NexMed is an innovative drug developer that is leveraging its proprietary NexACT drug delivery technology to produce a host of new medical treatments. NexMed's drugs address a variety of health conditions, such as nail fungus, sexual disorders and more. NexMed offers large pharmaceutical companies the opportunity to incorporate NexACT into their existing drugs, allowing these companies to save considerably on R&D costs while developing new patient-friendly transdermal products and extending patent lifespans and brand equity. NexMed has also made significant strides with its proprietary anti-fungal drug, NM10060. In September of 2005, the Company announced a partnership with Novartis International Pharmaceutical Ltd. for licensing and marketing NM10060. Other leading treatments under development include Alprox-TD for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and Femprox, a topical cream cure for female sexual dysfunction. Richard J. Ms. Liu was appointed to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in June 2007, at which time she was elected to the Board of Directors for a three-year term. Ms. Liu served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from June 2006 to June 2007, and as Secretary since 1995. Ms. Liu served as our Vice President of Corporate Affairs from September 1995 until December 2005, Acting Chief Executive Officer from December 2005 until January 2006, Chief Financial Officer from January 2004 until December 2005, Acting Chief Financial Officer from 1999 to January 2004 and Treasurer from September 1995 through December 2005. Arthur D. Emil, Esq. has serves as a director since April 15, 2005. Mr. Emil has been a practicing attorney in New York City for over fifty years, including with Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, from 1994 to 2003 and with Jones Day Reavis & Pogue prior to that. David S. Tierney, M.D. has served as a member of our board of directors since October 2002.
