The facility includes more than 280 general acute-care beds and 50 psychiatric and behavioral health beds. Deborah Paganelli, CHE, joined Harris Methodist H E B Hospital as its president in June 2007. Previously, Paganelli had served as president of Harris Methodist Erath County Hospital (HMEC) since the spring of 2004. Under her leadership, Harris Methodist Erath County Hospital has received many honors and recognitions. HMEC was the first hospital in the THR system to be designated as a Nurse-Friendly Hospital by the Texas Nurses Association. HMEC was designated as a Level IV Trauma Center and received the Premier Quality Award of Excellence for Maternal Newborn during her tenure. In addition to honors and recognitions, HMEC saw many changes under Paganelli's leadership. The Laboratory doubled in size and two new service lines were added in 2006 - Community Outreach Department and Center for Wound Care. The Radiology department began its expansion project to increase space and technology. Paganelli earned her bachelors degree in biology at the University of Texas in Austin and her Master of Science degree in healthcare administration from Texas Woman's University. She is a diplomate with the American College of Healthcare Executives. Prior to joining HMEC, Paganelli served as Chief Operating Officer of Alice Regional Hospital and Vice President of Memorial Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Paganelli is a 2005 graduate of the Leadership Stephenville program. She also serves on various committees and task groups within THR including chair of the Red Vision Team and Community Health Advisory Council.
