Fran has around 20 years research, analysis and consulting experience, working primarily in the fields of security and enterprise business applications. She has advised both technology vendors and end-user organisations on technology evaluation and positioning, strategy, business intelligence and competitive analysis. Recently, Fran acted as a judge for the 2006 SIIA Codie awards, judging the best digital rights management, best enterprise security and best security technology categories. Fran is based in the Netherlands. Prior to joining Hurwitz & Associates, Fran has spent the past six years working as a technology analyst, focusing primarily on security and business enterprise applications. This has included time spent with Bloor Research, a partner of Hurwitz & Associates. During the 1990s, Fran consulted for KPMG for a four-year stretch, working in the systems integration and risk management practices. Prior to that, she spent several years in the Far East, four years of which were spent with the Economist Intelligence Unit in Hong Kong, where she set up and managed a worldwide publications unit analysing emerging economies and market sectors. Fran has also worked in the advertising industry in Japan, with a particular focus on music technologies. Fran is also a regular contributor to IT-Analysis and Faulkner Information Services' Security Management Practices, focusing on both physical and IT security. Fran holds a BA with honours from University College London.
