John Fogerty has big plans for 2009. In an exclusive interview with Billboard, the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman said he's putting the finishing touches on a new album titled The Return of the Blue Ridge Rangers. In addition, Fogerty plans to release a concert DVD that features a Royal Albert Hall performance staged earlier this year, fleshed out with a documentary about his life and career. The forthcoming CD is a sequel, of sorts, to Fogerty's 1973 solo album Blue Ridge Rangers, which consisted of roots and country covers. Recorded in ten days -- with T-Bone Burnett and Lenny Waronker producing -- the new disc features backing from alt-country veterans Buddy Miller, Greg Leisz, Dennis Crouch, Jay Bellerose and Kenny Aronoff. Fogerty declined to name specific song titles, but did say the album includes at least one Merle Haggard track.

Katie joined Thompson and Berry in January 2004 as an intern and has risen to account executive based on her excellent work and client service. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Memphis, Katie earned a bachelor of arts in journalism with an emphasis in public relations. During her senior year of school, she worked on an award-winning research study for Wings Cancer Foundation in Memphis and served as the group leader for the resulting campaign. She has written several published articles and editorials about the Collierville Education Foundation, of which she is a board member. Also a member of Kappa Tau Alpha, Who's Who Among College Students the Golden Key Society, and the Public Relations Society of America, Katie was awarded both an Early Scholars scholarship and a journalism scholarship from the University of Memphis. As an account executive with Thompson & Berry, Katie works with clients such as The Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts, Garden & Gun Magazine, Southern Women's Show, First Tennessee's Working Money campaign, Belz Enterprises, Gibson Guitar and Asentinel. Katie serves on the Memphis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America VOX Committee as a Student Liaison.

I took my yearly pilgrimage to Ozzfest at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Mass., Monday, where I was treated to a tour of the sound engineers booth. Veteran engineer Greg Price walked me through everything from the Digidesign Venue console to the quad-core Mac Pro running Pro Tools and how it's all being used to achieve the sound and live recording at the show.
