Karen Schmitt is President of Maiden Re. Ms. Schmitt has 28 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. Ms. Schmitt joined GMAC RE, Maiden Re's predecessor, in 1999 from TIG Holdings where she was Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary since 1997. Prior to TIG, Ms. Schmitt held actuarial roles at American Re from 1986 to 1997 and Prudential Property and Casualty from 1980 to 1986. Ms. Schmitt earned her Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
