Scott McKinley, Senior Project Manager at Sprint Nextel and close friend, went home to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, August 31, 2006. Scott had a great impact on my professional and personal life in the 6 years we got to know each other. Scott shared with me after his first go around of intense radiation and chemotherapy the radical approach to cancer treatment he underwent at the Cleveland Clinic. He shared how his treatment in attempting to killing off his cancer cells, was to bring him to a near-death experience to only then bring him back cancer free. The saying: "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" was lived out daily in Scott's life- at the work place, at home, at play. Scott in this life had his share of "the shadow of death" experiences, but he ALWAYS came out an OVERCOMER; a winner. Scott then translated his victory a thousand times by allowing those around him to be empowered by the principles he learned himself. Scott's strength somehow was magnetic. His belief and faith in those around him superseded the "impossible" and transformed result after result, to then become the "possible" and the achieved. Scott never gave up on anything. Simply put, his belief in pushing past difficulties inspired others to perform at their utmost.
