He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the 60,000-employee, $9 billion company from 1992 until 1994. Jim serves on the boards of Boston Scientific Corporation, and Curis, Inc., and is involved with the BioMedical Science Career Program. He also served as lieutenant in the U. S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. He holds an A.B. from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. "

Fred Hrkac is President of Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) at the Boston Scientific Corporation. Before joining Boston Scientific in 2009, Fred was Worldwide President of Sorin Group CRM, where he was responsible for all global business units and sales of more than $350 million. Previously at Sorin, he was Vice President of Global Marketing & Sales responsible for sales of $310 million in a matrix sales organization. Prior to Sorin, Fred spent 14 years with Johnson & Johnson (J&J), where he served in various marketing and senior management positions, including Vice President of International of Biosense Webster (a J&J company). Fred graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada where he earned an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

"John Pedersen is President of the Urology and Gynecology business at Boston Scientific Corporation. Prior to assuming this role, John was President of the Company’s Peripheral Interventions (PI) business. John lead the PI business through a challenging period of implementing continuous quality improvement programs in the face of increased competition in the market. During this period, he refocused the business strategy to key growth areas within PI with special emphasis on interventional cardiologists and vascular surgeons. Ultimately, John and his team helped combine the PI business unit into a larger cardiovascular group. Prior to his role as President of PI, John served as President of Boston Scientific’s Urology and Gynecology business. Heavy investments were made to sustain leadership in Urology and build a Gynecology business during his first tenure as President. Sales doubled for the business during this period to more than $300 million. Previously, John was President of the Company’s Neurovascular business. He joined the Company in 1996 as Director of New Business Development. Before joining Boston Scientific, John was a Senior Engagement Manager for McKinsey & Company. John earned a B.A. from Princeton University, completed coursework with Thomas Jefferson Medical College, and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the New England Chapter of the Young President’s Organization. "

"Joe Fitzgerald is President and General Manager of the Peripheral Interventions business at Boston Scientific Corporation with overall responsibility for our peripheral vascular and neurovascular business units. Prior to his current role, Joe was President of the Company’s Electrophysiology business. In this role, the business experienced double-digit sales and profitability growth and maintained its market-leading position in the catheter ablation market segment. Previously, Joe held a variety of management positions in Boston Scientific’s Neurovascular and Peripheral Interventions businesses. This included numerous regional and divisional sales management assignments up to and including his roles as Vice President, Global Marketing and U.S. Sales for the Neurovascular business. Joe joined Boston Scientific in 1990 as a sales representative. Prior to joining the Company, Joe was with Anheuser Busch, Inc., where he held a variety of sales, marketing, and training assignments. Joe earned a B.S. in Business from Indiana University and an M.B.A. from Southern Illinois with a concentration in marketing and finance. "

Mark Paul is President of Neurovascular at Boston Scientific Corporation. Mark joined Boston Scientific in 1991 as territory manager for its Medi-Tech division. Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Boston Scientific International, leading 10 international business franchises and marketing support functions. Previously, Mark held a variety of marketing positions in the Company's Peripheral Interventions, Neurovascular, Oncology and Vascular Surgery businesses. He was Boston Scientific's first Neurovascular product manager and subsequently held a series of marketing positions with increasing management responsibility, including Director of Marketing in Europe for the Company's Peripheral Interventions, Oncology and Vascular Surgery businesses. Prior to Boston Scientific, Mark held a variety of sales management positions with Procter & Gamble's paper and soap divisions. Mark earned a B.A. in English Literature Studies from the University of Utah where he spent time at the Universite de Neuchatel in Switzerland and Cambridge University in England.

Maulik Nanavaty is President of Boston Scientific Japan at the Boston Scientific Corporation. Maulik joined Boston Scientific in 2005 as Vice President for Corporate Strategy for Japan, where he led a successful business transformation and contributed to a high level of operational efficiency. Most recently, Maulik was Vice President and General Manager of Japan's Interventional Cardiology business. During his tenure, Maulik managed the successful launch of the Company's TAXUS Express2 drug-eluting stent system in Japan. Prior to joining Boston Scientific, Maulik served for 16 years in various executive positions at Baxter International, Inc., and Baxter Japan. Maulik holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Illinois and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Tony Gibbons is Regional President of Inter-Continental at Boston Scientific Corporation, which includes Japan, Asia, Latin America and Canada. Tony joined the Company in 1991 as an Endoscopy sales representative responsible for the Company's Florida territory and most recently was Vice President, International Sales and General Manager. In this role, he was responsible for overall sales execution of the business, which included training and developing more than 1,200 sales representatives and 400 sales managers in 67 countries. He was also responsible for the Company's Canadian operations overseeing more than 125 employees. Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Company's operations in Latin America and Canada, where he increased sales growth by 75 percent. Prior to this, Tony was Country Director of the Company's Canada operations. Prior to Boston Scientific, Tony was with Harris/Lanier Corporation, where he held a variety of sales and sales management roles. Tony earned a B.S. in both Economics and Marketing from Alfred University in 1987.

"Donald S. Baim, M.D., is Executive Vice President, Chief Medical and Scientific Officer at Boston Scientific Corporation as of July 3, 2006. Dr. Baim's primary responsibilities include management of Clinical Affairs (including pre-clinical and clinical studies); Medical Affairs (including educational programs and physician relationships), and Safety. He also plays a major role in developing technology strategies, including the assessment of technologies of acquisition and partnership candidates, and their integration with internal technologies to help develop the Company's future product portfolio. Before joining Boston Scientific, Dr. Baim was a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Senior Physician at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, and an internationally recognized leader in interventional cardiology who specialized in the development and evaluation of new interventional cardiovascular devices. He has published nearly 300 scientific papers on interventional cardiology, edited the leading textbook in the field (Grossman's Cardiac Catheterization, Angiography and Intervention, now in its 7th edition), and has served as a member of the Interventional Cardiology Test Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Dr. Baim has been the national Principal Investigator on literally dozens of clinical trials in interventional cardiology, and a founder or key consultant for more than 20 start-up companies and medical device incubators in areas ranging from embolic protection, thrombectomy, chronic total occlusions, arterial closure, novel stent and coatings, heart failure, and percutaneous heart valves. He was the recipient of the Career Achievement Award at TCT 2000, based on his clinical, research, and educational contributions to the field. Dr. Baim completed his undergraduate training in Physics at the University of Chicago, and then received a M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine. During post-graduate training in medicine and cardiology at Stanford, he worked with Dr. John Simpson during the development of some of the earliest moveable guidewire coronary angioplasty catheters. In 1981, Dr. Baim was recruited to establish an Interventional Cardiology program at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital. Under his leadership, this program went on to perform seminal research in the refinement, critical evaluation and optimal application of newer devices, including stents, atherectomy, clot removal and distal embolic protection. In 2000, he was recruited by the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where in addition to his clinical responsibilities, he directed the hospital's participation in the Center for the Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology (CIMIT), a federally funded inter-disciplinary consortium of leading Boston teaching hospitals and engineering institutions that develops innovative device solutions for a wide range of unmet medical challenges. Since 2005, Dr. Baim has also served as Chief Academic Officer of the Harvard Clinical Research Institute (HCRI), a not-for-profit organization that designs, conducts, and analyzes pilot and pivotal trials of new medical devices to support their approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). "

Jeff Capello is Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller at the Boston Scientific Corporation. Jeff is responsible for overseeing the Company's Global Controllership, Treasury, and Information Systems functions. Prior to joining Boston Scientific in 2008, Jeff was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Business Development at PerkinElmer, Inc. Previously, he held a variety of management positions at PerkinElmer, including Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller and Treasurer and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to his tenure at PerkinElmer, Jeff held a series of management positions with increasing responsibility at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Vermont and a M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. He is a certified public accountant.

Lucia Quinn is Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Boston Scientific Corporation. Lucia joined the Company in 2005 and is responsible for company-wide Human Resources efforts, including HR services to all Boston Scientific businesses and functions, as well as corporate recruiting, compensation, benefits, policies, and training. Previously, Lucia was Senior Vice President at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, a provider of diagnostic testing, information and services. She joined Quest in 2001 as a member of the senior management team and was responsible for a portfolio of businesses with approximately $1 billion in revenue, and for directing investments, acquisitions, product development and key customer contracts. Prior to joining Quest, Lucia was Vice President, Corporate Strategic Marketing for Honeywell International, where she oversaw Honeywell's business portfolio analysis and strategic marketing groups. Previously, Lucia held a variety of leadership positions in global technology companies Westinghouse, Digital Equipment, Compaq and AlliedSignal. Lucia graduated from Simmons College where she earned a B.A. in Management. She currently chairs the Board of Trustees at Simmons College and is an overseer of the Museum of Science in Boston. Lucia is also a member of The Committee of 200, an organization of leading businesswomen.

David McFaul is Senior Vice President of International at Boston Scientific Corporation. Prior to this role, David was Regional President of Asia-Pacific & Japan operations. He joined the Company in 1995 to oversee the development of the Company's Canadian business and most recently was President of the Company's Japan operations. Prior to this, David was Vice President of Sales, Inter-Continental. In this role, he was responsible for overall sales execution for the businesses, which included training and developing more than 400 sales representatives and 85 sales managers in 35 countries. He also implemented a new "on-boarding" program for new hires, developed a clinical training program, and created a high-performance sales management program for the Inter-Continental business. Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Company's operations in Latin America, Canada and South Africa where he increased revenue nearly 50 percent. Prior to this, David was General Manager, Canada and South Africa, Country Manager of Canada and National Sales Manager, Canada for the Company. Prior to Boston Scientific, David held sales, marketing and general management positions at a variety of medical-related companies including Stryker Corporation, EBI Medical Systems, Baxter Corporation, and Abbott Labs. David earned a B.A. in History and Geography from Simon Fraser University and took graduate courses at Simon Fraser University Graduate School.

Paul Donovan is Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications at Boston Scientific Corporation. He is responsible for the Company's communications activities, including media relations, employee communications and brand identity. He also serves as the Company's spokesman. Paul brings more than 25 years of communications experience to Boston Scientific. Before joining the Company in 2000, he was Executive Director of External Affairs at Georgetown University Medical Center. Previously he was Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He served for 10 years on the staff of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, first as Press Secretary and later as Chief of Staff. Prior to that he served as a press aide to Senator John F. Kerry. He holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council and the Massachusetts High Tech Council, and he is an Overseer of Children's Hospital in Boston.

Steve Moreci is Senior Vice President and Group President for Endosurgery responsible for Boston Scientific's Endoscopy, Urology/Gynecology and Oncology businesses. Steve joined Boston Scientific in 1989 as Vice President and General Manager for the Cardiac Assist business. In 1991, he was appointed Vice President and General Manager for the newly formed Endoscopy business. In 1994, Steve was given the additional responsibility for the company's Urology and Gynecology business and was promoted to Group Vice President.

Mr. McGinnis joined Acera in July 2004 after serving as President & CEO of two biotechnology companies in Canada. Prior to those responsibilities, he was employed in a variety of management roles at Eli Lilly and Company throughout the United States and Canada. His responsibilities included General Manager of Hybritech Imaging and Therapeutics in San Diego, General Manager of Medical Devices and Diagnostics (now Guidant Canada), Vice President of Endocrine Business Unit (Canada) and Segment Leader of Institutional Accounts for Lilly USA. His career at Eli Lilly spanned 27 years.

Harvey T. Strosberg, Q.C., LL.D, D.C.L. is a senior partner at Sutts, Strosberg LLP. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1971 and is also a member of the Alberta bar. He has been a bencher (director) of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Law Society of Ontario) since 1987 and served as its Treasurer (President) from 1997 to 1999. His practice is concentrated in civil litigation with his main focus on commercial and class action litigation. Mr. Strosberg has extensive trial and appellate experience in the areas of negligence, personal injury, product liability, insurance law, commercial disputes and class actions. He is the editor of The Canadian Class Action Review and is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Windsor and teaches a course in class action law.

Gary Zaro is a Quality Manager/Engineering Director with 30 years experience in quality and reliability engineering in production and new product development in diverse environments, including 16 years of Medical Device experience at Guidant Corp. He has an MS-Physics from San Jose State University, and is an ASQ Certified Quality Manager and Certified Quality Engineer. As Quality Manager for Guidant Endovascular Solutions, Gary managed numerous quality programs, including evaluation of peripheral, carotid, neurological stent and embolic protection systems requiring CE Mark and Food & Drug Administration 510K approval and Investigation Exemption (IDE) submissions. He managed review and approval of new product development process validation and approved project risk analyses. As Principal Quality Engineer for Guidant Endovascular, Gary completed a peripheral stent system project from concept phase to market release; he wrote the project risk analysis, quality plan, test methods, and filed test reports and protocols. Earlier, as Engineering Director for Guidant Vascular Intervention, Gary managed evaluation of coronary stent systems requiring FDA Pre-Market Approval and Investigational Exemption (IDE) submissions. As Reliability Department head for Guidant Vascular Intervention, Gary managed evaluation of balloon dilatation catheters, guide wires, and accessories requiring FDA Pre-Market Approval (PMA), Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) and 510k submissions. Gary's earliest experience was in regulatory compliance, quality engineering and reliability engineering with Victor Technologies, Xerox, Acurex and Westinghouse Corp. Most recently, Gary has been consulting in quality program management. Recent assignments included completing quality system corrective actions to close out audit action items and processing and investigating complaints for CryoVascular Systems.

After retiring from the US Air Force, David and his family settled in the Temecula Valley. He and his wife, Terry, have four children. He serves as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources for the National University System. His prior experience includes a twenty year career with the United States Air Force. He holds a BA in Vocational Education from Southern Illinois University, a MA in Management from University of Redlands and is currently completing a PhD in Organizational Development from Capella University. Dave is the immediate past president of the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors serving in that capacity for four years. Not a newcomer to Habitat, David previously helped build houses in Alabama and Florida.

Prior to joining Bristol-Myers Squibb, Jim served as chairman emeritus of the Guidant Board of Directors upon closing of its merger into Boston Scientific in April 2006. He had previously served as chairman and CEO during the merger process and was responsible for the company's initial public offering and subsequent split-off from Eli Lilly and Company. Jim was a member of the Board of Directors of Lilly, a member of its Executive Committee and chief financial officer from 1983 to 1995. From 1980-1982, he served as president and CEO of IVAC Corporation, previously a Lilly subsidiary. He continues to serve on the Boards of Given Imaging Ltd. and DIRECTV Group. Jim has received several honorary doctorate degrees in recognition of his civic and philanthropic activities in Indiana. Jim is president of the Cornelius Family Foundation and has served United Way of Central Indiana in several leadership positions. Jim's passion is football. "I'm a Colts fan because they have been so successful on the field. They have one star who gets all the press, but it's a team effort. I like successful teams in sports and in business and our plan for Bristol-Myers Squibb is to be successful, both for our patients and for our stockholders." Jim was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree magna cum laude in accounting in 1965 and an MBA in 1967. He is married with two adult children.

Dr. Watanabe serves as Volunteer Chairman of BioCrossroads, Indiana 's leading public-private life science network. He retired from Eli Lilly and Company in June of 2003, as Executive Vice President, Science and Technology, and President of Lilly Research Lab. He remains on the company's Board of Directors. He has also been involved with Guidant Corporation since 2001 as Board Member and Chair of the Board Science and Technology Strategy Committee. Dr. Watanabe is the Former Chairman, Department of Medicine (1983-1990) of Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was involved with cardiac research, teaching, and practice from 1975 to 1990. Previously, he completed post-graduate work in cardiology and clinical pharmacology. He is a Director of Endocyte and QuatRx Pharmaceutical Company. Dr. Watanabe earned his MD at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Mr. Step was appointed a director of Cell Genesys in March 1993. From 1973 to 1992, Mr. Step served in various positions in senior management of Eli Lilly and Company, most recently as executive vice president, president of the pharmaceutical division and a member of the board of directors and its executive committee. He was chairman of the board of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and a past president of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association. He is also a director of Scios, Inc., Medco, Inc., Guidant Corporation, Pathogenesis Corporation and DBT Online Inc. Mr. Step holds a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Nebraska and an M.S. in finance and accounting from the University of Illinois.

Joel L. Fleishman has been a Director of Boston Scientific since 1992. He is also Professor of Law and Public Policy at Duke University where he has served in various administrative positions, including First Senior Vice President, since 1971. Mr. Fleishman is a founding member of the governing board of the Duke Center for Health Policy Research and Education and was the founding director from 1971 to 1983 of Duke University's Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy. He is the director of the Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center for Ethics, Public Policy and the Professions and the director of the Duke University Philanthropic Research Program. From 1993 to 2001, Mr. Fleishman took a part time leave from Duke University to serve as President of the Atlantic Philanthropic Service Company, the U.S. program staff of Atlantic Philanthropies. Mr. Fleishman also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Center for Effective Philanthropy and the Partnership for Public Service, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Urban Institute, Chairman of The Visiting Committee of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and as a director of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation. Mr. Fleishman received A.B., M.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an LL.M. degree from Yale University.

Mr. Brauer was CFO of Guidant from the company's inception until it was acquired by Boston Scientific in 2006. While at Guidant, he was also responsible for information systems, treasury and investor relations. Prior to joining Guidant, Mr. Brauer spent 20 years with Eli Lilly and Company, where he held various positions, including Executive Director, International Finance and Chief Accounting Officer; Director of Corporate Affairs; Vice President of Finance and Treasurer for its Physio-Control subsidiary; Controller of its Elizabeth Arden subsidiary; and Coordinator of Business Planning for its Medical Devices and Diagnostics division. Mr. Brauer was also a financial analyst for Ford Motor Company and a member of the Air National Guard. Mr. Brauer currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors and finance committee for Community Hospitals of Indiana and is the Audit Committee Chair and a Member of the Board of Directors of Suros Surgical Systems, Inc., and Endocyte, Inc. He holds a B.S. from Indiana University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Dr. W. Gerald Austen, M.D., has served as a Director of the Company since 1985. Since 1974 he has been the Edward D. Churchill Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and at Massachusetts General Hospital. From 1969 to 1997, Dr. Austen was Chief of the Surgical Services at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Austen is the former President of the American College of Surgeons, the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the American Surgical Association and the Massachusetts and American Heart Associations. Dr. Austen is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a life member of the corporation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Mr. Ronald W. Dollens joined ABIOMED's Board of Directors in January 2006. Mr. Dollens is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer and founding board member of Guidant Corporation, the $3.7 billion company he formed following its split-off from Eli Lilly and Company in 1995. Prior to his position at Guidant, Mr. Dollens was President of Eli Lilly's Medical Devices and Diagnostics Division (MDD). Mr. Dollens' industry leadership includes the position as past Director and Chairman of the Board of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), the world's largest medical technology association; as well as past Chairman of the Healthcare Leadership Counsel. He has served on the Advisory Committee on Regulatory Reform, a group appointed by former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson.
