Mr. Ayer is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, positions he has held since February 1, 1997. He previously was Executive Vice President of the Company from December 1995 to February 1997 and President and Chief Operating Officer of Hartford Fire Insurance Company, the Company's principal property and casualty insurance subsidiary, from 1991 to February 1997. Mr. Ayer joined the Company in 1973 as a member of the operations research department.

John C. Walters is president and chief operating officer for Hartford Life, Inc., the life insurance subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: HIG). He is also is also a member of the company's Office of the Chairman. In this position, Walters is responsible for a global company with $13.4 billion in annual revenues and $372 billion in assets under management as of December 2007. Hartford Life employs more than 10,000 professionals worldwide with operations across the United States and internationally in Japan, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada. Mr. Wolin, 47, is an Executive Vice President of the Company and serves as President and Chief Operating Officer for property and casualty operations, positions he has held since June 11, 2007. He previously held the positions of Executive Vice President and General Counsel from March 20, 2001 until June 11, 2007, where he oversaw the company’s legal, government affairs, corporate relations, communications and marketing functions, as well as the property and casualty’s insurance runoff operations. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Wolin served as General Counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 1999 to January 2001. In that capacity, he headed Treasury’s legal division, composed of 2,000 lawyers supporting all of Treasury’s offices and bureaus, including the Internal Revenue Service, Customs, Secret Service, Public Debt, the Office of Thrift Supervision, the Financial Management Service, the U.S. Mint and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Mr. Wolin served as the Deputy General Counsel of the Department of the Treasury from 1995 to 1999. Prior to joining the Treasury Department, he served in the White House, first as the Executive Assistant to the National Security Advisor and then as the Deputy Legal Advisor to the National Security Council. Mr. Wolin joined the U.S. Government in 1991 as special assistant to the Directors of Central Intelligence, William H. Webster, Robert M. Gates and R. James Woolsey.

Thomas M. Marra is president and chief operating officer of The Hartford, one of the nation's largest financial services and insurance companies, a position he was elected to in June 2007. In this role, Marra oversees the businesses of the company's life and property and casualty operations. Marra is also a member of The Hartford's board of directors, the Office of the Chairman, and The Hartford Mutual Funds Board of Directors, and is president of the life insurance subsidiaries owned by Hartford Life. Previously, Marra was chief operating officer and president of The Hartford's life operations, positions he assumed in 2000 and 2001, respectively. Under Marra's leadership, Hartford Life is a leading seller of retail variable annuities in the U.S. and in Japan. In addition, Hartford Life is a leading seller of variable universal life insurance and group retirement plans, as well as the leader in group life and disability insurance. Marra, an employee of Hartford Life since 1980, was named vice president and director of the Individual Annuity Division in 1990. In 1994, he was named senior vice president and director of Individual Life and Annuities, and in 1996 was named executive vice president. An active participant within the life insurance and financial planning industries, Marra is the chairman of the board of directors of the American Council of Life Insurers. He is also a member of the board of trustees for St. Bonaventure University and the board of trustees of The Bushnell Performing Arts Center, Hartford, Conn. Marra is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Mr. McGreevey, 47, is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of the Company and President of Hartford Investment Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, positions he has held since October 2008. Prior to joining the Company in August 2008, he held the positions of vice chairman and executive vice president of ING Investment Management – Americas from October 2005 through March 2008 and executive vice president and chief investment officer of ING Proprietary Fixed Income from October 2003 through October 2005.

Lizabeth H. Zlatkus is executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., a position she assumed in May 2008. She is a member of the Office of the Chairman. In this capacity, Zlatkus is responsible for corporate strategy, finance, capital and enterprise risk management, investor relations, real estate, procurement and corporate information systems functions. Zlatkus joined The Hartford in its property and casualty business in 1983 after starting her professional career at Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG). Zlatkus held positions of increasing responsibility throughout The Hartford, including chief financial officer of the company's life operations. Her most recent assignment was co-chief operating officer of The Hartford's life operations and president of International Wealth Management and Group Benefits. Under Zlatkus's leadership of International Wealth Management and Group Benefits, The Hartford is the leader in variable annuity assets under management in Japan and the number one seller of fully insured group disability and the number two seller of group life insurance in the U.S. In 2000 and 2006, Zlatkus was named by Business Insurance magazine as one of 100 "Women to Watch." More recently, in 2008, Zlatkus was named one of Greater Hartford's "Eight Remarkable Women" by the Hartford Business Journal. A graduate with distinction, Zlatkus holds a degree from Pennsylvania State University. In 2003, Zlatkus was selected as an alumni fellow and currently serves on the Pennsylvania State University board of visitors. In 1999, Zlatkus was named to The President's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. Additionally, she served on the HP Financial Services board of advisors, the board of directors of the Hartford Action Plan on Infant Health, Inc. and the LOMA board of directors.

Alan J. Kreczko is executive vice president and general counsel of The Hartford, a position he was elected to in June 2007. In his current position, Kreczko is responsible for the company's legal department and government affairs organization. Kreczko joined The Hartford in September 2003 as senior vice president and deputy general counsel where he oversaw the law department's property and casualty, life, investment and compliance units. Prior to joining The Hartford, he held various senior positions within the United States Government. Until 2002, he was the acting Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration, where he led the State Department's response to humanitarian crises in conflict situations, including Afghanistan, Timor, Sudan and West Africa. Prior to that position, he had served as Legal Advisor to President Clinton's National Security Council. He has also served as Deputy General Counsel to the Department of State and as legal advisor to the President of the United States' personal representatives for Middle East negotiations. He earned his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. from Boston College. Kreczko has authored several publications, including an article on humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan. He is a member of the board for the American Red Cross Charter Oak Chapter.

Eileen Whelley joined The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. in December 2006 as executive vice president, global human resources and was named executive vice president for human resources in June 2007. Prior to joining The Hartford, Whelley spent 17 years at General Electric where she held a number of human resources leadership roles. In 2002, she was named executive vice president of human resources for NBC Universal, responsible for HR and talent negotiations for the NBCU Television Group and corporate staff functions. At NBCU, Whelley also led NBCU's diversity and employer-of-choice programs and was named a company officer of GE, NBCU's parent company, in December 2003. Before joining NBCU, Whelley was the vice president of human resources excellence for GE Capital in Stamford, Conn., where she oversaw HR for eight GE Capital businesses, HR Six Sigma and HR talent development. Whelley served as executive vice president of human resources for GE's Employers Reinsurance in Kansas City, Kan. from 1997 to 1999. From 1993 to 1997, she held various HR assignments at GE's corporate headquarters in Fairfield, Conn. Before joining GE in 1989, Whelley worked for Citicorp and Standard Oil of Ohio in a variety of HR roles. She is a graduate of Potsdam College and has a master's degree from Bowling Green State University. Whelley is a member of the corporate council for The White House Project and served on the boards of the Emma Bowen Foundation and the 9/11 Fund. She also was a member of the GE Women's Network since its founding in 1997, served as its co-leader from 2001 through 2003, and remained on its executive board until 2006. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, Don, and their two children.

Connie Weaver joined The Hartford on February 25, 2008, as senior vice president, marketing and communications, reporting to the CEO Ramani Ayer. She also serves as a member of the Office of the Chairman. In her role, Weaver oversees marketing and communications for the company. Her areas of focus include the company’s brand management and advertising, media and community relations and executive and employee communications. Weaver comes to The Hartford with an impressive record of achievement in marketing, investor and media relations, communications, teaching, and brand management experience for such high-profile companies as AT&T, Microsoft, MCI and McGraw-Hill. Most recently, Weaver served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at BearingPoint, a global management and technology consulting firm. Throughout her career, she has consistently earned industry recognition, including BtoB Magazine's Who's Who list of Top Marketers in 2004, 2006 and 2007, and the Business Marketing Association's Communicator of the Year Award for her efforts at AT&T, as well as various awards in the field of investor relations. She is widely published in the area of communications and investor relations. Weaver serves on the board of Digital Angel Inc. and The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts and is active in several professional, national and community-based organizations. Weaver holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland and has completed post-graduate financial management, marketing and strategic planning courses at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and Imede (Switzerland). She has also completed the executive finance program at Stanford University.

Ms. Bombara, 41, has held the positions of Senior Vice President and Controller of the Company since June 4, 2007. Since joining the Company in April 2004 as a Vice President, with primary responsibility for the Company’s compliance with the internal control requirements set forth in Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, Ms. Bombara has held positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to assuming the role of Senior Vice President and Controller of the Company, Ms. Bombara held the position of Vice President, Deputy Controller, with responsibility for external financial reporting, accounting policy and internal management reporting, while continuing to oversee Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Bombara worked for the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP from June 2002 to April 2004, where she served as a Senior Manager in the audit practice. Ms. Bombara began her career in accounting at the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP, where she was promoted to audit partner in September 2001.

Ms. Grady has been a director of the Company since December 2006. She has served as an independent consultant since her retirement from Hartford Life, a subsidiary of Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. Ms. Grady served as Executive Vice President and Director of Information Systems and Services at Hartford Life from 2002-2004 and as Senior Vice President and Director of Investment Product Services at Hartford Life from 1998-2002. Ms. Grady is also a director of Symetra Financial Corporation.

Mr. Strauss served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Unilever United States, Inc., a primary business group of Unilever, the international food and home and personal care organization ("Unilever"), from May 2000 until his retirement in December 2004. Mr. Strauss is a member of the Board of Directors of Aegis Group plc and The Hershey Company.

Mr. Kelly has served as President of Citigroup Alternative Investments since January 2008. He joined the firm from The Carlyle Group, where he served as Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group since June 2007. He previously was a Vice Chairman of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. from March 2007 to June 2007. Mr. Kelly held the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercantile Bankshares Corporation ("Mercantile") from March 2001 to March 2007 and the position of Chairman of Mercantile from March 2003 to March 2007. Mr. Kelly is a member of the Boards of Directors of CSX Corporation and The Hershey Company.

H. PATRICK SWYGERT served as President of Howard University from 1995 to 2008. Mr. Swygert served as President of the University at Albany, State University of New York from 1990 to 1995, and as Executive Vice President of Temple University from 1987 to 1990. He also serves on the board of The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. Mr. Swygert is a member of the Central Intelligence Agency’s External Advisory Board, the Advisory Council for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, the D.C. Emancipation Commemoration Commission, the U.S. National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Commission on Presidential Debates. He is also a Distinguished Adjunct Lecturer, Institute for National Strategic Studies, National Defense University, Department of Defense. Mr. Swygert has been a UTC director since 2001.

Mr. Kirk is Chairman and President and a director of Kirk & Associates, Inc., a business advisory and consulting firm. Mr. Kirk became a partner in the law firm of Sullivan & Worcester in 1977. Mr. Kirk served as Treasurer of the Democratic Party of the United States from 1983 to 1985 and as Chairman from 1985 until his resignation from that position in 1989. He became Of Counsel to Sullivan & Worcester in 1990 in general corporate practice at the firm's Boston and Washington offices, until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Kirk also is a member of the Board of Directors of Rayonier, Inc. and Cedar Shopping Centers, Inc.

Mr. Allardice, 61, began his financial services career at Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc., where he spent nearly 20 years in positions of accelerating responsibility. He founded the company's Merger Arbitrage Department and later became chief operating officer of the Equity Department. He was also a founding member of Morgan Stanley's Finance Committee. Following Morgan Stanley, he was with Smith Barney, and later with Deutsche Bank Americas Holding Corporation, where he held the position of regional chief executive officer, North and South America, and of advisory director, among other posts. Mr. Allardice is a retired board member of Bankers Trust Company, Carlyle Capital Corporation Ltd., Deutsche Bank Americas Holding Corporation and Worldwide Excellerated Leasing Limited. He earned a B.A. from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and was also a U.S. Navy Officer aboard the USS Wasp.

Mr. Fetter was named President of Tenet Healthcare Corporation effective November 2002 and was appointed its Chief Executive Officer in September 2003. He is also a member of the company's Board of Directors. From March 2000 to November 2002, Mr. Fetter served as Chief Executive Officer of Broadlane, Inc., a provider of technology solutions for the healthcare industry, where he also served on the company's Board of Directors
