Harland Financial Solutions

Phil Theodore was named Senior Vice President and General Counsel of John H. Harland Company in 2006. He replaces John Walters who will retire in early 2007. He is responsible for all of Harland's legal and corporate governance activities. Theodore brings almost 30 years of legal experience to Harland, most recently as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Serologicals Corporation prior to its acquisition by Millipore Corporation earlier this year. He joined Serologicals in 2004 after a 22-year career with King & Spalding LLP, where he specialized in mergers, acquisitions, corporate governance and corporate finance. Theodore received his bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Scott Hansen is the Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Marketing for Harland Financial Solutions. His business development and marketing responsibilities revolve around demonstrating and promoting the value of the Harland Financial Solutions family of products and services. Prior to his current responsibilities, Scott Hansen spent 13 years focused on Harland's Decision Support product line, which includes the Touche Analyzer (formerly Max$ell) system. Hansen started his career in the financial industry at a $2 billion savings institution, where he was one of the earliest users of the Touche Analyzer (formerly Max$ell) MCIF system.

As Vice President of Human Resources, Barbara Brescia is responsible for all HR strategy and initiatives supporting the Harland Financial Solutions business units and corporate objectives. Barbara has over 20 years of HR experience, 10 years of which has been in an executive HR leadership role for technology companies. Barbara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Supervision, and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology. In 2007 she will complete her Ph.D. in Adult Education.

Jana Miller Schmidt is vice president of business development focused on how financial institutions can leverage the multiple solutions offered by Harland to help meet their business objectives. Prior to being named vice president of business development in 2005, Miller Schmidt had more than 15 years of sales experience with Harland ranging from heading the company's community market efforts to expanding Harland's relationship with some of the largest financial organizations in the country.

Stan Muir serves as Harland Financial Solutions' Vice President and General Counsel, with principal responsibility for managing the legal affairs of Harland Financial Solutions. Stan oversees all legal matters affecting Harland Financial Solutions, including general corporate matters, acquisitions and divestitures, software licensing, intellectual property and dispute resolution. Prior to joining Harland Financial Solutions, Stan served as corporate counsel for NCR Corporation, McDermott Incorporated and the Babcock & Wilcox Company, with domestic and international experience spanning computer-based hardware and software, off-shore oil, nuclear power and aerospace. During the six years before joining Harland Financial Solutions, Stan was in private practice focusing on commercial, international and intellectual property matters. Stan has an undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and received his J.D. from William and Mary. He is a member of the Virginia and Ohio bars and the federal Patent bar. Stan was an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Lynchburg College for 3 years and a member of the Board of Advisors for the International Quarterly published by Business Laws, Inc. He has published articles on international transactions and has lectured and held seminars on intellectual property, international transactions and Year 2000 topics. Download photo now.

Joe Filoseta is Executive Vice President of the Mortgage Solutions Group at Harland Financial Solutions, where he is responsible for strategy, solutions development and go-to-market activities. The Mortgage Solutions Group offers business solutions to support every aspect of mortgage lending and servicing, including INTERLINQ loan production platforms, which are used by more lenders than any other system. Joe has worked with the mortgage group since 2002 and brings more than 20 years of financial services industry experience. Prior to Harland Financial Solutions, Filoseta was division president of First American Default Management Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of The First American Corporation.
