Robert Ashton has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since August 2006. Mr. Ashton has been a private investor in private and public technology companies since 1995 and is currently our largest stockholder. Prior to 1995, Mr. Ashton founded two database utility companies, Bridge Technology, which was sold to Peregrine Systems, and DB View, which was sold to VM Software. Mr. Ashton is also currently a director of segNET Technologies, Inc., a private company that provides advanced digital communications solutions.

Stephen D. Allison has served as vice president, finance, chief financial officer and treasurer since March 2004. From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Allison served as chief financial officer for Webhire, an Internet-based provider of solutions for human resources professionals. From 1997 to 2000, he served as chief financial officer of PRI Automation, a supplier of automation systems for the semiconductor industry. Previously, Mr. Allison held senior financial and operations management positions at Helix Technology, a developer of vacuum technology solutions, from 1995 to 1997, Behring Diagnostics, a clinical diagnostic company, from 1991 to 1995, and at Teradyne, Inc., a supplier of automatic test equipment, from 1974 to 1989.

Philippe Printz came to Gensym in December 1996 from Bruker Companies, an international supplier of products for Life Science, Biotechnical, and Process Analytical applications. While at Bruker, Mr. Printz held management positions, business development positions and engineering positions. Mr. Printz was a prime visionary and contributor in developing the software for the high-end Elexsys spectrometers. Prior to working for Bruker, Mr. Printz worked in Germany helping French companies in the industrial electrical and process automation market segments expand their business throughout Germany.

Robert L. Welch, Ph.D., President and CTO, is a diverse professional with a broad base of experience across several industries and on high-level government contract and private sector projects. As a principle scientist for Gensym Corporation, Dr. Welch developed Bayes On Line (BOL) a probability and statistics software layered on G2, for expert systems, decision analysis, machine learning and data mining applications. Initially, BOL was developed for fault diagnosis and forecasting nuclear power plant accidents for the Emergency Response Support System for NUPEC, the nuclear power regulatory body of Japan. BOL has also been used in nuclear waste remediation, defects analysis in specialty steel production, remote sensor fusion for monitoring activities in a rain forest; for intruder detection on computer networks, modeling and forecasting uplift loads at embarkation points based on procurement transactions, for customers such as Lockheed-Martin, USINOR, CSC/DISA, TRW/USTRANSCOM.
