 billion company's global IT assets and all associated expenses, he implemented asset management systems and negotiated maintenance contracts, software licenses, and leases. During his tenure at Baxter he saved them more than $5 million over a three-year period. An active civic and industry volunteer, Bindon helps recruit local technology executives to share their expertise with Chicago inner city high school students through i.c.stars, a Chicago area non-profit organization that helps students prepare for employment in the business technology world. Bindon earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Loyola University, Chicago.
