Dr. Hayes is an expert in evidence-based health technology assessment of new, emerging, or controversial health technologies. She founded Hayes, Inc. in 1989. Through her business acumen and disciplined focus, Hayes has become one of the most respected health technology assessment organizations in the United States. In response to the explosive growth of internal and external medical review within the healthcare industry, Dr. Hayes formed Hayes Plus, a national Independent Review Organization, in June 1999. She sold the company in October 2005 after it was firmly established in the marketplace. Dr. Hayes serves on the Board of Directors for URAC, the national accrediting body for healthcare organizations. She is also a member of Health Technology Assessment International, Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation, and Vistage (formerly TEC), an international organization of CEOs dedicated to increasing the effectiveness of chief executives and those they influence. In addition, she lectures to managed care organizations and healthcare associations throughout the United States. In November 2000, Dr. Hayes was the recipient of the Women of Distinction Award in the Greater Philadelphia area and was selected as one of "Pennsylvania's Best 50 Women in Business" in April 2001. Both award programs acknowledge the personal and professional achievements of Pennsylvania businesswomen and their contributions to our economy. Dr. Hayes received her BS and MS in Nursing from the University of Maryland and her PhD in Environmental Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University. Her clinical experiences have included work in trauma, critical care, acute care, occupational health, and ambulatory care settings.

Dr. Susan A. Levine is responsible for managing the medical technology assessment program for Hayes. She has extensive experience in the development of evidence-based practice guidelines, coverage policy, and medical technology assessments. Dr. Levine also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Hayes Medical Technology Directory and the Hayes Alert monthly newsletter. Dr. Levine formerly served as Senior Medical Research Analyst and Director of Outsource Contracts for Hayes. Before joining Hayes, Dr. Levine was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. She received an MS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and a PhD in Pharmacology from Cornell University, and completed postgraduate work in the Division of Gastroenterology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she was a member of the faculty and conducted biomedical research. Dr. Levinea s publications include almost two dozen peer-reviewed articles, along with numerous chapters, articles, editorials, and abstracts. Ms. Dietrich has over 25 years experience in the accounting field. She is responsible for the direction, coordination and overall management of the Accounting Department.
