Michael E. Reed became our Chief Executive Officer in February 2006. He was formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc. ("CNHI") and had served in that capacity since 1999. Mr. Reed served as CNHI's Chief Financial Officer from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, he worked for Park Communications, Inc., a multimedia company, located in Ithaca, New York. Mr. Reed currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Associated Press and he is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee for the Associated Press. He also serves on the board of directors for the Newspaper Association of America and the board of directors for Inland Newspaper Association. Mr. Reed is currently a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Alabama's College of Communication and Information Sciences and is a member of the Grady College Journalism School's Board of Advisors.

Randall W. Cope is our Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer responsible for our Southern Midwest Region. Mr. Cope held the position of Executive Vice President from April 2002 until he was named our Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer in June 2005. Mr. Cope served as Vice President from December 1998 until he was named our Executive Vice President in April 2002. Mr. Cope also oversees our Specialty Publications Division and national classified advertising network. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Cope was regional manager and publisher of the Northwest Arkansas Times in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which was owned by APC. Mr. Cope has over 20 years of experience covering all areas of newspaper operations.

Scott T. Champion is our Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer responsible for our Western Region. He served as Regional Executive Vice President from 1999 until he was named our Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer in June 2005. He was also a director from January 2000 until June 2005.

Mark R. Thompson became our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in May 2006. He was formerly Chief Financial Officer of eToys Direct, Inc., an internet retailer and distributor of toys and gifts, from 2005 to 2006. Mr. Thompson currently serves on the board of directors for the Inland Newspaper Association. From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Thompson served as Vice President and Senior Vice President - Finance and IT with Crown Media Holdings, Inc., a public cable programming company with more than 100 million customers. Prior to that, Mr. Thompson was the Controller of Hallmark Cards North America from 1995 to 1999. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Thompson served as the Corporate Controller of Crown Cable, a cable multiple system operator. From 1990 to 1992, Mr. Thompson served in various positions at Hallmark Cards, Inc. in corporate financial reporting and internal audit. From 1986 to 1990 Mr. Thompson was a CPA with the accounting firm KPMG. Mr. Thompson holds master's and bachelor's degrees in accounting.

From February 1996 to April 2000, Mr. Ameden was director of Professional Services for Questra Corporation's Customer Relationship Management Practice and was responsible for developing service delivery capability for package based software implementation. From 1988 to February 1996, Mr. Ameden held numerous positions at Eastman Kodak Corporation.

Kelly M. Luvison is an Executive Vice President and has primary responsibility for our Atlantic Region. Mr. Luvison served as a regional manager for us since January 1998, was appointed a Vice President in January 2000 and Executive Vice President in April 2002. Prior to January 1998, Mr. Luvison was a regional manager for APC. Since 1996, Mr. Luvison has been publisher of The Evening Tribune in Hornell, New York, a newspaper we currently own, in addition to his duties as a regional manager and Vice President.

Brad Dennison was named Vice President of Content/News Operations in January 2007. He was formerly Vice President of News with Birmingham, Ala.-based Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Dennison has held various management positions with metro newspapers, including The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, The Daily Southtown on Chicago's South Side and the Chicago Sun-Times, where he was a lead developer for one of the first 18- to 34-year-old tabloids in the country. Earlier in his career, he served as a reporter, city editor and managing editor for community newspapers in the Midwest and South. Mr. Dennison has won numerous professional awards, including two national honors, and is a speaker and supporter of the Associated Press Managing Editors Association groundbreaking NewsTrain program.

Amy V. Kahn, SPHR became our Director of Human Resources in July 2006. She has over 18 years experience in Human Resources, including Vice President of Human Resources for AAA Rochester, New York, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for AAA Western & Central New York, Payroll/Benefit & Compensation Plans Manager at Getinge USA, Inc. and various roles of progressive responsibility at Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. and Fiserv, Inc. where she was the Assistant Vice President and Regional Manager of Human Resources. She also served as President of a Buffalo, New York based jewelry manufacturing company. In addition to her expertise in Benefits, Compensation, Employee Relations and Payroll, Amy has been instrumental in mergers, and acquisitions at several previous employers. Amy earned her MBA in Human Resources and her BA in Organizational Communication from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She obtained her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a nationally recognized certification of expertise in all areas of Human Resources, from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Amy is active in many community not-for-profit agencies and has served on several boards of directors in capacities such as President, Executive Vice President and Treasurer.

Polly G. Sack became our General Counsel in May 2006. She was formerly Senior Vice President and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions of IMG Worldwide, Inc. ("IMG"), a global sports, media and entertainment company, and had served in that capacity since 2001. Ms. Sack also served as IMG's associate counsel and a vice president from 1992 to 2001. Prior to that, she worked in private practice for a major international law firm. Ms. Sack holds bachelor's degrees in civil engineering and mathematics and a master's degree in civil engineering, in addition to a law degree.

Wesley R. Edens is the Chairman of the board of directors and the Chief Executive Officer of Fortress Investment Group LLC ( Fortress ). Mr. Edens has been a principal and the Chairman of the Management Committee of FIG LLC ( FIG ) since co-founding FIG in May 1998. Mr. Edens is responsible for the Fortress private equity and publicly traded alternative investment businesses. He is also the Chairman of the board of directors of each of Aircastle Limited, Brookdale Senior Living Inc., Eurocastle Investment Limited, GateHouse Media, Inc., Mapeley Limited and Newcastle Investment Corp. and a director of GAGFAH S.A. Mr. Edens served as the Chief Executive Officer of Newcastle Investment Corp. since inception until February 2007. Mr. Edens was the Chief Executive Officer of Global Signal Inc. from February 2004 to April 2006 and the Chairman of the board of directors from October 2002 to January 2007. Mr. Edens serves in various capacities in the following five registered investment companies: Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Trustee of Fortress Registered Investment Trust and Fortress Investment Trust II; Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fortress Brookdale Investment Fund LLC and Fortress Pinnacle Investment Fund LLC and Chief Executive Officer of RIC Coinvestment Fund LP. Prior to forming Fortress, Mr. Edens was a partner and a managing director of BlackRock Financial Management Inc., where he headed BlackRock Asset Investors, a private equity fund. In addition, Mr. Edens was formerly a partner and a managing director of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Edens received a B.S. in Finance from Oregon State University.

Caroll Stacklin has served as Director of Strategic Operations for GateHouse Media since August 2005 and is presently also serving as Acting Publisher of the Suburban Chicago Newspaper Group. Ms. Stacklin has served in various positions with GateHouse Media since 2000. Ms. Stacklin, who has over 15 years experience in the newspaper industry, held positions with the Chicago Tribune, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and Gannett Co., Inc. prior to joining GateHouse Media. Ms. Stacklin received her bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and her MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.
