Appointed to the Board as Finance Director on 27 March 1998. He is a Chartered Accountant, having trained and qualified with Coopers & Lybrand in London. Mr Bright joined HMV in August 1996 as Group Finance Director from its parent company, Thorn EMI plc, where he was Group Planning Manager.

Lynn is Assistant Manager of Waterstone's at Manchester Airport. The energy and enthusiasm Lynn brings to her role are recognised through her recent Bookseller of the Year award.

Christopher Rogers was appointed to the Board on 1 October 2006. He is Group Finance Director of Whitbread plc, having been appointed in May 2005. Previously he was Group Finance Director of Woolworths Group plc and Chairman of the Woolworths Group Entertainment and Wholesale Publishing businesses. He qualified as an accountant with Price Waterhouse and joined Kingfisher Group as Corporate Finance Manager in 1988. Subsequent appointments included Group Financial Controller at Kingfisher plc and Finance Director and Commercial Director of Comet Group plc. Mr Rogers is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of each of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

Appointed senior independent Non-Executive Director in June 2004, he is also chairman of the company’s audit committee. Previously he was Chief Financial Officer of Cadbury Schweppes plc where he had been a main board director responsible for finance since 1995. He is also Non-Executive Director of Shire Pharmaceuticals Group plc and HMV Group plc, and was seven years on the board of Camelot Group plc. Born 1947.

Philip Rowley joined the board in January 2005. He is Chairman of AOL Europe, the interactive services, web brands, internet technologies and e-commerce provider. He is a qualified chartered accountant and was Group Finance Director of Kingfisher plc from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that his roles included Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of EMI Music Worldwide.
