Giant is a giant in the petroleum business. Founded in 1961 and headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, Giant Industries, Inc. (NYSE: GI) refines and sells petroleum. The company has Giant Industries, Giant Retail, and Phoenix Fuels subsidiaries. It operates Ciniza, Bloomfield, and Yorktown refineries; a gathering pipeline system; distribution terminals; and a fleet of trucks. It is the parent Company of Phoenix Fuel Co., Inc., an Arizona wholesale petroleum products distributor. The company has annual revenue of about $3.6 billion and employs about 2,400 people. In 2005, it acquired acquired Dial Oil Company based in Farmington, NM.
