Dr. Gaby, an expert in nutritional therapies, is the contributing medical editor of the Townsend Letter for Doctors and past-president of the American Holistic Medical Association. He served as a member of the Ad-Hoc Advisory Panel of the National Institutes of Health Office of Alternative Medicine. He is author of Preventing and Reversing Osteoporosis (Prima Lifestyles, 1994) and B6: The Natural Healer (Keats, 1987). He is co-author of The Patient's Book of Natural Healing (Prima Lifestyles, 1999), The Natural Pharmacy (Three Rivers Press, 1999), and the A-Z Guide to Drug-Herb-Vitamin Interactions (Three Rivers Press, 1999). Dr. Gaby has conducted nutritional seminars for physicians and has collected over 30,000 scientific papers related to the field of nutritional and natural medicine. A former professor at Bastyr University of Natural Health Sciences, in Kenmore, Washington, where he served as the Endowed Professor of Nutrition, Dr. Gaby is the Chief Medical Editor for Healthnotes, Inc. Dr. Sexton has served as the medical director of the CARES Program at St. Luke's Children's Hospital in Boise, Idaho, since May 2004. Dr. Sexton is a pediatrician who has devoted most of his career to teaching. In 1994, he joined the Family Practice Residency Program in Boise, Idaho, where he was director of Pediatric Education. Dr. Sexton was named Faculty of the Year 1995 1996 and 1998 1999 by the residency program. He has served as an associate medical director for Healthwise, Incorporated, since 1997.

Dr. Volkmar is a professor of child psychiatry and a professor of pediatrics and psychology at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He is also the Irving B. Harris Professor of Child Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Psychology at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven.

Dr. Appleton is a licensed naturopathic physician, writer, and educator in the field of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine. He received his bachelor's degree from Reed College and his doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM). Dr. Appleton completed a residency at Bastyr University of Natural Health Sciences, where he was also on faculty as an adjunct professor of orthopedics and clinical medicine. He has had private practices in Washington, Vermont, and Oregon, and has also worked in the nutritional supplement industry as a director of scientific and regulatory affairs. Dr. Appleton is currently Chair of the Nutrition department at NCNM. He has been a regular contributor to several Healthnotes publications, including Healthnotes Newswire, Healthnotes, Clinical Essentials, and Quick!Reference.

Mark and his wife Patti moved to Hendricks County from Evansville in April of 2003. He has been attending the Bible Church of Brownsburg since arriving in central Indiana. Mark has served as an elder at the Bible Church since January of 2005. He is employed by Hendricks Regional Health where he serves as Director of Pharmacy. Mark and Patti have two children, Jennifer (Jayson) and Jessica, and three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emelia and Eva.

Dr. Mark Schopper, M.D., Medical Director, has over ten years experience as a Family Practice Physician and has been with Hendricks Regional Health since 2000. He received his Bachelor of Science from Notre Dame University and is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. All of the Advocate Hospice staff share many years of experience in the healthcare field and a passion for providing excellent hospice care to our patients.

Mr. Foster has worked as an author, photographer, and consultant specializing in medicinal and aromatic plants. He has written 13 books on herbs, including A Field Guide to Medicinal Plants (with Dr. James A. Duke) (Houghton Mifflin's Peterson Series, 2000), Herbs for Your Health (Interweave Press, 1996), and Echinacea-Nature's Immune Enhancer (Healing Arts Press, 1991). In addition to providing photographs to Healthnotes, he has contributed to The Herb Companion, Herbs for Health, and HerbalGram magazines.

Ms. Messina specializes in vegetarian nutrition and has served as a senior editor of a vegetarian nutrition newsletter published by Loma Linda University. She coauthored two popular books on nutrition: The Vegetarian Way (Crown Books, 1996) and The Simple Soybean and Your Health (Avery Publishers, 1994); the first textbook on vegetarian nutrition, The Dietitians' Guide to Vegetarian Diets (Aspen Publishers, 1996); and three cookbooks.

Dr. Duncan is a certified classical homeopath and chiropractic physician. She is the author of Your Healthy Child: A Guide to Natural Healthcare (Jeremy P Tarcher, 1990; Sanicula, 1995), a co-author of The Natural Pharmacy (Three Rivers Press, 1999), and former editor of the professional homeopathic journal, Simillimum.

Ms. Angell oversees the workflow for creating and updating Healthnotes content as well as the Healthnotes Newswire and Healthnotes Newsletter. She has been the managing editor at two Internet-based companies, a nonfiction book editor for Beyond Words Publishing, and an assistant editor at Simon & Schuster. She holds two master's degrees: a liberal studies degree from Reed College and a children's literature degree from Simmons College.

Dr. Rick Chester is a naturopathic physician, homeopath, acupuncturist, and pharmacist. He received his Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine degree from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1992 and his Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Oriental Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Oregon State University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon. Dr. Chester taught pharmacology, geriatric medicine, pulmonology, and practice management at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe Arizona. Dr. Chester is also a writer and Science Editor for Healthnotes, a consumer-oriented alternative medicine resource.
