During his three years with IAEM, he worked in several departments from Services to Education to Conventions. He was recognized at AMPROFEC 1999 in Puebla, Mexico; was the 1999 IAEM Employee of the Year; and received the 2000 "Attitude of the Year Award" from FSI.

Kathryn joined Butterfield Private Bank in 2006 as Manager of Portfolio Management Development. Kathryn began her career in 1994 with Cazenove & Co in Fund Management where she worked for 6 years primarily with the International Private Client team. Following this she spent 3 years as a Private Client Fund Manager at Morgan Stanley Quilter, where she was an Associate Divisional Director. Latterly she developed her career by training as a financial advisor specialising in inheritance tax, pensions & investments. As President of National Planning Corporation, Shawn Dreffein is responsible for leading our senior management team in setting the firm's strategic direction and also chairs NPC's President's Advisory Council. In addition, Shawn holds the dual role of President and CEO of National Planning Holdings, which functions as the holding company for all four JNL broker-dealers. In this capacity, she oversees the overall operations of Jackson National Life's broker-dealer affiliates. Shawn is a member of the Financial Services Institute's ("FSI") Board of Directors. Launched in January 2004 with the help of The Financial Planning Association, FSI is dedicated to advocacy issues relating specifically to independent contractor broker-dealers. Prior to joining NPC and Jackson National Life Insurance Company (Jackson), Shawn practiced law and held a variety of positions in the financial services industry, most recently as Vice President of Advanced Markets for Financial Network Investment Corp. (FNIC). Shawn earned a degree in Political Science and a JD from the University of Illinois. She received her Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College, and also holds the following licenses: 7, 63, 24 and Life/Variable contract.
