Graduate of Midwestern State University with a BAAS in management. Began career in investment castings with Howmet, Wichita Falls, Texas in 1981. Held numerous manufacturing, engineering and business management positions focusing on lean manufacturing principles. In 1999, moved to Montreal, Canada as Business Center Manager for Howmet Aluminum, tasked with coordinating the design, construction and operation of Howmet's newest casting facility. This facility fully utilized all of the latest manufacturing techniques. October 1999, moved to Lecreusot, France as general manager. Products ranged from simple equiax aerospace through large industrial gas turbine components. October 2000, moved to Exeter, England as general manager of the Howmet Exeter manufacturing site. Responsible for the manufacturing of equiax, directionally solidified and single crystal castings, alloy production and the design and construction of an ultra lean ceramic core facility. October 2002, moved to Whitehall, Michigan to serve as site general manager for three manufacturing facilities responsible for production of equiax, directionally solidified and single crystal aerospace castings. March of 2004, was given added responsibility for Howmet's central ceramic core facility located in Morristown, Tennessee. April 2005, became director of manufacturing and general manager of Howmet adding Howmet's Mexican operation in Aluna, Mexico. Joined Hitchiner, June 1, 2005 as vice president and general manager and in October 2005 assumed the position of vice president, U.S. Operations. Appointed president in January 2008.

Mr. Zachos is a partner in the law firm of Sheehan, Phinney, Bass & Green Manchester. He served as a White House Fellow in 1965-1966 as a special assistant to Attorney General Nicholas D Katzenbach and in the NH House of Representatives from 1969 through 1974, where he was chairman of the Judiciary Committee, majority leader and deputy speaker. In 1994, he was named "Business Leader of the Year" by Business New Hampshire magazine and the NH Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The Business and Industry Association awarded him its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000. He is a director of Hitchiner Manufacturing Company, a trustee and president of the board of the Currier Gallery of Art, a trustee of Southern New Hampshire University, a trustee of endowment funds for Havenwood Retirement Community, and a trustee of trust funds of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
