Gottlieb Memorial Hospital remains a full-service community hospital under the terms of the agreement. Loyola University Health System's Board of Directors has governance of all Gottlieb entities, including the 250-bed hospital, the Gottlieb Health & Fitness Center and the Marjorie G. Weinberg Cancer Care Center, all located on the Melrose Park campus. "This agreement represents the coming together of two respected not-for-profit institutions that complement each other, the sum of which greatly enhances health care in the area," said Paul K. Michael T. Lyster, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology. Born in Chicago, he earned both his bachelor of arts and medical degrees at the University of Illinois. Currently, he is an active staff member of several area hospitals, including MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, and Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. He has been a member of HOA Illinois since 1993. Dr. Lyster is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush Medical College in Chicago. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Illinois Medical Oncology Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncologists, and the Chicago Medical Society. Dr. Dennis R. Pietrini is an experienced and well-trained dentist, who has been working in the dental profession for more than thirty-two years. He attended the University of Illinois and Elmhurst College before he went on to study dentistry. In 1970, he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Dr. Pietrini then served two years active duty in the United States Navy Dental Corps. In 1972, he began private practice in River Grove, Illinois. Six years later, he moved his practice to its present location in Franklin Park, Illinois. As an active member of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital for the past thirty-two years, he has served as the Chairman of the Department of Oral Medicine on three separate occasions, as a member of the Credentials Committee for eighteen years and is currently the Chairman of the Laser Safety Committee. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society. In 1991, he was awarded a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is the Past President of the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He was awarded a Mastership certificate in 1993 and was certified as a Laser Educator in 1998. He is also the cofounder and Past President of the Midwest Dental Laser Study Club. Dr. Pietrini is a pioneer in the field of Laser dentistry, who co-authored Curriculum Guidelines and Standards for Dental Laser Education in 1993 and aided in the revision of the guidelines in 1998. He is an approved course provider for the Academy of Laser Dentistry's Standard Proficiency Course. He has been involved in training and certification of healthcare professionals throughout the United States and from more than thirty foreign countries. He has been a frequent speaker on "high-tech dentistry" at dental meetings both locally and nationally. Dr. Pietrini is listed in "Who's Who in Dentistry". Dr. Pietrini and his wife, Elaine have been married for thirty-four years and have two married daughters. Due to his dedication to family, his profession and the community, in 1998, Dr. Pietrini was honored as the Italian Cultural Center's Man of the Year, and in 2001, he was inducted into the Leyden High School Wall of Fame. As of 2003-04, he was elected as a chairmen of Casa-Italia.
