Frederick (Fritz) A. Henderson was elected GM president and chief executive officer and a director of the corporation, effective March 29, 2009. He had been GM president and chief operating officer since March 3, 2008. He was vice chairman and chief financial officer from January 1, 2006, to March 2, 2008. Henderson also serves as chairman of GM’s Automotive Strategy Board and is a member of GM’s Automotive Product Board. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 29, 1958, Henderson earned a bachelor of business administration degree with high distinction from the University of Michigan in 1980, with an emphasis in accounting and finance. He was a pitcher on the varsity baseball team in 1978-1979. He also received a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School in 1984, where he graduated as a George F. Baker Scholar. Henderson started his career at General Motors in 1984 as a senior analyst in the Treasurer's office in New York. After holding a variety of financial assignments, he was transferred to GMAC in 1989 as director of mortgage banking. He was promoted to several positions of increasing responsibility until becoming GMAC group vice president of finance in Detroit in 1992. In 1994, he was appointed executive in charge of operations for the former Automotive Components Group in Pontiac, Michigan, and then became a GM vice president and general manager of Delphi Saginaw in May 1996. From 1997 to 2000, Henderson was GM vice president and managing director of GM do Brasil with responsibilities for GM operations in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. In June 2000, Henderson was named group vice president and president of GM Latin America, Africa and Middle East (LAAM) headquartered in Florida, and in January 2002, he moved to Singapore as president of GM Asia Pacific. In 2004, Henderson assumed responsibility for GM's European operations as GM group vice president and chairman of GM Europe, based in Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to graduate school, Henderson was a certified public accountant, working for PriceWaterhouse in Detroit, Michigan. He received the William A. Paton Award for achieving the highest score in Michigan on the May 1980 CPA examination; he also received the Elijah Watt Sells Award for attaining one of the top 100 scores in the U.S. Henderson serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alfred P. Michael A. Grimaldi, who had been president and general manager of General Motors of Canada Limited since January 2002, was appointed president and chief executive officer of GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GMDAT), effective August 1, 2006. In his new position, Grimaldi is also a member of the GM Asia Pacific Strategy Board. He has been a corporate vice president since 1995. Grimaldi began his GM career in 1976 and advanced through positions in product/business planning, corporate finance, engineering/manufacturing project management, and assistant to the vice chairman. In 1987, Grimaldi was appointed chief financial officer at Pontiac Division and, in 1988, the chief financial officer at Oldsmobile Division. Nancy Everett is chief executive officer of Promark Global Advisors (formerly General Motors Asset Management). She is responsible for more than $130 billion in assets held by the General Motors benefit plans and several non-affiliated clients. Everett joined Promark Global Advisors as chief investment officer in June 2005. She assumed the additional responsibility of chief executive officer in January 2006. Previously, she was chief investment officer for the Virginia Retirement System where she oversaw the investment of the $42 billion pension fund. Everett was born in Ithaca, New York. Arturo S. Elias was appointed president and managing director of General Motors of Canada, Ltd., effective August 1, 2006. He is also a member of the North America Strategy Board. Elias joined General Motors in 1978 as a manufacturing engineer with Delco Electronics, today part of Delphi, a major GM supplier. His responsibilities at Delco extended from product development to manufacturing engineering and included an assignment in Singapore. Between 1984 and 1991, Elias held various finance positions in several countries, including senior analyst with GM Treasurer's Office in New York; manager of European borrowings & foreign exchange in Brussels, Belgium; treasurer of GM de Mexico in Mexico City; and finance director of GM Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1993, Elias became managing director of GM Chile in Santiago, Chile, and his responsibilities were expanded in 1994 to include Peru and Bolivia. Chet Huber is president of OnStar Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation. He was appointed to the position in June 1995. A native of Hammond, Indiana, Huber attended General Motors Institute, now Kettering University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Upon graduation, he was selected as a GM fellow and attended Harvard University where he earned a master's degree in business administration. Huber joined GM's Electro-Motive Division as a co-op engineering student in 1972 and held a variety of engineering, operations, and marketing roles before joining OnStar. His positions included director of the aftermarket business; general director of aftermarket parts and service; and general director of sales, marketing, and product support. Grace D. Lieblein was appointed president and managing director of GM de Mexico on December 1, 2008. She had been global vehicle chief engineer - front-wheel-drive trucks for the product development organization since October 1, 2004. Lieblein began her GM career in 1978 as a co-op student at General Motors Assembly Division in Los Angeles, California. She remained a co-op in Los Angeles until 1980, when she transferred to Oldsmobile in Lansing, Michigan, and was named industrial engineer in 1984. In 1990, she was assigned to the position of superintendent of manufacturing with the Buick-Oldsmobile-Chevrolet Group in Warren, Michigan. Jaime Ardila was appointed president and managing director of GM do Brasil on November 1, 2007. He is a member of the LAAM Regional Strategy Board and responsible for GM Mercosur operations. Prior to this position, Ardila was GM LAAM vice president and chief financial officer beginning March 1, 2003. Ardila was born in Pereira, Colombia, on July 24, 1955. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogota, Colombia, in 1977, and a master's degree from the London School of Economics in 1981. Karl Slym became president and managing director of GM India on October 1, 2007. He had been vice president of quality for GM Asia Pacific and GM Daewoo since January 1, 2006. Slym had earlier served as president and a member of the board of directors of CAMI Automotive, General Motors' Canadian joint venture with Suzuki Motor Manufacturing Corporation, since September 2002. Prior to that, he had been plant manager of GM of Canada's Oshawa car plants 1 and 2 in Ontario, Canada. Slym was awarded a Sloan Fellowship from GM and in 2002 earned a master of science degree in business administration from Stanford University. He graduated in 1984 from his post-secondary education in production engineering at England's Derby University. Slym began his career with GM in 1995 as a lean manufacturing advisor at the Opel Eisenach operation in Germany. He then moved on to general assembly manager at the same facility before becoming director of manufacturing for the new Opel Polska plant development in Gliwice, Poland, in 1997. In 1999, he moved to GM of Canada as assistant plant manager for both car plants, the first of his two assignments in Oshawa, ending in 2001 when he became plant manager. Kevin E. Wale was appointed president and managing director of the GM China Group, effective May 1, 2005. Based in Shanghai, Wale is responsible for the overall coordination of GM's extensive operations in mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Wale most recently served as vice president of General Motors Europe and chairman and managing director of Vauxhall Motors Ltd., responsible for GM's U.K. operations, since November 2002. He had additional responsibilities leading GM Europe's commercial vehicle activities, since October 2004. Wale began his GM career with Holden, the automaker's Australian unit, in 1975, working in various roles within the company's finance department. After completing studies at the General Motors Institute (GMI) in the United States, he moved to the GM Financial Staff in New York, where he worked between 1983 and 1985. Mark Reuss was appointed president and managing director of GM Holden Ltd, effective February 1, 2008. Reuss oversees GM's operations in Australia and New Zealand. He also serves on the GM Asia Pacific Strategy Board. Reuss began his career with General Motors in 1983 as a university student intern with the Noise Vibration Laboratory at the Milford Proving Ground, where he developed valve trains for V6 engines. He joined the former Flint Automotive Division in 1986 as an associate car development engineer for powertrain calibration, and then became a project engineer, developing the ride and handling for many GM luxury car programs. Reuss was named senior project engineer, body engineering, in 1990 and worked as a body shop product and process engineer on bodyside frame metal in the large front-drive plants, launching new body shops until 1994. He was then named total vehicle engineer of the Oldsmobile Aurora and Buick Riviera later that same year, followed by total vehicle engineer positions on the Buick Park Avenue, Buick LeSabre, Oldsmobile Aurora, and Pontiac Bonneville. Reuss was then appointed vehicle line director for crossovers, with total responsibility for the crossover programs and launch at GM's Ramos Arizpe facility in Mexico. Reuss was named executive director, architecture engineering and GM Performance Division in June 2001. He started the new GM Performance Division and launched associated production and racing vehicles. This responsibility included all production engineering in the creative design studios and concept vehicle production for auto shows. In October 2005, Reuss was appointed executive director of North America vehicle systems and architecture. He held all release engineering responsibilities for North America vehicles in all functions of the vehicle. The following year, he was named executive director of global vehicle integration, safety, and virtual development. He had responsibility for all areas of vehicle integration/performance, safety, and math design/analysis application for GM product programs worldwide. Born on October 19, 1963, Reuss received a bachelor of engineering degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1986 and a master's degree in business administration from Duke University in 1990. He is a certified industry pool test driver on the North Course of the famed Nürburgring motorsport race track in Nürburg, Germany, and has earned his license for Grand American Road Racing. He is member of the Horizon Upward Bound/Cranbrook Schools Board of Directors and a member of the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering Board of Visitors. Troy A. Clarke has been president of GM North America and GM group vice president since July 1, 2006. Clarke had served as president of GM Asia Pacific and GM group vice president from June 2004. He earlier was GM group vice president of manufacturing and labor relations beginning in June 2002. During that time, he was responsible for North America vehicle manufacturing, vehicle operations, the Metal Fabricating Division, and labor relations. He served as GM's chief negotiator for the 2003 United Auto Workers labor negotiations in North America. Clarke had been vice president of labor relations since January 2001. Before taking the labor relations post, Clarke was president and managing director of GM de Mexico and a GM corporate vice president since January 1998. He had been senior vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer for The Interpublic Group of Companies Inc. in New York. At Interpublic Group, Cyprus developed a world-class controllers organization, led the company's compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, and oversaw its financial control processes worldwide. Prior to that, Cyprus was vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer from 1999 to 2004 at AT&T Corporation, where he held several positions over 22 years. Before he joined AT&T in 1982, Cyprus worked as a senior financial analyst for Amerada Hess Corporation in New York, as a senior corporate internal auditor for Suburban Propane in New Jersey, and as a staff auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York. Cyprus holds a master's degree in business administration from New York University's Stern School of Business and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. Ray Wexler became chief tax officer of General Motors Corporation August 1, 2006. He has management oversight responsibility for GM's Tax Staff and reports to Fritz Henderson, GM vice chairman and chief financial officer. Before joining GM, Wexler retired after 33 years with the Chicago-based law firm of Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a senior partner specializing in corporate tax law. Wexler has been internationally recognized for his expertise in cross-border transfer pricing, foreign tax credit utilization, and the double tax provisions of international tax treaties. In the scope of his practice, he has provided tax counseling and tax litigation services for large American and foreign multinational corporations. Beginning in 1985, he represented GM and its subsidiaries in a number of significant tax matters Wexler holds a bachelor of arts degree from Washington University (1964) and a juris doctor degree from Washington University (1967). After graduating from law school, he served in the United States Navy as a lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to law school and earned a master of laws (LLM) degree in taxation from New York University, before beginning his career with Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago. Dan Hancock was named GM Powertrain vice president, global engineering, effective March 1, 2005. He represents GM Powertrain on GM's North America Strategy Board. Hancock was born on August 10, 1950, in Indiana, U.S.A. He received a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1973 and a bachelor's degree also in mechanical engineering from the General Motors Institute, Michigan, in 1974. He joined General Motors in 1968 and held various engineering positions within Allison Transmission Division, which became later Detroit Diesel Allison Division in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1983, he became chief engineer for two-cycle diesels at Detroit Diesel Allison Division in Redford, Michigan. In 1987, he joined the Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM of Canada Group as chief engineer of advanced powertrain and became technical director in 1991. One year later, he was appointed chief engineer for V6 and V8 engines. In 1994, he was appointed director, transmission engineering, GM Powertrain. In 1997, he returned to Indianapolis where he was named president, Allison Transmission Division. He was named chief executive officer, Fiat-GM Powertrain, in 2000 and was based in Turin, Italy. Hancock is currently chairman of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Foundation Board of Trustees. He served as president of the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA), from 2004 to 2006.

Dennis (Denny) M. Mooney assumed the newly created position GM vice president, global vehicle systems and integration, August 1, 2007. Diana D. Tremblay was appointed General Motors North America vice president of labor relations, effective January 1, 2006. Prior to that, she was executive director, labor relations - UAW, since September 1, 2004. Tremblay began work at GM as a college co-op student at Central Foundry in Defiance, Ohio, in July 1977. She held manufacturing and engineering positions with GM's Powertrain division at Defiance and Toledo, Ohio, and Pontiac and Saginaw, Michigan, from 1983 to 1996. She was appointed to executive-manufacturing in the Automotive Components Group in 1990. In 1996, she was appointed director of labor relations for the corporate labor relations staff in Detroit. In December 2000, Tremblay began an international service personnel assignment as manufacturing director, Luton, at Vauxhall Motors Limited in the United Kingdom, and, in 2002, she was appointed plant manager, Opel Belgium, in Antwerp. Tremblay holds a bachelor's degree in industrial administration from Kettering University and, as a Sloan Fellow, received a master's degree in business management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Douglas J. "Doug" Herberger was appointed GM North America vice president and Service and Parts Operations general manager, effective February 1, 2002. Herberger began his GM career in 1973 with the former Harrison Division in Lockport, NY, as a college graduate in training. In 1976, he joined the GM Financial staff in Detroit where he held a variety of analyst and senior analyst positions. From 1980 to 1983, Herberger held several supervisory positions on the former Fisher Body Division's Financial and Business Planning staffs in Warren, Mich. In 1983, he returned to the GM Financial staff as director of cost analysis, and the following year he was named a director in GM's Treasurer's Office. In 1985, Herberger was appointed assistant divisional comptroller for the former Fisher Guide Division and the next year became director of Business Operations. In 1987, he was named executive assistant to the group executive-in-charge of component operations for GM's Automotive Components Group Worldwide (now known as Delphi). Herberger was appointed general director of costing and measurement systems on the GM Comptroller's staff in 1988 and was named divisional comptroller of the Central Foundry Division, now part of GM Powertrain, Saginaw, Mich., in 1990. He joined GM Service Parts Operations in 1992 as general director of finance and a year later was named general director of Consumer Related Aftermarket. Herberger was appointed general director of ACDelco Aftermarket in May 1996. The following year he was named president of General Motors Japan and a member of the Asia Pacific Strategy Board. Herberger repatriated to the United States in 1998 to his most recent assignment.

Ed Peper was appointed North American Vice President of Chevrolet in June, 2008. Previously, he was General Manager of Chevrolet, Regional General Manager for General Motors Northeast Region and Vice President of Sales for Saab Cars, USA. Peper joined General Motors in 1984 as a Cadillac sales representative. Throughout his twenty-four year career, he held many different field sales and marketing management positions with Cadillac Motor Car Division. Prior to taking the Saab position in February 2003, he held the positions of Chevrolet Regional Divisional Marketing Manager and Regional Sales Manager for the GM Northeast Region. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Peper received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College in 1984 with a major in English. Peper also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago. Peper is a member of the Detroit Economic Club, and is a Safe Kids Worldwide corporate advisory board member. He is also a member of the Hillsdale College Athletic Hall of Fame and was a Hillsdale College Distinguished Alumni Award recipient in 2007. Edward T. Welburn was appointed GM vice president, global design, on March 1, 2005. He had been vice president of design, GM North America, since October 1, 2003, when he became only the sixth design leader in GM history. As vice president of global design, Welburn is responsible for the design development of all General Motors cars and trucks. He heads a team of over 1,400 men and women operating in 11 design centers in eight countries around the world. Under his direction, GM has walked away from the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit with the coveted 2007 Car and Truck of the Year awards for the Saturn Aura and Chevrolet Silverado, the 2008 Car of the Year award for the Chevrolet Malibu, the 2008 Motor Trend Car of the Year for Cadillac CTS, and the 2008 Eyes on Design awards for both the CTS-V and CTS Coupe Concept. Also under Welburn's leadership, GM designed and developed the revolutionary Chevy Volt, the world's first extended-range electric vehicle whose advanced technology and aerodynamic design enable it to drive up to 40 miles without using a drop of gasoline or producing emissions. In addition, the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid won the 2008 Green Car of the Year award. Welburn began his General Motors career in 1972 as an associate designer assigned to the Advanced Design Studios. In 1973, Welburn joined the Buick Exterior Studio, and in 1975, he was assigned to the Oldsmobile Exterior Studio. There he led the development of a number of successful production vehicles and designed the Oldsmobile Aerotech speed-record vehicle, which set two world's records of more than 257 miles per hour in 1987. He was named chief designer of the Oldsmobile Studio in 1989. Projects there included the Oldsmobile Antares concept car and the Oldsmobile Intrigue, both of which received AutoWeek magazine awards at NAIAS. In 1996, Welburn began a two-year assignment at Saturn, which led to an overseas assignment in Germany where he worked on future global design programs. Welburn was named director of GM's Advanced Design in Warren, Michigan, in 1998. His team was responsible for the development of new and innovative vehicles for all GM brands. Welburn's team also led the development of all GM concept vehicles, including the Chevy SSR and the Chevy Bel Air show car, along with a new generation of hydrogen fuel cell concepts - GM AUTOnomy and Hy-wire. Welburn was appointed executive director of design, body-on-frame architectures, in January of 2002. In this position, he was responsible for the three truck studios at the GM Design Center in Warren. Projects included the HUMMER H3 and the latest generation of full-size trucks that reached the market in 2006. A native of Philadelphia, Welburn was born on December 14, 1950. He received a bachelor's degree in 1972 from the College of Fine Arts at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he studied sculpture and product design. Today, Welburn is General Motors key executive to Howard University and serves on the board of governors at the Cranbrook Institute of Science and on the board of directors of the LeMay Museum. Welburn has received honors and special recognition from Rainbow PUSH, African Americans on Wheels Magazine, and Black Enterprise magazine. In 2004, he was named the Howard University Alumni of the Year. In May 2008, he received the Man of Excellence Award from the Michigan Chronicle and made the list of The Ebony Power 150: The Most Influential Blacks in America as recognized by Ebony magazine. He also serves as the General Motors Chinese Affinity Group Leadership Liaison. In January 2009, Welburn will receive the Distinguished Service Citation from the Automotive Hall of Fame, which recognizes an individual's significant contribution to the auto industry.

Eric R. Stevens has been vice president, manufacturing, General Motors Europe, since January 1, 2006. Prior to this appointment, Stevens was executive director, manufacturing, General Motors Europe, since July, 2004. Stevens was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 28, 1955. He received a bachelor of arts (honors) degree from Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1977 and a master's degree in international affairs in 1979 from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Stevens began his career with General Motors in 1978 in GM's Canadian headquarters facilities in Oshawa, Ontario. He progressed through a variety of assignments in materials management, quality, and manufacturing, including responsibilities in GM's export operations in quality and engineering liaison for overseas assembly plants. In 1986, he was transferred to GM of Canada's Finance Staff and remained there until 1988, when he was assigned to a new General Motors-Suzuki joint venture in Ingersoll, Canada. In 1991, Stevens became director of quality and reliability at Opel España, in Zaragoza, Spain. From December 1993 to February 1997, he was president of Opel Eisenach and directed that operation through much of its early years. He then moved to Zurich to become executive director, lean manufacturing. In this position, building upon the experience from Eisenach, he was responsible for planning and implementation of GM's five new plants around the globe at that time: Gravatai (Brazil), Gliwice (Poland), Rayong (Thailand), Rosario (Argentina), and Shanghai (China). In September 2000, he moved to Canada as plant manager of the Oshawa car assembly plant, before being appointed executive director, manufacturing engineering for GM, based in Warren, Michigan. Since July 2004 until his current assignment, Stevens was executive director, manufacturing, for General Motors Europe, based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Gary A. White is the GM North America vice president and vehicle line executive of General Motors' full size trucks. In this capacity, he has lead management and product development responsibility for the company's current and future products in the full size pickup and SUV markets, specifically light-duty and heavy-duty pickups marketed under the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra brands and full size sport utility vehicles marketed under the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Denali, Cadillac Escalade, and HUMMER H2 brands. White was appointed vice president of GM North America in 2002. Born in Akron, Ohio, on November 29, 1950, and raised in Lakewood, Ohio, White earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute (GMI), now Kettering University, in 1973. In 1991, he earned a master of science degree in management from Stanford University. White joined GM at the former Fisher Body Division plant in Lordstown, Ohio. He subsequently transferred to Buick Motor Division where he had progressive supervisory engineering responsibilities for the division from 1969 through 1982. In 1985, White was promoted to manager of program management for the Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac Group's Flint Automotive Division. He was named manager-chassis/HVAC systems in 1987, and then planning director for the division in 1991. In 1993, White was named program director of large luxury cars for the Cadillac Luxury Car Division. He was promoted to general engineering and planning manager for the Oldsmobile Division in 1994. White was appointed vehicle line executive of high-midsize cars in 1995 and oversaw the development and market introduction of the Chevrolet Impala, the position he held until his appointment as vehicle line executive of GM's full size trucks in 1999.

Hans H. Demant has been GM Europe vice president, engineering, since December 1, 2001, and managing director of Adam Opel since June 18, 2004. As head of the International Technical Development Center (ITDC) in Rüsselsheim, Germany, he is responsible for all General Motors engineering activities in Europe. Demant was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, on September 21, 1950, and has a master's degree in engineering from Darmstadt Technical University. He started his career at Adam Opel in product development and subsequently worked at General Motors Advanced Engineering in Warren, Michigan. He returned to the ITDC in Rüsselsheim in 1985 and, in 1989, became project manager for the entire Corsa line-up, before being named staff engineer for concept development and advanced engineering in 1992. In 1997, Demant was appointed Opel's vehicle line executive for small cars, which specifically included responsibility for the company's successful Corsa and Agila models. He has been a member of the Opel Management Board since June 1999.

J. Christopher (Chris) Preuss was named Vice President, Communications, for GM Europe on February 1, 2008. In this capacity, he is responsible for all external and internal communications activities for GM's European operations, including the Saab, Opel, Vauxhall and Chevrolet brands. He also serves as a member of the Europe Strategy Board. Chris is based at GM Europe’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. He also continues to direct communications activities for GM’s Global Product Development organization. Chris is a member of the Environment Strategy Board as well as GM’s Communications Strategy Board. Chris Preuss was born on February 13, 1966 in Livonia, Michigan, U.S.A. and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from Michigan State University, Michigan, U.S.A. Preuss began his career at the Campbell and Company agency in 1989 with a focus on motor sports marketing and PR. From there, he joined DMB&B Advertising as an account supervisor on GM Corporate and Cadillac Division public relations accounts in 1990. Having worked on a variety of product and promotional programs at DMB&B, Preuss then moved to Golin Harris Communications of Chicago as an Account Director on Chrysler Corporation business in 1992. He was hired directly by Chrysler in 1993 and worked in several jobs within Chrysler’s Communications department, including the Washington office, until being hired by GM in 1998 as Director of Cadillac Division Communications. From 2001, Preuss served as the Director of Product Development Communications, before being named Director of Government Policy and Washington Communications in 2002. In May 2006, he was appointed GM Executive Director of Global Product and Brand Communications.

James E. Queen was named GM group vice president of global engineering on April 1, 2007. Queen continues to lead GM's vehicle engineering operations worldwide for which he assumed responsibility in March 2005. He had been GM vice president of GM North America Engineering since July 2001. Previously, Queen was vice president of vehicle systems since January 2001, vice president and group director of engineering for GM North America Car Group since 1999, and group director of engineering for the GM Small Car Group since 1997. Queen began his career with General Motors in 1977 as a salaried employee-in-training with the Buick Motor Division in Flint, Michigan. While at Buick, he held a number of engineering assignments with increasing responsibility. In 1985, Queen was named manager of customer satisfaction and engineering activities. Queen transferred to the Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac Car Group Powertrain Division in Detroit in 1986 as a senior staff engineer, and in 1988, he joined the division's operations in Lansing, Michigan, as assistant chief engineer. He was subsequently named chief engineer of the Quad-4 engine, and in 1991, he was appointed assistant chief engineer for the Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac Lansing Automotive Division. In 1995, he was promoted to the position of engineering director for North American operations chassis/electrical/interior engineering activities at the GM Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. Queen was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on February 4, 1949. He earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautical and aerospace engineering at the United States Naval Academy in 1971. He served with the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1977. Queen participated in the Amos Tuck Executive Development Program at Dartmouth College in 1990.

John R. Buttermore was named GM Powertrain vice president, global manufacturing, effective January 1, 2006. He is responsible for all activities related to GM Powertrain's manufacturing. He reports to Tom Stephens, group vice president of GM Powertrain. Buttermore began his GM career in 1978 after serving with the U.S. Navy as a special operations officer. His first GM assignment was in manufacturing engineering with the Rochester Products Division in Rochester, New York. He subsequently held numerous positions in manufacturing engineering before being promoted to chief engineer of process engineering in 1986. The following year, Buttermore transferred to the Grand Rapids Operations at AC Rochester in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and became plant manager. In 1989, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, as director of product engineering at Allison Transmission, and in 1993, he was promoted to general director of plant operations. The following year, he was appointed group director of manufacturing engineering at GM Powertrain headquarters. In 1996, Buttermore became the manufacturing manager for GM's engine plants in the United States. He was named manufacturing manager, vehicle assembly plants in 2002, and later that year was appointed GM North America vice president of labor relations. He gained recognition for his work in overseeing the 2003 national contract negotiations with the United Auto Workers and the 2005 landmark health-care agreement with the UAW. Buttermore received a bachelor of science degree in 1973 from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Rochester in 1984. He completed the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development in 1989 and the American Graduate School of International Management in 1996.

Jonathan Browning was appointed GM vice president, global sales, service and marketing, on June 1, 2008. He is responsible for developing and integrating sales, service, and marketing activities across GM's four geographic regions. Browning had been vice president, sales, marketing and aftersales, for GM Europe since December 1, 2001. In this role, he led GM's European revenue generating, brand development, and customer care activities for all brands across the region. He was also chairman of Vauxhall Motors Ltd. from May 2005. Browning was born in Taunton, in the United Kingdom, on June 21, 1959. He gained a degree in industrial economics from Nottingham University and subsequently a master's degree in business administration from Duke University in the United States. He began his career with General Motors in 1981, when he joined Vauxhall Motors in the U.K. There, he held successively senior appointments in sales, marketing, and general management. In 1992, Browning became managing director of General Motors Turkey and, in 1993, he was appointed executive director marketing for GM Europe, based in Zurich. Between 1997 and 2001, Browning worked for Ford Motor Company, where he was initially responsible for European marketing and then held global responsibility as managing director of Jaguar Cars Ltd. During his leadership of GM Europe's sales, marketing, and service activities, GM Europe established new record sales for vehicles and aftersales; launched the Chevrolet brand across Europe, making it the fastest growing brand in Europe in 2007; and saw the GM group achieve the highest growth in 2007 of any manufacturer group across Europe.

Joseph D. Spielman has integrated his education and his career since enrolling at Kettering/GMI in 1963. He has maintained his connection to the university in many ways. Currently vice president and general manager of vehicle manufacturing for General Motors Corporation-North American Operations, Spielman has also served GM as general manager for the Metal Fabricating, the Midsize Car division, and the Rear Drive Automotive Division in addition to various other supervisory positions. An avid Corvette enthusiast, Spielman has been instrumental in keeping the Corvette in production at GM and is credited for adding more powerful engine options. He was inducted into the National Corvette Hall of Fame in 2001. He is considered one of Kettering's most important corporate friends, servingsince 1999 as Kettering's key executive at General Motors. Kathleen (Katy) S. Barclay is General Motors vice president of global human resources with responsibilities for leading the company's worldwide human resources. Barclay reports to GM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rick Wagoner and is a member of GM's Automotive Strategy Board. She was elected to the position on October 1, 1998. Born in Milwaukee and raised in Detroit, Barclay began her GM career in 1978 and has held several leadership positions in the areas of salaried compensation and policy, human resources planning, leadership development, education relations, and talent acquisition. Prior to her current position, Barclay was general director of human resource management at GM North America Operations. Other positions held included director of human resources for GM's Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing organization; GM director of compensation; manager of executive compensation for the former Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM of Canada (C-P-C) Group; manager of labor relations for C-P-C; and manager of salaried personnel corporate staffs. Between 1981 and 1985, Barclay left GM to join Southland Corporation, where she held retail management positions in Reno and Chicago before being named compensation manager for the Milwaukee-based Allen-Bradley Company. Barclay received a bachelor's degree in business from Michigan State University (MSU). She earned a master's of business administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) through the Sloan Fellowship program. Barclay was named a Fellow with the National Academy of Human Resources and inducted into the Class of 2000. Academy members select Fellows based on their achievements, sustained excellence, and contributions to the human resources field. In 2005, Human Resource Executive magazine named Barclay one of the top 25 most powerful women in HR. That same year, Automotive News named her one of the 100 leading women in the North American auto industry. Barclay is a member of the National Academy of Human Resources Board of Directors, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Board of Directors, PACE (Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education) Council, and ORC Worldwide's Cowdrick Group Steering Committee. Barclay is past president of the MSU Eli Broad School of Business Alumni Board, a past board member of the Henry Ford Health System, and a former member of the MIT Sloan Fellows Board of Governors.

Cole oversees all of GM's global government relations activities and public policy issues that impact the company, as well as ensuring their integration within GM's business operations. Cole joined GM in 2001 as vice president for government relations. Before joining GM, Cole served as corporate vice president of government relations for AlliedSignal, Inc., from 1983 and later with Honeywell, following the merger of the two corporations. He joined the Allied Corporation in 1981 in its Union Texas Petroleum subsidiary in Houston as vice president of Public Affairs. Prior to that, Cole had an eight-year career with Amoco Corporation as regional director of Public and Government Affairs. He served as southwest regional counsel for the American Insurance Association. Cole currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society, National Foreign Trade Council, Public Affairs Council, Council of Public Affairs Executives, European Institute, The Bryce Harlow Foundation, and Meridian House. He is past president of the Business-Government Relations Council and the National Association of Business Political Action Committees. Williams began his GM career in 1983 as a reliability analyst at Buick City in Flint, Michigan. In 1989, he became the general supervisor of production at the Lansing Craft Centre in Lansing, Michigan; and, in 1991, he was appointed program readiness manager for GM's EV1 electric vehicle program. In 1993, he became a reliability engineer with the former North America Truck Group. In 1995, he became the assistant production superintendent at the Janesville Assembly Plant in Janesville, Wisconsin; and, in 1996, was promoted to area manager of general assembly. Williams was born on September 27, 1961, and raised in Lexington Park, Maryland. He earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Tennessee State University in 1983 and a master's degree in business administration from Central Michigan University in 1989. Larry Burns is vice president of General Motors Research & Development and Strategic Planning. In this post, he oversees GM's advanced technology, innovation programs, and corporate strategy. He is a member of GM’s Automotive Strategy Board and Automotive Product Board. In addition to driving innovation into today's vehicles, Burns is championing GM's "reinvention" of the automobile around advanced propulsion, electronics, telematics, and materials technologies. The goal is to realize sustainable mobility with vehicles that are aspirational and affordable. Burns began his career in 1969 as a member of the Research & Development staff, where his research focused on transportation, logistics, and production systems. He subsequently held executive positions in several GM divisions in the areas of product program management, quality, production control, industrial engineering, and product and business planning. In May 1998, he was named a vice president of General Motors, with responsibility for R&D and Planning. Burns holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He also has a master's degree in engineering/public policy from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). Burns is a member of the USCAR Operating Council and the FreedomCAR Partnership Executive Steering Committee. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Midwest Research Institute and serves on the board of the University of Michigan’s Automotive Research Center and the External Advisory Board for its Michigan Memorial Phoenix Energy Institute. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rochester Institute of Technology, the Advisory Council for the University of California Berkeley’s Institute of Transportation Studies, and the Advisory Board for the Tennenbaum Institute at Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2000, Burns received Kettering University’s Engineering Alumni Achievement Award for his contributions to the engineering profession. In 2002, the Deafness Research Foundation recognized him with its National Campaign for Hearing Health Leadership Award. He served as National Honorary Chairman for the MATHCOUNTS Foundation during 2004 and 2005. In 2005, he was a member of a General Motors team awarded the Franz Edelman Award from the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Burns is also the recipient of the 2005 Alumni Merit Award from the University of Michigan Industrial and Operations Engineering Department. In 2007, he was awarded the ASM International Medal for the Advancement of Research and the Society of Plastics Engineers Global Engineering Leadership Award. In 2008, he received the Golden Gear Award from the Washington Automotive Press Association and the Industry Pioneer Award from the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute.

Mary Barra was appointed GM vice president, global manufacturing engineering on February 1, 2008. Barra reports to Gary L. Cowger, GM group vice president, global manufacturing and labor relations. Her responsibilities include global vehicle and body manufacturing engineering, along with leading the Worldwide Facilities Group. In July 2004, Barra was appointed executive director, vehicle manufacturing engineering. She had global responsibility for general assembly; controls, conveyors, robotics and welding; paint and polymers; global manufacturing system and industrial engineering; and advanced vehicle development centers. She was also responsible for pre-production operations in North America. Prior to her manufacturing engineering assignment, Barra was plant manager - North America vehicle manufacturing - Detroit Hamtramck Assembly. The assembly plant produced the Cadillac DeVille, Buick LaSabre, and Pontiac Bonneville. Barra was born December 24, 1961. She began her career with General Motors in 1980 as a General Motors Institute (Kettering University) co-op student at the Pontiac Motor Division. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. In 1988, Barra received a GM fellowship to the Stanford Graduate School of Business and in 1990 graduated with a master’s degree in business administration. Upon graduation, she held a number of engineering positions with various GM divisions. In 1996, Barra supported GM's chairman and vice chairman and served as business manager for corporate staffs. Following this assignment, Barra was appointed general director of internal communications for GM North America in 1999, responsible for setting direction and developing strategies for communications with all employees. In 2001, Barra was appointed executive director of competitive operations engineering, North America vehicle operations. She led the integration of four organizations into one team responsible for industrial engineering and the global manufacturing system. She was also responsible for directing the math-based strategy development and implementation for manufacturing engineering. Barra currently serves as the executive champion of the Women in Manufacturing Engineering affinity group. In addition, she serves on Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s governing board, and she serves as a member of the Corporate Executive Board’s Manufacturing Leadership Board.

Maureen Kempston Darkes was appointed GM group vice president and president, GM Latin America, Africa and Middle East (LAAM) and a member of the General Motors Automotive Strategy Board, effective January 1, 2002. Prior to this appointment, she was president and general manager of General Motors of Canada Limited (GMCL) and vice president of General Motors Corporation, from 1994 to 2001. After joining the General Motors of Canada Limited Legal Staff in 1975, she became assistant counsel in 1979. She served on the General Motors Corporation Legal Staff in Detroit in 1979-1980 and headed the GM of Canada Tax Staff from 1980 to 1984. From 1985 to 1987, she worked in the GM Treasurer's Office in New York and subsequently held the position of acting treasurer for GM of Canada until her appointment as general director, public affairs, for GMCL in April 1987. She was appointed GMCL vice president of corporate affairs in 1991 and elected to the GMCL Board of Directors. In addition to her corporate affairs responsibilities, she was appointed general counsel and secretary of GMCL in July 1992. Kempston Darkes serves on the boards of CN Rail and Brookfield Asset Management. During her tenure as president of GM of Canada, she was a board member of the Vehicle Manufacturers' Association; the Ontario Government Education, Quality and Accountability Board; and the Ontario Minister of Health's Women's Health Council. Kempston Darkes was appointed by the federal government to the Free Trade Agreement Automotive Select Panel in 1989 and, in 1994, to the Transportation Equipment Sectoral Advisory Group on International Trade. She also serves on the University of Toronto President's International Alumni Council. She has served as the former chair for major gifts for Women's College Hospital Fund Raising Campaigns; co-chaired the BC Cancer Foundation's Millennium Campaign, focused on genome science and research into finding cures for and treatment of cancer; and served on the board of Falconbridge Inc. Kempston Darkes was born and raised in the Toronto area. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in history and political science from Victoria College, University of Toronto. She also holds a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Toronto Law School and is called to the Bar of Ontario. She has received honorary doctor of law degrees from the University of Toronto, University of Victoria, McMaster University, Dalhousie University, Wilfrid Laurier University, and the Law Society of Upper Canada; an honorary doctorate of business administration from Laurentian University; and an honorary doctor of commerce degree from Saint Mary's University. In 1997, Kempston Darkes received The Order of Ontario and was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2000. The American Bar Association in 1998 recognized her with the Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award. Roderick D. Gillum has been vice president, Corporate Responsibility and Diversity, for General Motors Corporation since August 1997. He is also chairman of the General Motors Foundation. He is responsible for global corporate social responsibility initiatives, which include community relations, philanthropy, business ethics, and diversity management within the corporation. In addition, Gillum is chairman of Motor Enterprises Incorporated, a subsidiary of General Motors, specializing in providing capital for GM minority suppliers. Gillum joined General Motors in 1979 and has held several executive positions. He also served in two separate capacities at Saturn Corporation, a GM subsidiary. From 1985 to 1986, he served as manager, strategic planning, and from 1988 to 1993 as vice president, general counsel, and secretary. From 1986 to 1988, Gillum was secretary to the General Motors Board of Directors where he was responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Board and committee agendas and minutes and notices to the stock exchanges. Immediately prior to his election as a vice president, his assignment was chief personnel and labor attorney. In that capacity, he was responsible for all legal matters related to personnel, labor relations, benefit plans, and worker's compensation. This included the coordination of the successful defense to the largest employee benefit case in U.S. history (Sprague vs. GM). Born in Detroit, Michigan, Gillum earned a bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University in 1972 and a juris doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston in 1975. Steve Harris has spent more than 40 years in communications, the vast majority of it with U.S. auto manufacturers. In his current capacity as head of global communications at General Motors, he leads of team of nearly 600 professionals who provide a wide variety of communications services to GM's 280,000 employees and support GM's operations and brands in 12,000 communities and 200 countries around the globe. Harris first joined GM in 1967 as a lecturer with GM's Previews of Progress educational program after graduating from the University of Southern California with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. In late 1979, he joined American Motors as head of product public relations, moving on to Chrysler as the director of corporate public relations in late 1987. He was named vice president – communications for Chrysler in January 1998. Following the merger of Chrysler and Daimler-Benz in late 1998, he was named senior vice president – communications. In early 1999, Harris returned to General Motors after a 20-year absence as vice president – global communications, a post he held until the end of 2003, when he retired and opened a communications consulting practice, working with two agencies and a number of top U.S. companies. He was asked to return to GM in his current role in February 2006. Harris has served on the boards of the Arthur W. Page Society, Institute for Public Relations, Foundation for American Communications, and the University of Southern California Annenberg Center for Strategic Public Relations. In February 2008, Harris was one of the first recipients of the SABRE Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Public Relations. In 2007, he was inducted into the Arthur W. Page Society's Hall of Fame and named an Automotive News' All Star for automotive public relations for the eighth time. The Detroit Chapter of the Public Relations Society for America named him to their Hall of Fame in 2002, and he has also received awards from Inside PR for crisis management as well as the Outstanding Journalism Alumni award from the University of Southern California. Brent Dewar has been vice president, sales, marketing and aftersales, for GM Europe since June 1, 2008. Subsequently, he served for two years as general manager of Chevrolet, launching an unprecedented ten products in 20 months' time, as well as the largest advertising campaign in the division's history, Chevrolet: An American Revolution. In 2005, Dewar was appointed GM North America (GMNA) vice president of marketing and advertising, responsible for the marketing of General Motors' corporate messages, as well as the advertising for its eight different vehicle brands in the U.S. and global marketing responsibility for the Chevrolet brand. From March 1, 2006, Dewar served as GMNA vice president of field sales, service and parts and was also responsible for fleet and commercial, order fulfillment, and marketing sales support groups.

Jill A. Lajdziak was appointed Saturn Corporation’s vice president of sales, service and marketing on March 1, 1999, and took on the title of Saturn division general manager in 2004. Peter D. Lord was appointed executive director of Service Operations January 1999. Lord began his career with Vauxhall Motors, the General Motors subsidiary in England, in 1970 as a student apprentice. In 1975, he was appointed product service engineer based at the Vauxhall Headquarters in Luton. In 1977 Lord was named district service manager and served in two districts, one in the southwest of England and the other in South Wales. He returned to Luton in 1983 when he was appointed service merchandising manager and shortly afterwards was named United Kingdom field service manager. In 1986 he moved back to the west of England as zone operations manager for the West Zone based in Bristol. Lord was appointed service director for Vauxhall in 1988 and during this two year assignment established the first Customer Assistance and Technical Assistance Centers in Europe. Elected to the Board of Vauxhall in 1990 as director of Vauxhall Parts, Lord led the merger of Service and Parts to form Vauxhall Aftersales which has served as the organizational template for GMIO around the world. Lord transferred to GMC Truck Division in Pontiac, Michigan in 1994 as general service manager. After Pontiac and GMC Divisions merged in 1996, he assumed responsibility for service for the combined division. In June 1997 he was appointed director of the Service Improvement Task Force. A native of Salisbury, England, Lord graduated from Birmingham University in 1974, with a first class honors degree in mechanical engineering.

Terry Dolan is the manager for Chevrolet's racing efforts in NASCAR, the American Le Mans Series, and the National Hot Rod Asscoiation. Dolan, a 10 year motorsports marketing veteran, is responsible for creating the marketing presence for Chevorlet's racing affiliations. In his current position since November of 2005, Dolan’s responsibilities include building brand equity for Chevrolet in motorsports, developing advertising and marketing strategies, and maintaining an effective team and driver portfolio. He also manages the division’s motorsports marketing and budget plans which includes national, regional, and dealer activation designed to increase purchase consideration and public opinion of Chevrolet products. Prior to this position Dolan served as the marketing manager for the Monte Carlo and Chevy Racing. In that role, he led, developed, and executed the marketing launch of the 2000 Monte Carlo, coordinated development of all vehicle communication strategies, and leveraged the divisional motorsport investment through national and regional activation programs. During this time he was also recognized by Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal for the “Promotion of the Year” for his work in a joint promotion with Warner Bros. Consumer Products for the 2002 “Chevy Monte Carlo 400 with the Looney Tunes.” Dolan has over 25 years of experience in various facets of the automotive industry. He has held numerous positions in sales, marketing, distribution, sales promotion, product planning, and customer service since joining Chevrolet in 1981. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in automotive technology and business management from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. The University System also has administrative responsibility for the Georgia Public Library Service, which manages the state’s 58 public library systems. Davis took office in early 2006. Previously, he had served as chairman of the board of Alliant Energy Corporation since 2000. Davis joined Alliant in 1998 as president and chief executive officer. He retired from his dual roles as president and CEO in July 2005, and retained the chairman's post until his move to the University System. Prior to the creation of Alliant Energy, Davis served as president and CEO of WPL Holdings, from 1990 to 1998. From 1978 to 1990, he rose through the senior management ranks at Wisconsin Power and Light Company, starting as vice president of finance and ending as CEO and president. Davis’ higher-education experience includes serving as a member of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents from 1987 to 1994, and as a former chairman of the board of trustees of Carnegie Mellon University, of which he is a life member. He presently serves as a member of the Southern Regional Education Board and the Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Davis earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1965, and a M.B.A. in finance from the University of Chicago in 1967. He is a member of the board of directors of General Motors, BP p.l.c., and Union Pacific Corp., and serves on the National Commission on Energy Policy along with numerous professional associations and civic organizations. He is a former member of the U.S. Olympic Committee Board (2004-2008).

For her commitment to community and improving public health, she has received eleven distinct “Woman of the Year” or similar awards from civic groups, national associations and universities. Kathy Marinello is chairman and chief executive officer of Ceridian Corporation. She joined Ceridian on Oct. 9, 2006. Walter G. Borst became General Motors treasurer in February 2003. Borst leads the GM Treasurer's Office, based in New York, with additional operations in Detroit, Zurich, and Shanghai. The global treasury operations include capital planning, business development, risk management, worldwide pension funding, worldwide banking, and overseas and domestic finance. Borst earned a bachelor's degree in finance from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) in Flint, Michigan, in 1985 and a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University in 1987.
