Trevor Baca is VP of software engineering at Jaduka and oversees software engineering, real-time systems engineering, telephony services development, information architecture, usability, and user-experience engineering teams. He has ten years' experience in telephony and software development and has held senior leadership roles in software development, systems engineering, strategy, product development, and human-computer interaction. Baca also holds a similar title at NetworkIP, the parent company of Jaduka, and a leading platform provider in prepaid telephony since 1998. At NetworkIP, he led research and development of the second-generation Kodiak services platform. He was instrumental in bringing both metrics-based and user-centered development to the product life cycles of the different parts of the Jaduka technology portfolio. Baca also researched and directed the development of the NetworkIP iQT realtime QoS analysis and correction system, covered in US 6,914,967. Earlier in his career, Baca worked at Simplified Development Corporation as director of systems engineering and oversaw the development of Simplified Ventana , one of the first telephony provisioning systems developed through extensive user modeling and user-experience engineering. He led the development and internationalization of the Simplified Open Services Platform, together with the deployment and integration of the platform in North America, Europe, and the Pacific Rim. He also conducted the research and implementation of the switching and protocol modeling technologies collected in US 6,292,554. Baca received a B.A. in the honors program from the University of Texas.

Allison Randal: Randal is the chief architect and lead developer of the open source project Parrot, on the board of directors of the Perl Foundation, chairman of the Parrot Foundation, and founder and president of Onyx Neon Press. She also works for O'Reilly Media as chair of its annual Open Source Convention (OSCON).

Ben Lorica is the Senior Analyst in the Market Research Group at O'Reilly Media, Inc.. He has applied Business Intelligence, Data Mining and Statistical Analysis in a variety of settings including Direct Marketing, Consumer and Market Research, Targeted Advertising, Text Mining, and Financial Engineering. His background includes stints with an investment management company, internet startups, and financial services. At O'Reilly, Ben works on custom research and consulting projects, open source data warehousing and analytics. An ex-academic, he was an Assistant Professor at U.C. Davis and was the founding Department Chair for Statistics and Mathematics at C.S.U. Monterey Bay.

Andy Oram is an editor at O'Reilly Media, a highly respected book publisher and technology information provider. An employee of the company since 1992, Andy currently specializes in free software and open source technologies. His work for O'Reilly includes the first books ever released by a U.S. publisher on Linux and the 2001 title Peer-to-Peer. His modest programming and system administration skills are mostly self-taught.

In this capacity, Mark oversees the O'Reilly Network, and the company's conferences, research and digital books initiatives. He also oversees the company's strategic investments and partnerships. Prior to joining O'Reilly, Mark was the manager of business affairs for Colossal Pictures, a partner in the law firm of Mandel, Buder and Jacobsen (now MBVLaw LLC), and an associate at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. He clerked for a Ninth Circuit appellate judge after he graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. Mark has a B.A. degree from St. Olaf College.
