Tony Knowles is one of the founders and has been a partner in Hanley & Co. since 1991. He is the Audit partner and provides assistance to companies, which require reorganising, whether in terms of shareholdings or debt refinance. Tonys Portfolio also incorporates due diligence work and reporting on business acquisition through outright purchase or management buy-out.

Steve Jones, aged 41, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and he joined The Hanley in 1991 following a career in the accountancy profession. During his time with The Hanley Steve has gained a wealth of experience in a number of roles, ranging from Internal Audit to General Manager Operations.

Ted Turner, age 59, is a Chartered Accountant and was a partner in KPMG for 21 years being, the managing partner of the KPMG Potteries practice for 8 years. During his years with KPMG, he worked with the building society industry and other sectors of financial services and he has experience of the regulatory environment under which the industry operates. He sits on the Society's Assets & Liabilities and Audit Committees as well as being Chairman of the Society.

David Webster, age 44, joined The Hanley in January 2002 as Chief Executive (Designate) and was formally appointed Chief Executive in April 2002. He spent the previous 12 years at the Bradford & Bingley Plc, latterly as Regional Director for the North West, and his career in the financial services sector has included strategic involvement in the expansion of an Independent Financial Advice business and the acquisition of the Black Horse estate agency chain whilst at Bradford & Bingley.

Edward Jenner, age 49, was appointed to the board as a non-executive director in January 1998 and is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He is a Non-Executive Director of CORGI and was Strategic Development Director of Wedgwood Group having previously been Wedgwood Group Finance Director since 1994.

Francis Stafford, age 50, was appointed to the board as a non-executive director in January 1993, appointed Vice-Chairman in December 1997, is Chairman of the Assets and Liabilities Committee and sits on the Remuneration Committee. He is President and Patron of various organisations within North Staffordshire including Pro-Chancellor at Keele University and Vice-Chairman at Harper Adams University College.

Terry Walsh, age 51, joined the board as a Non-Executive Director in June 2001. Although best known as a broadcaster with BBC Radio Stoke, he has spent much of his career as a TV Producer and Director working on such productions as The Generation Game, Jim'll Fix It and Blankety Blank.

Wendy Jennings, aged 50, was appointed to the board as a Non-Executive Director in July 2001 and became Chair of the Audit Committee at the end of 2001. She is a solicitor who trainined with commercial City of London firm Lovell White & King, before joining local law firm, Knight & Sons. Wendy joined Wedgwood in 1982 and from 1987 to 1999 was Company Secretary for Waterford Wedgwood UK plc and also headed the Wedgwood Group Legal department.
