Appointed as the France Telecom Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer on February 27, 2005, he is also a director at Thomson and Thales and a member of the supervisory board at Radiall and ST Microelectronics. Didier Lombard joined the Group in 2003 as Executive Senior Vice President, in charge of Technologies, Strategic Partnerships and New Usages for France Telecom. Jean-Jacques Damlamian is France Telecom's chief operating officer of the Corporate Technology and Development Division, a position he has held since 1995. He is in charge of corporate strategy, international development, research laboratories and information systems. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Damlamian served as executive vice president, Marketing and Sales at France Telecom since 1991. Mr. Damlamian began his career at France Telecom in 1973 at the CNET (Centre National d'Etudes des Telecommunications), France Telecom's Research and Development Center. Throughout the early part of his career, he held various management positions in France Telecom's corporate, sales and marketing, and regional divisions. From 1983 to 1988, Mr. Damlamian served as vice president, International Networks and from 1988-1989, he headed the Mobile Communications Group and launched the Orange GSM program.
