Dr. Eastman has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Gene Logic (NASDAQ: GLGC) since July 2000. From August 1997 to July 2000, Dr. Eastman served as Vice President, Technology Management. From September 1996 to August 1997, Dr. Eastman served as Vice President, Scientific Operations. From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Eastman was Director, Gene Expression and Process Research and Development at GeneMedicine, Inc., a gene therapy company. Dr. Eastman also served as Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer of Lark Sequencing Technologies from 1989 to 1993, and as Director of Molecular Biology and Immunoassay Development at BIOTX, Inc., from 1986 to 1988. Dr. Eastman earned a Ph.D. in human genetics and development from Columbia University college of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Eastman also received a B.A. in biology from Middlebury College and an M.S. in genetics and cell biology from the University of Connecticut, Storrs.

F. Dudley Staples, Jr. has served as our Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel since May 2002. From prior to March 2000 to May 2001, Mr. Staples served as General Counsel of Online Office Supplies Company, an online seller of office supplies and subsidiary of eCommerce Industries, Inc., and then as Associate General Counsel of eCommerce Industries, Inc. Mr. Staples holds a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. L ouis A. Tartaglia, Ph.D. was appointed Chief Scientific Officer in February 2007. Prior to that appointment, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Drug Repositioning and Selection beginning in January 2005. Dr. Tartaglia joined Gene Logic in July 2004 following Gene Logic's acquisition of certain technologies from Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. From 2002 to 2004, Dr. Tartaglia served as Vice President of New Ventures at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. From 1999 to 2002, he served as Vice President of Metabolic Diseases. Dr. Stephen Donahue has been with Ore Pharmaceuticals since 2007 and is responsible for leading the Company’s clinical development program. His background includes all phases of clinical drug development and regulatory affairs. He has achieved board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology. Previously, Dr. Donahue was VP, Clinical Research and Operations at Epix Pharmaceuticals, where he headed the pharmaceutical clinical development, clinical operations and regulatory affairs. Before Epix, Dr. Donahue served with Merck & Co., Inc. as Medical Director, Clinical Research, Atherosclerosis and Metabolism. He also held positions of increasing responsibility with Bristol-Myers Squibb in the departments of Clinical Design/Evaluation, and Clinical Pharmacology/ Experimental Medicine. He has developed drugs in several different therapeutic areas and has worked on products such as Vytorin®, Pravachol®, and Glucophage®. Dr. Donahue holds an M.D. from Georgetown University, and was an NIH Fellow in Clinical Pharmacology at Georgetown University Medical Center.
Dr. Thomas Barnes has been with Gene Logic since 2004. Prior to joining the Company, he held several senior positions within Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, he led Millennium's development and application of genomic technologies for downstream drug development. Previously he led Millennium's biotherapeutics discovery effort. He has held academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and McGill University, using classical and molecular genetics to study nervous system development and function and genome organization. Dr. Barnes obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Cambridge, UK.

Mr. John A. Herrmann III is Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Licensing as well as Ore Pharmaceuticals’ business counsel. He has been a member of the business development and licensing teams that negotiated and executed the drug repositioning agreements with all of Ore Pharmaceuticals’ current pharmaceutical partners. Prior to joining the Company, he held counsel positions at several biotechnology and healthcare companies, including four years as senior business counsel at Celera Genomics and eight years at Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Mr. Herrmann earned his J.D. at the University of Illinois.
Mr. Meglan, a Certified Public Accountant, serves as Vice President of Accounting at Gene Logic, a publicly-traded, high-tech biotechnology firm located in Gaithersburg. In the community, he served as treasurer of Advocates for Homeless Families, Inc. of Frederick. Trained as a chemist, Mr. Meglan is also an MBA in finance and an MA in communications.

Dr. Luz-Maria Guzman is responsible for the Genomic Pharmacology platform in the Indication-Seeking Program at Ore Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Guzman was Senior Scientist at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where she joined the Drug Repositioning founding team in development and start-up efforts. She previously led scientific and technology development programs in diverse areas including, early and late stage antibacterial drug discovery and personalized medicine. Before Millennium, she implemented an antibacterial discovery program at Genome Therapeutics. During her postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Guzman was awarded a Merck Sharp & Dohme Fellowship to study bacterial cell division and became a recognized expert in bacterial expression. Dr. Guzman received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from CINVESTAV/University of Texas Southwestern GSBM. She has authored 20 publications and filed nine patents.
Dr. John Byrnes is the Head of In Vivo Pharmacology. His role includes management of a range of animal studies to support drug discovery programs and progression of development candidates. Dr. Byrnes comes to the Company from Tufts University School of Medicine where he served as Director of Operations for the Animal Behavior Research Core and Research Assistant Professor of Neuroscience. Prior to Tufts, he held positions in the Neurobiology and Metabolic Disease programs at Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Byrnes holds adjunct faculty positions at Tufts Medical School (Department of Pharmacology) and the University of Massachusetts Boston (Department of Psychology), and has served as a behavioral pharmacology consultant for a number of Cambridge-based companies. Dr. Byrnes received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Ohio State University. His research interests include the brain mechanisms psychiatric disorders and the neuropharmacology of psychotropic drugs. Dr. Byrnes is a journal and book reviewer, author of 18 publications, and a member of several scientific societies.

Dr. Robert Coopersmith is responsible for In Silico Biology in the Indication-Seeking Program at Ore Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this position, he was the leader of the bioinformatics group at UCB Pharma where he oversaw genomics-based microarray discovery projects in the CNS therapeutic area. Dr. Coopersmith has been responsible for bioinformatics functions at several leading biotechnology companies, including Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Incyte Genomics. He has also held research and teaching positions at Mclean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston College, and SUNY at Binghamton, NY. Dr. Coopersmith received a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Psychobiology) from the University of California, Irvine. He has authored 25 publications and filed four patents.
