Rob Younge joined Frederic Moll, M.D., in 2002 to co-found Hansen Medical, where he is the company’s chief technology officer. In April 2006 he was appointed Principal Fellow. Prior to this, Younge co-founded Intuitive Surgical Inc., in 1995, and held the position of CTO. In 1979, Younge co-founded Acuson Corporation, a leading ultrasound developer and manufacturer, where he served as the company’s vice president of engineering from 1979 – 1989. In 1991, Younge became the general manager of Acuson’s transducer division, where he played a strategic role in introducing the company’s first flexible endoscopic ultrasound transducers. Acuson was acquired by Siemens Medical Solutions in 2000.
Younge holds both a bachelor’s and master of science in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
Steven Van Dick joined Hansen Medical in December 2005 as vice president of finance and administration and CFO. Prior to this, he was CFO for CryoVascular Systems, Inc., a medical device manufacturer, where he played a significant role in the completion of the merger between Cryo and Boston Scientific Corp. Before joining Cyro in April 2001, Van Dick served as CFO for Protogene Laboratories, Inc., a DNA microarray supplier. Beginning in 1996, Van Dick was CFO for CardioThoracic Systems, Inc., a medical device company, where he played a significant role in the completion of the merger between CTS and Guidant Corporation. Van Dick has worked in the medical device and imaging industry for 22 years in senior finance and administration roles. He began his career in 1978 at Main Hurdman, where he completed his certification as a CPA.
Van Dick received a masters in business administration from the University of Santa Clara, and a bachelor of science in business administration, with a concentration in accounting from San Jose State University.

Christopher Sells joined Hansen Medical in June 2008 as the company’s senior vice president of commercial operations. Sells brings with him 21 years of experience within the medical device industry. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of the Americas for Aesthera Corporation. Prior to this, Sells was vice president of sales for Intuitive Surgical, Inc., where he was responsible for the Western United States robotic surgery business and was an integral part of the sales leadership team that built the company from an early stage start-up organization to over $400 million in revenue. While at Intuitive Surgical, Sells received consecutive U.S. vice president of the year awards. He also held senior management positions for Neotonus, Inc., Indigo Medical, Inc., LCA Vision and United States Surgical Corporation.

M. Sean Murphy, Ph.D., joined the company as a program management consultant in November 2005 and in April 2006 became Hansen's Senior Vice President, Engineering. From January 2001 to April 2005, Dr. Murphy served as Vice President, Engineering of Siemens Medical Solutions, a supplier of information technology solutions. From August 1996 to December 2000, Dr. Murphy served as director of engineering of Acuson Corporation, a manufacturer and service provider of diagnostic medical ultrasound systems. Dr. Murphy holds a B.S. and a Ph.D. from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.
Dan Wallace joined Frederic Moll, M.D., in 2002 to co-found Hansen Medical, where he is the vice president of regulatory and clinical affairs. Prior to this, Wallace directed the creation and development of the robotic instruments at Intuitive Surgical, and was responsible for the group who designed, released and manufactured a suite of 13 robotically controlled surgical instruments. Before joining Intuitive Surgical, Wallace designed laparoscopic instruments for Origin MedSystems, as well as implantable highfidelity hearing aids for Symphonic Devices. He also worked as a flight controller in Houston Mission Control for the Space Shuttle program.
Wallace received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Rice University, and a master of science in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.

Russell is a Managing Director of Prospect Venture Partners. Russell co-founded Prospect Venture Partners II and III, as dedicated life science funds with over $1 billion in capital under management. Prior to establishing Prospect Venture Partners II and III, Russell was a member of the Health Care Technology Group at Mayfield. He joined Mayfield in 1992, served as a Venture Partner from 1993 to 1994 and as a General Partner from 1995-2000. Russell played a key role in Mayfield's investment activities in the biotechnology and medical device sectors. As an Associate, he participated actively in the incubation of Millennium Pharmaceuticals and as a General Partner he was responsible for the incubation of Intuitive Surgical Devices both of which are now publicly traded. (NASDAQ: MLNM), (NASDAQ:ISRG). Prior to Mayfield, Russell was at the University of California San Francisco from 1984-1992 where he was engaged in biomedical research. His work, published in a variety of respected journals, focused on important aspects of hepatitis B viral replication. His descriptions of the reverse transcription and packaging functions of polymerase gene products merited publication in Nature. Russell serves or has served on the Board of Directors of Intuitive Surgical (NASDAQ: ISRG), Sunesis (NASDAQ: SNSS), Valentis (NASDAQ: VLTS), Opus Medical (NASDAQ: ARTC), Orquest (NASDAQ: JNJ), Visiogen, AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Hansen Medical, Portola Pharmaceuticals, Baxano, Dfine and several other privately-held companies. Russell serves as the Vice Chairman of the BOD of Interplast and on the Genetics Advisory Council of the Harvard Medical School-Partners Healthcare Center for Genetics and Genomics.
