Dow Jones Description
Corporate success and strength often depend on the commitments an organization makes and keeps. We've known that from the inception of GB&T Bancshares, and have forged our path with what we feel are sound, strategic commitments. First and foremost is our unwavering dedication to true community banking, where long-term customer relationships and community relations are grown and nurtured with care. We empower our people on every level with a "can-do" attitude so that they find ways whether traditional or innovative to meet their customers' needs and expectations. Sometimes that means having a mortgage lender deliver forms to someone's home. Other times, it might mean helping a small-business client solve a temporary cash-flow problem, without taking weeks to get an answer. The results show up in the many loyal customer relationships our banks count as successes. When you look around our towns, cities and communities, you'll notice bank employees involved in nearly every leadership, civic, cultural and volunteer organization all with the full support and encouragement of our individual banks. Some of us become passionate about our pet projects, like March of Dimes or United Way. If we don't raise the money in an annual campaign, we take it quite personally and make it our goal to change that outcome the next year. That kind of commitment speaks volumes about our employees. We also believe in healthy growth both geographically and internally...

The term related party transaction is generally defined as any transaction (or series of related transactions) in which the Company is a participant and the amount involved exceeds $120,000, and in which any director, director nominee, or executive officer of the Company, any holder of more than 5% of the outstanding voting securities of the Company, or any immediate family member of the foregoing persons will have a direct or indirect interest. The term includes most financial transactions and arrangements, such as loans, guarantees and sales of property, and remuneration for services rendered (as an employee, consultant or otherwise) to the Company.
