Susan M. Hoisington, Psy.D., L.P., is Executive Director of Hazelden's Mental Health Services. She earned her Master's in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1989, and her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in 1998. She has been employed with Hazelden psychological services since 1989 and has expertise in treating co-occurring disorders, addiction and mental health issues across the full continuum of care. She is the former training director for the APA-accredited psychology pre-doctoral internship program and an adjunct associate faculty member of the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies.

Davis Shryer is a student-intern from the Hazelden Foundation. Davis is studying at Hazelden for his Master's Degree in Addiction Counseling. He is a 3rd semester student, planning to graduate in Spring '09. Davis lives in White Bear Lake and has two teenage daughters Maja and Hannah, both high school students. He also has a new golden retriever puppy named "Rufus". He grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1982 and the Minnesota Paralegal Institute in 1986. He has worked in various jobs, including truck driver, bookstore manager, and human resources professional. Davis has been in recovery from chemical dependency for 24 years. His mother died from alcoholism two years ago, and it was a gift from her estate that allowed him to return to school to pursue his passion in Chemical Dependancy (CD) Counseling.

Director of Butler Center for Research, based in Center City, Minnesota. Valerie Slaymaker, Ph.D., L.P. is Director of the Butler Center for Research. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1999, and completed her bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth with honors.
