Thomas B. Okarma, Ph.D., M.D., has served as our President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of our board of directors since July 1999. He is also a director of Geron Bio-Med Limited, a United Kingdom company and Geron's wholly-owned subsidiary, and TA Therapeutics, Ltd., a Hong Kong company and Geron's majority-owned subsidiary. From May 1998 until July 1999, Dr. Okarma was the Vice President of Research and Development. From December 1997 until May 1998, Dr. Okarma was Vice President of Cell Therapies. Dr. Okarma currently serves on the Board of BIO and was Chairman of the Board of Overseers of Dartmouth Medical School from 2000 to 2007. In 1985, Dr. Okarma founded Applied Immune Sciences, Inc. and served initially as Vice President of Research and Development and then as chairman, chief executive officer and a director of Applied Immune Sciences, until 1995 when it was acquired by Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. Dr. Okarma was a Senior Vice President at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer from the time of the acquisition of Applied Immune Sciences until December 1996. From 1980 to 1992, Dr. Okarma was a member of the faculty of the Department of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Okarma holds a A.B. from Dartmouth College, a M.D. and Ph.D. from Stanford University and an executive M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

David J. Earp, J.D. Ph.D., has served as our Senior Vice President of Business Development and Chief Patent Counsel since May 2004. He is also a director of our majority-owned subsidiary, TA Therapeutics, Ltd. and ViaGen, Inc., an Arizona corporation. From October 1999 until May 2004, Dr. Earp served as our Vice President of Intellectual Property. From 1992 until joining us in June 1999, Dr. Earp was with the intellectual property law firm of Klarquist Sparkman Campbell Leigh and Whinston, LLP. Dr. Earp holds a B.Sc. in microbiology from the University of Leeds, England, a Ph.D. from the biochemistry department of The University of Cambridge, England, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California at Berkeley/U.S.D.A. Plant Gene Expression Center. He received his J.D. from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

David L. Greenwood has served as our Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary since August 1995 and our Executive Vice President since January 2004. He is also a director of our wholly-owned subsidiary, Geron Bio-Med Limited, our majority-owned subsidiary, TA Therapeutics, Ltd., ViaGen, Inc., an Arizona corporation, and Clone International, an Australian company. From August 1999 until January 2004, Mr. Greenwood also served as our Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. From April 1997 until August 1999, Mr. Greenwood served as our Vice President of Corporate Development. He also serves on the Board of Regents for Pacific Lutheran University. From 1979 until joining us, Mr. Greenwood held various positions with J.P. Morgan & Co. Incorporated, an international banking firm. Mr. Greenwood holds a B.A. from Pacific Lutheran University and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Fabio M. Benedetti, M.D., has served as our Senior Vice President, Oncology since January 2008. From April 2007 to January 2008, he served as Senior Vice President, Clinical Development Oncology. From 2005 to 2006, Dr. Benedetti was the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Onyx Pharmaceuticals Inc. From 2002 to 2005, he was Vice President of Global Medical Affairs for Millennium Pharmaceuticals. From 1999 to 2002, Dr. Benedetti held various management positions with the Oncology Global Marketing group at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He has been an attending clinical assistant with the division of gastrointestinal oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and an Instructor at Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Benedetti holds a B.A. in biology from Brown University and an M.D. from Brown University Medical School.

Jane S. Lebkowski, Ph.D., has served as our Senior Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer, Regenerative Medicine since 2009 and Senior Vice President of Regenerative Medicine since January 2004. From August 1999 until January 2004, Dr. Lebkowski served as our Vice President of Regenerative Medicine. From April 1998 until August 1999, Dr. Lebkowski served as our Senior Director, Cell and Gene Therapies. From 1986 until joining us in 1998, Dr. Lebkowski served as Vice President, Research and Development at Applied Immune Sciences. In 1995, Applied Immune Sciences was acquired by Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, at which time Dr. Lebkowski was appointed Vice President, Discovery & Product Development. Dr. Lebkowski received a B.S. in chemistry and biology from Syracuse University and received her Ph.D. from Princeton University.

Melissa A. Kelly Behrs has served as our Senior Vice President, Therapeutic Development, Oncology since January 2007. Ms. Behrs served as our Vice President of Oncology from January 2003 until January 2007. From April 2002 until January 2003, Ms. Behrs served as our Vice President of Corporate Development. From April 2001 until April 2002, Ms. Behrs served as our General Manager of Research and Development Technologies. Ms. Behrs joined us in November 1998 as Director of Corporate Development. From 1990 to 1998, Ms. Behrs worked at Genetics Institute, Inc., serving initially as Assistant Treasurer and then as Associate Director of Preclinical Operations where she was responsible for all business development, regulatory, and project management activities for the Preclinical Development function. Ms. Behrs received a B.S. from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Babson College.

Katharine E. Spink, Ph.D., has served as our Vice President of Operations, Regenerative Medicine Programs since February 2009. From January 2008 until February 2009, Dr. Spink served as our Senior Director of Regenerative Medicine Program Operations. From January 2007 until January 2008, Dr. Spink served as our Program Director for Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Spink joined Geron in December 2003, and served various roles within our Corporate Development group until January 2007. Prior to Geron, Dr. Spink was with the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where she advised clients in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries on matters relating to R&D strategy, business development, and marketing. Dr. Spink holds a B.A. in biochemistry from Rice University, and a Ph.D. in cancer biology from Stanford University.

Ramkumar Mandalam, Ph.D. is the Executive Director of Product Development at Geron Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company in Menlo Park, CA, developing products for applications in oncology and regenerative medicine, and research tools for drug discovery. His responsibility includes strategic planning and implementation of development and manufacturing of cellular products for ?regenerative medicine?, oncology and drug discovery applications. Current focus includes development of human embryonic stem cell derived products for treatment of spinal cord injury, myocardial infarction, and diabetes; and development of autologous dendritic cell vaccine for oncology applications. Dr. Mandalam?s expertise and interest is in the areas of R & D, manufacturing and commercialization of human cellular products and biopharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Geron in 2000, he was Director of Developmental Research at Aastrom Biosciences managing research and development programs involving ex vivo expansion of human primary cells (including bone marrow and cord blood cells) for cell therapy applications. Dr. Mandalam received his B.Tech (Chem Eng.) from India, M.S. (Chem Eng.) from Michigan Technological University, USA, and Ph.D (Chem Eng.) from the University of Michigan, USA.

Patrick F. Latterell has served on our Board since July 2002. Mr. Latterell is the founder of Latterell Venture Partners, a venture capital firm, and has served as the Managing Member of its general partner entities since 2001. Prior to forming Latterell Venture Partners, Mr. Latterell was a General Partner at Venrock Associates, which he joined in 1989. Mr. Latterell served as Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association Medical Industry Group in 2003 and 2004, and also serves on the boards of several privately-held medical device companies. Mr. Latterell holds an S.B. in Biological Sciences and an S.B. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Lynda L. Wijcik, Chairman, is Managing Partner of BioBridge LLC. From January 1995 to September 2006 Ms. Wijcik consulted, invested and assisted companies in financings as a managing partner of her consulting firm Biobridge Associates. In October 2006 Biobridge LLC was formed by Ms. Wijcik and her husband to do Investments. Ms. Wijcik has a background in cancer and genetic disease research at the University of British Columbia, the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Over the past few years, she has assisted in growing two biotech companies, Metra Biosystems (acquired by Quidel) and Connetics (acquired by Steifel Laboratories). At both these companies, she was part of the founding team, helping them to obtain venture capital funding, and was Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Business Development, respectively. She has assisted several biotech companies in raising over $100 million in seed, first, and second round venture capital financing. These companies include NexRay, Geron, Connetics, Metra Biosystems, Nanogen, Onyx Pharmaceuticals, and Origen Therapeutics. She is a Director of Origen Therapeutics, NovaRay, Medispectra, and United Systems Access, a telecommunications company. She received her B.S.C. degree from Simon Fraser University (Canada).

Alex is a Managing Director of Prospect Venture Partners. Prior to co-founding Prospect Venture Partners I, II and III, Alex was a Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) from 1991 to 1997 where he focused on health care product company investments in the drug, device, and diagnostic sectors. Additionally, during his tenure at KPCB, Alex served as the founding CEO of two pioneering biotechnology companies, Geron (NASDAQ:GERN) and Connective Therapeutics, which became a Connetics, a NASDAQ listed specialty pharmaceutical company. For both of these companies, Alex worked with the scientific founders to develop the companies' initial business plans, in-license key enabling technology and products, recruit world class scientific talent and advisory board members, secure significant milestone-driven venture financing, and recruit experienced senior executive management teams. Prior to KPCB, Alex was a founder and CEO of BioBridge Associates, a health care industry consulting firm from 1989 to 1991. From 1987 to 1989, he served as the Director of Technology Development at Advanced Biosearch Associates, a regulatory affairs advisory firm where he focused on medical product commercialization and medical device regulatory strategy. Alex's research experience was gained at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Genetics Department at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children, the Whitehead Institute at MIT, and Duke University. Alex is currently Chairman of the Board of Geron (NASDAQ: GERN) and Tercica (NASDAQ: TRCA), and serves or has served on the Board of Directors of Amicus (NASDAQ: FOLD), Archemix, Connetics (now Stiefel Laboratories, Inc.), and of Complete Genomics, Inc., NeoMend, Novacept (now NASDAQ: CYTC), SurgRx, Transave, Verus Pharmaceuticals, Zelos Therapeutics and several other privately held companies. Alex received a Ph.D. in Biology from New York University and a B.A. in Biology from Brandeis University, where he currently is Chairman of the University Science Advisory Council and serves on the Board of Trustees.

Lance Willsey, MD has served as a director since May 2000. Dr. Willsey was a founding partner of DCF Capital from July 1998 to April 2002. From July 1997 to July 1998, Dr. Willsey served on the Staff Department of Urologic Oncology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard University School of Medicine. From July 1996 to July 1997, Dr. Willsey served on the Staff Department of Urology at Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard University School of Medicine, where he was a urology resident from July 1992 to July 1996. Dr. Willsey is also a director of Exelixis, Inc. Dr. Willsey holds a BS in physiology from Michigan State University and an MS in biology and an MD from Wayne State University. Patrick J. Zenner has served as a director since March 2003. In January 2001, Mr. Zenner retired from Hoffmann-La Roche Inc., North America, the prescription drug unit of the Roche Group, a leading research-based health care enterprise, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 1993, and was a member of the global Pharmaceutical Executive Committee. Mr. Zenner joined Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. as a sales representative in 1969 and subsequently held a series of marketing and business development posts that culminated in his being named Vice President and General Manager of Roche Laboratories in 1982. He later spent two and a half years with Roche Holding Ltd. as head of international pharmaceutical marketing, development and regulation. In 1988, Mr. Zenner was elected to Hoffmann-La Roche's Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and appointed Senior Vice President of the pharmaceutical division. Mr. Zenner also serves as a director of ArQule, Inc., Curagen Corporation, Dendrite International, Inc., First Horizon Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Genta Inc., Geron Corporation, Praecis Pharmaceuticals, Inc, West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. and Xoma Ltd. Mr. Zenner holds a BS in business administration from Creighton University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a Trustee of both universities.

Age 61 Director since 2002 Mr. Zenner is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of Hoffmann-La Roche Inc., a pharmaceutical manufacturer. Mr. Zenner currently serves as the Interim Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of EXACT Sciences Corporation. He also is a director of ArQule, Inc., CuraGen Corporation, Geron Corporation, Sciele Pharma, Inc. and Xoma Ltd.
