GUARD Insurance Group is the holding company for a number of subsidiaries ? AmGUARD, EastGUARD, NorGUARD, and WestGUARD ? that write commercial insurance policies for small- to mid-sized businesses throughout an operating area that encompasses 23 active (and 44 licensed) jurisdictions. While the organization has historically specialized in providing workers? compensation coverage, expansion into other lines of commercial property and casualty insurance has begun to occur. Through two other affiliates, GUARD delivers a consistently high level of expertise and service to customers. InterGUARD is a program manager that handles marketing, underwriting, policy issuance, compliance, premium collection, loss control, and claims on behalf of the group?s insurers. GUARDCo coordinates a variety of activities related to claims and medical management, using the techniques of managed care. Together, these six affiliates give GUARD Insurance Group maximum flexibility in responding to opportunities within the marketplace without sacrificing efficiency or the quality of the company?s product. Under the ongoing guidance of an executive management team led by founders, Susan and Judd Shoval, and Chief Executive Officer, Sy Foguel, GUARD has worked to instill a corporate culture of innovation, growth, excellence, and superior service across the entire organization, hoping to create a unique "GUARD experience" that adds value above and beyond standard industry practices. The company?s "soldier" is intended to symbolize the protection and financial security provided to all customers. In May of 2007, GUARD Insurance Group became a wholly owned subsidiary of Clal Insurance Enterprises Holdings, Ltd. - providing additional resources that will allow GUARD to pursue broader strategic plans for the future. Clal is Israel's largest insurance group and is publicly traded on the Tel-Aviv stock exchange. GUARD is Clal's first investment in the insurance industry in the United States.
