Prior to joining Foundstone, Ron worked at a Big Six accounting firm as the director of its security center in Houston. He designed and developed a 2,000 square-foot facility staffed with twenty security experts charted with testing systems for security vulnerabilities and providing recommendations for remediation. Ron also served as an information warfare officer with the US Air Force, where he was deployed as a consultant to Air Force and other US Department of Defense (DoD) locations worldwide to lead penetration and vulnerability assessments, to correct computer and network vulnerabilities, and to manage rapid response teams for the remediation of security incidents. His accomplishments include: researching, planning, and implementing the Air Force's first Information Warfare Aggressor program, as well as planning and executing detailed Information Warfare attack campaigns during Air Force exercises. As part of his duties, Ron has attacked more than 60,000 DoD computers, representing virtually all types of common configurations. He has also developed and taught courses in security administration and incident response.
