Mr. Jamison has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since January 1, 2009; as a Managing Director since January 2004; as President and Chief Operating Officer from January 2005 to December 31, 2008; as Treasurer from March 2005 to May 2008; as Chief Financial Officer from January 2005 to December 2007; and as Vice President from September 2002 to December 2004. He has been a member of our Board of Directors since May 2007. Since January 1, 2009, he is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Harris & Harris Enterprises, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, a Director since January 2005, and President from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2008. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Jamison worked as a Senior Technology Manager at the University of Utah Technology Transfer Office, where he managed intellectual property for the University of Utah. This included assessing technologies in both the biological sciences and the physical sciences, working with patent attorneys to develop patent protection, and developing and marketing these technologies with industry. He is a Co-Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Nanotechnology Law & Business and Co-Chair of the Advisory Board, Converging Technology Bar Association and a member of the University of Pennsylvania Nano-Bio Interface Ethics Advisory Board. He was graduated from Dartmouth College (B.A.) and the University of Utah (M.S.). Portfolio responsibilities: Ancora Pharmaceuticals, Mersana Therapeutics, Metabolon, Nextreme Thermal Solutions, Solazyme and Starfire Systems.

Mr. Wolfe joined Harris & Harris Group in 2004. He served as Vice President from 2004 to 2007, Senior Associate from 2005 to 2006 and Principal from 2006 to 2007. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Wolfe was a consultant to Nanosys, Inc., CW Group, and Bioscale, Inc., and was the Co-founder and President of Scientific Venture Assessments, Inc., a provider of scientific analysis of prospective investments for private equity placements and of scientific expertise to high-technology companies. He was graduated from Harvard University with a Ph.D. and A.M. in Chemistry. He was a NSF Predoctoral Fellow at Harvard, and his thesis advisor was Professor George Whitesides. He was also graduated from Rice University with B.A. in Chemistry, where he worked with Professor Naomi Halas, and his honors included the Zevi and Bertha Salsburg Memorial Award in Chemistry and the Presidential Honor Role. He has published over 15 articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals.

Ms. Egan has served as Chief Accounting Officer, as a Vice President and as Senior Controller since June 2005. From June 2005 to to December 2005, from August 2006 to March 2008 and from May 2008 to December 31, 2008, she served as an Assistant Secretary. Since January 2006, she has served as Treasurer and as Secretary of Harris & Harris Enterprises, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. From 1996 to 2005, she served as a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in its financial services group from 1996 to 2005. Ms. Egan was graduated from Georgetown University (B.S., Accounting), where her honors included the Othmar F. Winkler Award for Excellence in Community Service. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ms. Forman has served as General Counsel, as Chief Compliance Officer and as Director of Human Resources since August 2004 and as our Corporate Secretary since January 1, 2009. From 2001 to 2004, she was an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, in the Investment Management Group. She served as an intern from August to December 2000 in the office of the General Counsel, United States Department of Defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense. From June to August 1999, she served as an intern for the Honorable Ronald S. Lew, United States Federal District Court, Central District of California. She was graduated from New York University (B.A.), where her honors included National Journalism Honor Society, and from the University of California Los Angeles (J.D.), where her honors included Order of the Coif and membership on the Law Review. She is currently a member of the working group for the National Venture Capital Association model documents.

Mr. Andreev has served as an Executive Vice President and as a Managing Director since March 2005. From 2002 to March 2005, he was an Associate with Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), a venture capital firm, where he was exclusively focused on nanotechnology and material science investment opportunities. While at DFJ, he played an integral role in sourcing and funding EoPlex, Intematix, Solicore and D-Wave Systems, for which companies he served as an active Board Director or Observer. Previously, he worked for TLcom Capital Partners, a London-based venture capital fund backed by Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, he was employed by Renaissance Capital Group/Sputnik Funds, a venture capital fund in Moscow, Russia. Before he started his business career, he was a researcher at the Centre of Nanotechnology, ISAN (RAS), in Troitsk, Russia, where he was focused on optical and electrical properties of Quantum Dot heterostructures. He was graduated from the Department of Theoretical Physics of Moscow Steel & Alloys Institute (Ph.D.), where he was a recipient of the Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists of Russian Academia of Sciences, the Scholarship from the International Center of Fundamental Physics and Soros Scientific Foundation. He also was graduated from Moscow Steel & Alloys Institute (B.S.) with honors in Engineering/Material Sciences and from Stanford Graduate School of Business (M.B.A.). Portfolio responsibilities: CFX Battery, Cobalt BioFuels, C-Switch, D-Wave Systems, Kovio, Molecular Imprints, NanoGram, NeoPhotonics, PolyRemedy and Xradia.

Michael Janse is a Managing Director and Executive Vice President of Harris & Harris Group, Inc., based in the company's Palo Alto office. Harris & Harris Group is a publicly-held venture capital company (NASDAQ: TINY) focused on making investments in "tiny technology," which includes nanotechnology, microsystems and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Prior to joining Harris & Harris Group, Michael was a Principal with ARCH Venture Partners in the firm's Chicago office, focusing on nanotechnology, semiconductors and advanced materials technologies. His role at ARCH included a particular focus on technologies emanating from universities, research labs and national labs. Prior to ARCH, Mr. Janse worked in Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector as a process engineer, and later marketed semiconductor components to manufacturers of personal computers and networking products. Michael holds an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University.

Ms. Brady has served as a Vice President and as Controller since Novermber 2005. From November 2005 to March 2008, she served as an Assistant Secretary. From 2003 through 2005, she served as a senior accountant at Clarendon Insurance Company in its program accounting group from 2003 through 2005. From 2000 to 2003, she served as a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in its financial services group. Ms. Brady graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lehman College (B.S., Accounting). She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ms. Ushio has served as a Vice President and Associate since May 2007. From June 2006 to May 2007, she was a Technology Licensing Officer at Columbia University, where she managed the nanotechnology and materials science invention and patent portfolios. From May 1996 to May 2006, she was employed by Merck & Co., Inc., most recently as a Senior Biochemical Engineer with the Bioprocess R&D group. She is a graduate of University College London (Ph.D., Biochemical Engineering), Lehigh University (M.S., Chemical Engineering) and Johns Hopkins University (B.S., Chemical Engineering). Portfolio responsibilities: Ancora Pharmaceuticals, Biovex, Ensemble Discovery, Mersana Therapeutics and Questech.

Dr. Bardin is President of Bardin LLC, a consulting firm to pharmaceutical companies. From 1998 to 2003, he served as President of Thyreos Corp., a privately held, start-up pharmaceutical company. From 1978 through 1996, he was Vice President of The Population Council, an international non-profit organization focusing on population issues. He has held appointments as Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of Pennsylvania State University, and Senior Investigator, Endocrinology Branch, National Cancer Institute. He has directed basic and clinical research leading to over 500 publications and patents. He has also served as a consultant to several pharmaceutical companies. He has been appointed to the editorial boards of 15 journals. He has served on committees and boards for the National Institute of Health, World Health Organization, The Ford Foundation, and various scientific societies. He was graduated from Rice University (B.A.), from Baylor University (M.S., M.D.) and he received a Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Caen, the University of Paris, and the University of Helsinki.

Mr. Ramsey has been a consultant since 1997. He is a retired founder and principal of Ramsey/Beirne Associates, Inc., an executive search firm that specialized in recruiting top officers for high-technology companies, many of which were backed by venture capital. He is a member of the board of directors and Chairman Emeritus of Bridges to Community, a non-governmental organization dedicated to construction projects in Nicaragua. As Chairman Emeritus, he serves on the Executive, Personnel and Administration and Fund Development Committees. He was graduated from Wittenberg University (B.A.).

Mr. Browne is President since 2004 and a Trustee since 2000 of Planting Fields Foundation, a supporting institution of Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park. From 2001 to 2003, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a not-for-profit institution that conducts research and education programs in the biological sciences; he was its Administrative Director from 1985 to 2000. In prior years, he was active in the management of numerous scientifically based companies as an officer, as an individual consultant and as an associate of Laurent Oppenheim Associates, Industrial Management Consultants. Mr. Browne is chairman of OSI Pharmaceuticals Foundation which supports cancer and diabetes patient care and science education. He was a founding Director of the New York Biotechnology Association. He is a graduate of Yale University (B.A.).

Mr. Roberts is President of AequiCap Insurance Company. He is also a senior office of various other AequipCap affiliated entities. From 2002 to 2005, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer of the Reinsurance Division of Alea North America Company and Senior Vice President of Alea North American Insurance Company. From 1999 to 2002, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Insurance Company of New York, Dakota Specialty Insurance Company, and ReCor Insurance Company Inc., all members of Trenwick Group, Ltd. Mr. Roberts has held senior executive positions with other companies in the Trenwick Group. Mr. Roberts is a graduate of Cornell University (A.B.).

Mr. Shanley is a retired Partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP (2001 to 2006). He worked for Eisner LLP from 1976 to 2001. During his over 30 years of public accounting experience, he served as lead audit partner on numerous audit engagements for public and private companies and companies making public stock offerings, including those requiring application of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. He served as lead audit partner primarily for biotech, pharmaceutical and high-tech companies, including companies enabled by nanotechnology. He has been actively involved on the Biotech Council of New Jersey, the New Jersey Technology Council, the New York Biotechnology Association, the Connecticut Venture Group, the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the NanoBusiness Alliance. He is an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently serving his third term on the New York State Society of CPA's Professional Ethics Committee. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey and New York. He was graduated from Fordham University (B.S.) and Long Island University (M.B.A. in Accounting).

Susan T. Harris. Ms. Harris, age 62, has served as our Secretary since July 2001. From July 1999 to July 2003, she was employed by Harris & Harris Enterprises, Inc., our wholly owned subsidiary, working primarily in financial public relations. From July 2001 to July 2003, she served as Secretary and Treasurer of Harris & Harris Enterprises, Inc. Since 1972, she has been an investor relations consultant, operating as a sole proprietor prior to 1999, and again from July 2003 to the present. She was graduated from Wellesley College (B.A., Economics). Ms. Harris's husband serves as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and as a Managing Director of the Company.

Mr. Ayres is Chief Operating Officer of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a research and educational institution in the biological sciences since November 2000. Prior to joining Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in 1998, Mr. Ayres had a 20-year business career during which he worked as a corporate executive, investment banker and entrepreneur. In 1996, he co-founded Business & Trade Network, Inc., a business-to-business, venture capital-backed internet company. Prior to that he worked for five years as a Managing Director of Veronis, Suhler & Associates, a boutique investment banking firm in New York specializing in the media/communications industry. At Veronis, Suhler, he focused on investing the firms's private equity fund. He was graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. degree in English and from Columbia University Graduate Shcool of Business with an M.B.A.
