Alan R. Andreasen aandreas@aed.org is Professor of Marketing at the McDonough School of Business of Georgetown University. He is a specialist in consumer behavior and the application of marketing to nonprofit organizations, social marketing, and the market problems of disadvantaged consumers. He is the author or editor of twelve books and numerous monographs. His most recent books are Strategic Marketing in Nonprofit Organizations (5th ed.) coauthored with Philip Kotler of Northwestern University (Prentice-Hall 1996), Cheap But Good Marketing Research (Business One Irwin 1988) and Marketing Social Change (Jossey Bass, 1995). He has also published over 100 articles and conference papers on a variety of topics and serves on the Board of Reviewers of the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Consumer Policy, Social Marketing Quarterly, and the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing. He is Past President of the Association for Consumer Research.

Alexander has been helping clients achieve transformational change for two decades by appropriately balancing expertise in business and exploration of the human dimension. He created and directed the Change Leadership practice for Gunn Partners prior to co-founding Accompli in early 2004. Currently, Alex is guiding corporate leaders and their teams in Europe and in Asia in critical organization change initiatives - such as organization restructurings, post-merger integration, continuous improvement (Kaizen) programs, culture change and stress management. In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor on the faculty of Georgetown University's Leadership Coaching Certificate Program as well as a frequent international speaker on the subjects of change, teams, coaching and leadership. He is a member of the board of the International Coaching Federation, France, and the Association for Coaching, UK. Alex earned a Master's degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. A dual citizen of the U.S. and France, he is fluent in French, Spanish and English. Ann Van Dusen, Ph.D. is an expert in the areas of economic and social development, humanitarian assistance and poverty alleviation, both internationally and in the United States. She has extensive public and private sector experience leading organizations and organizational units, including at the U.S. Agency for International Development, Save the Children, and Enterprise Works (formerly Appropriate Technology International). Dr. Van Dusen is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University and has published on social indicators, health and poverty, women and family in the Arab world and, most recently, on foreign aid reform. She has a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins in Sociology and Social Anthroplogy, an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a B.A. with honors from Wellesley College. She is a currently Senior Associate at Arabella Advisors, has consulted with corporate and non-profit clients on strategic planning and monitoring and evaluation, and is working with a number of charitable organizations including the Washington Area Womena s Foundation and the Catalogue for Philanthropy. She has served on the Boards of Planned Parenthood/Metropolitan Washington and EnterpriseWorks/Vita, which focuses on small enterprise development and job creation for farmers and entrepreneurs in Africa and Asia. In addition to CEDPA, she currently serves on the Board of Libertya s Promise, a not-for-profit working with immigrant youth in the Washington DC area.

Avis T. Bohlen (chair) has been on the IREX Board since 2002. Currently adjunct professor at Georgetown University, she retired from the US Department of State in 2002 after some 30 years of government service. A career Foreign Service officer, Ambassador Bohlen's posts included, among others, assistant secretary of state for arms control, US ambassador to Bulgaria, deputy chief of mission at the US embassy in Paris, and numerous positions dealing with European issues and strategic affairs and arms control. Since her retirement, Ambassador Bohlen has been a Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center and a member of the International Commission for the Balkans. She serves on a number of boards, including those of the Stimson Center, the Defense Advisory Committee of the Center for Naval Analysis, the Atlantic Council, and the American College of Sofia. Ambassador Bohlen earned her master's degree from Columbia University and received her bachelor's degree from Radcliffe College.

A Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Herr is an experienced principal investigator with special interest in novel therapies and devices. He is proficient in regulatory compliance, protocol design, and pharmacology. His research findings have been published in prominent medical journals such as JAMA, Journal of Neurosurgery, and Critical Care Medicine. He has also authored two book chapters on the subject of nutrition in critical care and endocrine management of the cardiac surgical patient. As a recognized expert in the field of critical care, Dr. Herr is frequently invited to speak at medical conferences on topics concerning novel/new treatments and therapies for crucially ill patients. He has served on several Data Safety Monitoring Boards, and often provides consultative services to pharmaceutical companies. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of several medical organizations. Presently, he serves as the Section Chair, Internal Medicine for the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Herr received a Masters of Science in Pharmacology from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, and a Medical Degree from St. George's University School of Medicine, Grenada, W.I. He completed a residency at York Hospital in York, PA, and completed post-graduate training in critical care (medical, surgical and trauma) at Maryland Institute for mergency Medical Services (MIEMSS), University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Cornell University, New York, NY. Prior to assuming his current positions, Dr. Herr served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at George Washington University in Washington DC, and was Medical Director of MedSTAR, the renowned trauma transport and emergency program at WHC.

David K. Ficca joined The Baltimore Life Companies in 2002 as the company's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Ficca oversees all financial operations at Baltimore Life, including investments, actuarial issues, taxes, financial reporting & analysis, strategic planning, and enterprise risk management. Mr. Ficca brought more than 17 years of public accounting experience to his position with Baltimore Life, with 13 of those years dedicated to the insurance industry. Mr. Ficca also serves as an adjunct professor of auditing at Georgetown University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with his wife and four sons.
Ed Finn is a Professor Emeritus of Georgetown University where he taught in the Physics Department from 1952 until 1998, with a few sabbatical years at such interesting places as the National Science Foundation [International Division] and M.I.T.'s Lincoln Laboratory. He is coauthor, with Marcelo Alonso, of "Fundamental University Physics" [1968-1987] and "Physics" [1992]. Ed also worked part-time and summers at the Naval Research Laboratory until the '80s and spent some time at the National Institutes of Health performing research on their PET Scanner and NMR machine.

George W. Carey is Professor of Government at Georgetown University. Dr. Carey has served on ISI's board of trustees since 1977 and is the founding editor of ISI's Political Science Reviewer, one of the premier journals in the field of political theory. He is also an associate editor of Modern Age, serves on the editorial board of the Intercollegiate Review, and helps judge ISI's Weaver and Salvatori Fellowship awards. ISI will publish his Student's Guide to American Political Thought next year. Thus, Dr. Carey has been intimately involved with ISI for decades in just about every imaginable capacity. His constant devotion to the American Founders' constitutional vision has helped keep ISI true to its mission over the years.
One of the Fortune 1000's first chief privacy officers, Harriet has since the year 2000 been responsible for IBM's global information policies and practices affecting more than 320,000 employees and tens of thousands of clients and individuals. She is known for pushing the envelope and setting progressive corporate policies and practices that build trust in areas as diverse as health care and genetics to RFID and international data flows. As regulatory policy leader for IBM, a new role, Harriet leads the development and execution of a proactive regulatory and policy strategy across IBM’s legal function. Harriet reports to IBM’s SVP Legal and Regulatory Affairs & General Counsel. Harriet has been a member of IBM’s senior leadership team of approximately 300 executives, appointed by the Chairman and CEO, since late 2000.
Harriet holds an appointment as Adjunct Lecturer in Georgetown University’s Communication, Culture & Technology Master’s program, where she teaches a seminar on Trust, Privacy & Security. She is a Board member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Center for Information Policy Leadership, and the Anatolia College (a private American K-thru-college school in Greece).
From 2002 until 1Q 2007, she also held executive positions in IBM’s Communications and Human Resources groups, leading initiatives such as the redesign of the company’s global performance management system; the launch of the company’s alumni relations strategy and portal; and the development and execution of global communications campaigns on IBM’s engagement in societal issues such as healthcare and energy. From 1993 until her appointment as Chief Privacy Officer in 2000, Harriet held increasingly responsible roles in the company’s Governmental Programs group, culminating in her first executive role as Director of Public Affairs in 1997. In that group she was responsible for global public policy issue management in a broad range of areas including privacy, health care, labor law, telecommunications, environment and energy.
Before joining IBM in 1993, Harriet practiced environmental law with the firm now known as Bracewell & Guiliani in Washington, D.C. and worked in the Gulf of Mexico as an engineer with Shell Oil in New Orleans. She holds a J.D. (Order of the Coif) from the UCLA School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law & Policy. She graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E. cum laude; at Princeton she was the CEO of Travel 101, the campus travel agency and at the time one of the school’s largest student-run businesses. She was admitted to the bars in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Harriet works out of IBM’s Washington, D.C. office and Armonk, NY headquarters. She lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and two school-age children. She speaks frequently to business, government and other audiences and sings with the DC-based, 100-woman Potomac Harmony Chorus. A first-generation American, Harriet speaks Greek fluently.

Jan Boxer is the Career Development Practice Leader for Strategic Partners, Inc. She advises executives on employment issues related to development, retention and separation. She coaches managers in dealing with the development of high potential employees, those overcoming performance problems, and those impacted by restructuring, demotion or job loss. Sue MacReynolds is a business and executive coach who improves the performance of executives, managers and organizations though insight, learning and action. She helps her clients adapt to changing business environments, focus on top priorities, develop leadership skills and manage their career transitions. Her clients experience improved individual and organizational performance in line with their strategy and goals. Sue brings over 20 years of experience in high-technology consulting to her coaching. She has held line management positions (from first line supervisor to senior management) and key staff positions for organizations that deliver systems engineering and analysis, technical program management, and technology consulting services. She understands, first-hand, the challenges faced by leaders within corporations. Sue received her coaching certification from The Coaches Training Institute (CTI) in 2001, and was granted the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation from the International Coach Federation in 2003. She is certified to conduct the Core Values Discovery process developed by MindTech, Inc. and is trained in the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI ), which measures thinking styles and preferences. She is on the faculty of Columbia University's Senior Executive Program (CSEP) as a Values and Leadership coach, and on the faculty of Georgetown University's Leadership Coaching Certificate Program.
Thomas J. O'Rourke represents a variety of clients including individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations on matters involving tax, estate planning and administration and pension issues. He works with clients to assist in meeting their business and financial objectives in the most tax efficient manner. Mr. O'Rourke also represents clients in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, state tax administrative agencies and in State and Federal Courts. His trial experience includes service both as an IRS attorney and in private law practice. He has litigated cases before the U.S. Tax Court, Federal District Courts, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Maryland Tax Court. He has argued appeals before the Courts of Appeals for the Federal, Fourth, Fifth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits. Mr. O'Rourke has served on the adjunct faculty of Georgetown University, George Mason University, Montgomery College and the Northern Virginia Community College, where he has taught courses on estates, trusts and taxation at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He regularly presents lectures to members of the federal judiciary and to senior federal government executives on tax, estate and pension issues.

Winston J. Churchill has been a director of Amkor since July 1998. Mr. Churchill is the managing general partner of SCP Partners, a multi-stage venture capital firm with over $800 million under management that invests in technology-oriented companies. Mr. Churchill is also Chairman of CIP Capital Management, Inc., an SBA-licensed private equity fund.
Previously, Mr. Churchill was a managing partner of Bradford Associates, which managed private equity funds on behalf of Bessemer Securities Corporation and Bessemer Trust Company. From 1967 to 1983, Mr. Churchill practiced law at the Philadelphia firm of Saul Ewing, LLP, where he served as Chairman of the Banking and Financial Institutions Department, Chairman of the Finance Committee and was a member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Churchill is a director of Griffin Land and Nurseries, Inc., Innovative Solutions and Support, Inc. and of various SCP portfolio companies.
In addition, he serves as a director on the boards of a number of charities and as a trustee of educational institutions including Fordham University, Georgetown University, Immaculata University, the Gesu School and the Young Scholars Charter School. From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Churchill served as Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System.

Edmond D. Villani served as vice chairman of Deutsche Asset Management, North America until December 31, 2005. Between 1997 and 2002, he was the chief executive officer of Scudder, Stevens & Clark, Inc. and its successor entities. Patrick moved from the Washington, D.C. area in 1995 to assume the role of General Manager for the Main Place Liberty Group. He is a native of Hong Kong with experience in tax and real estate from Rosenthal, Shuler Realty Partners in the D.C. area. James D. Griffin, MD, received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1974. After residency training in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he completed a hematology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and a medical oncology fellowship at Dana-Farber. In 1981, he joined the staff of Dana-Farber, where he currently is director of the Leukemia Program and chair of the Department of Medical Oncology. From 1993 to 1998, he was editor-in-chief of Blood. He is a professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and currently sits on the scientific advisory boards of the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University and the Johns Hopkins Cancer Center and Case Western Cancer Center.

Dr. Stephen Byers is an internationally recognized cell biologist who has authored more than 80 papers and seven patents in the areas of cell adhesion and signaling. He is a Professor of oncology and cell biology at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University. His research focuses on the area of cadherin/catenin adhesion and signaling system in breast and colon cancer and its interaction with nuclear receptors and tumor suppressor genes. Dr. Byers is Director of the Georgetown University Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD Program) and Member of the Interdisciplinary Program of Tumor Biology.
