GE Transportation, one of the major businesses of General Electric Company, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electric drive systems for Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV) used in surface mining. Today, these GE systems provide propulsion for off-highway vehicles rated at 120 to 360 tons payload in over 35 countries around the world. GE introduced the industry's first DC electric drive system for an 85 ton truck in 1963 and expanded the product line to 170 ton in 1970, 190 ton and 240 ton in the early 1980's. In 1996, GE led the industry by introducing the first AC drive system, GE320AC, for the highest payload class at the time and has focused since then on developing a full portfolio of AC drive systems. Todd received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University in 1986. Following college, he completed GE's two-year Manufacturing Management Program and over the next 10 years held positions of increasing responsibility within GE culminating with roles as Manufacturing Manager & Supplier Quality Manager at GE Transportation Systems in Erie, PA. Todd had a significant role in GE's successful ISO 9001 certification program, was trained as a Six Sigma Green Belt, and received corporate management awards for Inventory Management, New Program Implementation, and Organizational Leadership. Todd was also intimately involved with GE's corporate training and recruiting initiatives. Annual activities included conducting week-long professional development sessions at Crotonville, GE's executive management training facility and leading GE's Technical Leadership Program for which he also received corporate recognition. As 1998 ended Todd made a career change and founded his own career services firm in the Buffalo area specializing in resume development, career counseling, interview training, and placement services. He accepted the position of Career Transition Counselor and Coach for RW Caldwell in January 2003.
