Sam Palmisano is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the IBM Corporation. Mr. Palmisano was appointed to this position on January 6, 2003. Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer. He began his career in 1973 in Baltimore, Maryland. Since then, Mr. Palmisano has held a series of leadership positions during his IBM career, including senior vice president for the Enterprise Systems and Personal Systems groups. Mr. Palmisano also played a key role in creating and leading IBM’s Global Services, rising to senior vice president, and building the largest and most diversified IT services organization in the industry. He also served as senior managing director of operations for IBM Japan.
Mr. Palmisano is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University. In recognition of his leadership role as co-chair of the Council of Competitiveness’ National Innovation Initiative, as well as his many business accomplishments, Mr. Palmisano was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in September 2005. In July 2006, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the London Business School.

One of the Fortune 1000's first chief privacy officers, Harriet has since the year 2000 been responsible for IBM's global information policies and practices affecting more than 320,000 employees and tens of thousands of clients and individuals. She is known for pushing the envelope and setting progressive corporate policies and practices that build trust in areas as diverse as health care and genetics to RFID and international data flows. As regulatory policy leader for IBM, a new role, Harriet leads the development and execution of a proactive regulatory and policy strategy across IBM’s legal function. Harriet reports to IBM’s SVP Legal and Regulatory Affairs & General Counsel. Harriet has been a member of IBM’s senior leadership team of approximately 300 executives, appointed by the Chairman and CEO, since late 2000.
Harriet holds an appointment as Adjunct Lecturer in Georgetown University’s Communication, Culture & Technology Master’s program, where she teaches a seminar on Trust, Privacy & Security. She is a Board member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Center for Information Policy Leadership, and the Anatolia College (a private American K-thru-college school in Greece).
From 2002 until 1Q 2007, she also held executive positions in IBM’s Communications and Human Resources groups, leading initiatives such as the redesign of the company’s global performance management system; the launch of the company’s alumni relations strategy and portal; and the development and execution of global communications campaigns on IBM’s engagement in societal issues such as healthcare and energy. From 1993 until her appointment as Chief Privacy Officer in 2000, Harriet held increasingly responsible roles in the company’s Governmental Programs group, culminating in her first executive role as Director of Public Affairs in 1997. In that group she was responsible for global public policy issue management in a broad range of areas including privacy, health care, labor law, telecommunications, environment and energy.
Before joining IBM in 1993, Harriet practiced environmental law with the firm now known as Bracewell & Guiliani in Washington, D.C. and worked in the Gulf of Mexico as an engineer with Shell Oil in New Orleans. She holds a J.D. (Order of the Coif) from the UCLA School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law & Policy. She graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E. cum laude; at Princeton she was the CEO of Travel 101, the campus travel agency and at the time one of the school’s largest student-run businesses. She was admitted to the bars in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Harriet works out of IBM’s Washington, D.C. office and Armonk, NY headquarters. She lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and two school-age children. She speaks frequently to business, government and other audiences and sings with the DC-based, 100-woman Potomac Harmony Chorus. A first-generation American, Harriet speaks Greek fluently.

Mark J. Hennessy is vice president and chief information officer for IBM. He assumed this role in July 2007 and is responsible for global integration initiatives and technology operations.
In his tenure at IBM, Mr. Hennessy has held a diverse series of sales, marketing, and general management positions. Before his current post, he was general manager, Global Distribution Sector, where he was responsible for IBM's sales, strategy, marketing, and solutions for the retail, consumer packaged goods, travel and transportation industries.
From 2001 to 2004 he was vice president, Distribution Channels Management. In 1999, he became vice president, Systems Sales, Asia Pacific, responsible for the sale of IBM's servers, storage, networking and printer products throughout 22 countries in Asia. Mr. Hennessy joined IBM in 1981 as a client representative. He held various management posts until 1996 when he was promoted to vice president, Midwestern Area Operations.
A graduate of Boston College, Mr. Hennessy earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1980. In 1990, he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Mark Loughridge was named IBM Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in May 2004. He is a member of IBM's Performance Team and Corporate Operations Team. Mr. Loughridge was previously Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Financing, where he led the world's largest information technology financing and asset management organization. Prior to that role, Mr. Loughridge served as Vice President and IBM Controller; Vice President of Finance and Planning for IBM Global Services; Vice President of Finance for Sales and Distribution; and Vice President of Finance for the IBM Personal Systems Group.
Since joining IBM in 1977 as a development engineer, Mr. Loughridge has held various management positions in finance, strategic planning and engineering including manager of financial services for IBM's lab in Hursley, England.
Mr. Loughridge earned a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and operations from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. He also completed studies at Ecole Nationale Superieure de Mecanique in Nantes, France.

Randy MacDonald joined IBM in 2000 as senior vice president, Human Resources. In this position he is responsible for the global human resources practices, policies and operations of the organization and reports to Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Sam Palmisano.
Prior to joining IBM, Mr. MacDonald was the executive vice president of Human Resources and Administration for GTE (now Verizon Communications).
Mr. MacDonald was with GTE for 17 years, holding positions of increasing responsibility. Before joining GTE, he held human resources positions at Ingersoll-Rand Company and Sterling Drug, Inc.
For his contributions to the HR practice throughout his career, including HR-related research and education, Mr. MacDonald received the first Distinguished Human Resource Executive Award from the Academy of Management in 2004. In 2008,
Mr. MacDonald was named Human Resource Executive Magazine's “HR Executive of the Year.”
He is a member and past chair of Cornell University's Center for Advanced Human Resources Study and a past chair of the Personnel Roundtable. He is also a member of the HR Policy Association, which he serves as Chairman of its Board of Directors.
In 1998, Mr. MacDonald was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources, the human resource profession's highest honor for outstanding achievement. He was elected to the Academy's Board of Directors in 2000 and serves as its Vice Chair.
He also was a member of the President’s Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Health Care Industry.
Mr. MacDonald has a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in industrial relations from St. Francis University and is a member of its Board of Trustees; he received the St. Francis University Distinguished Alumni in Business Award in 1999. Mr. MacDonald also serves as a Trustee of Bucknell University. He also is a former member of the Board of Directors of Covance.

Linda Sanford leads the strategy for IBM’s internal transformation to the industry’s premier on demand business. In this role, Ms. Sanford is responsible for working across IBM to transform core business processes, create an IT infrastructure to support those processes, and help create a culture that recognizes the value that on demand leadership can bring to IBM.
Previously Ms. Sanford was Senior Vice President & Group Executive, IBM Storage Systems Group, where she helped take IBM from fifth place in storage market share to second in two years. Prior to assuming that position, Ms. Sanford headed IBM Global Industries, the organization that manages relationships with IBM's largest customers worldwide and is responsible for generating almost 70 percent of IBM's revenue.
Before that, Ms. Sanford was General Manager of IBM's S/390 Division, which develops, manufactures and markets large-enterprise systems. During the early 1990s, she guided the S/390 Division through one of the most comprehensive product transformations the computer industry has ever seen, reinventing S/390 as an open, enterprise-level server.
One of the highest-ranking women at IBM, Ms. Sanford is a member of the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame and the National Academy of Engineering. She has been named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Business by Fortune Magazine, one of the Top Ten Innovators in the Technology Industry by Information Week Magazine, and one of the Ten Most Influential Women in Technology by Working Woman Magazine.
Ms. Sanford is the chairman of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for New York City, ITT Industries, St. John's University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Ms. Sanford co-authored “Let Go To Grow: Escaping the Commodity Trap” a book that details how successful companies are pursuing strategies to drive long-term growth and innovation. The book was published by Prentice Hall in December 2005.
A graduate of St. John's University, Ms. Sanford earned an M.S. in Operations Research from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Michael (Mike) E. Daniels is senior vice president of IBM Global Technology Services, a unit of IBM Global Services. He oversees the go-to-market and business line management for IBM's offerings in strategic outsourcing, integrated technology services, small-and-medium business services, maintenance, and IBM Global Financing. He assumed his current position in July 2005.
Previously, Mike was general manager of IBM's sales and distribution operations in the Americas, spanning Canada, Latin America and the United States. For more than three years, he oversaw sales and support of the full range of IBM's products and services, generating more than $40 billion in annual revenue.
Mike also led IBM Global Services in the Asia Pacific region from October 1999 to January 2002. From 1994 to 1999, he held several general manager positions within IBM's services business.
After joining IBM in 1976 in Washington, DC, Mike held a broad range of leadership positions in sales, marketing and services.

Bob Weber is IBM’s senior vice president, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, and general counsel. He joined IBM in January 2006 and reports to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Sam Palmisano. Bob is responsible for IBM’s global legal, security, privacy and compliance activities and policies, as well as IBM’s Government Programs and Environmental Affairs functions.
Prior to joining IBM, Bob practiced law in Cleveland, Ohio for more than 29 years. In private practice he represented many substantial international businesses, including IBM, in highly visible and complex controversies. While in private practice, Bob was listed in The Best Lawyers in America, The Chambers Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and was recognized on two separate occasions by The National Law Journal for having tried a case selected as one of the top ten defense verdicts of the year.
Bob is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is also a member of the American Law Institute and the Council for the United States and Italy, and sits on the boards of the Pro Bono Partnership and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. In 1995-96, he served as President of the Cleveland Bar Association, and established the Bar Association’s Juvenile Justice Initiative, a project for which he and the Cleveland Bar received the Ohio State Bar Association’s highest award for public service. He is a former treasurer and trustee of United Way Services of Cleveland.
Bob is a graduate of Yale College (1972) and Duke Law School (1976), and is a member of the New York and Ohio bars.

Rod Adkins leads all of IBM’s global server and storage systems hardware and software development. He also leads the microelectronics business which includes semiconductor process technology development and semiconductor manufacturing operations for microprocessors and application specific integrated circuits used by IBM and its OEM clients.
Mr. Adkins has held a number of product development, business operations and general management positions since joining IBM in 1981. He has experience in Printers, Personal Computers, Servers, Storage and Software. Mr. Adkins has served as General Manager for Desktop Systems in Personal Systems Group; for UNIX systems in Server Group; and for Pervasive Computing in Software Group.
As a member of IBM's Performance and Technology Teams and the Board of Governors for the IBM Academy of Technology, Mr. Adkins helps drive IBM’s corporate and technical direction. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), Executive Leadership Council (ELC), and National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Mr. Adkins has been recognized as a leader in information technology – the 2007 Black Engineer of the Year, Top Blacks in Technology since 2004, and Professional Achievement in Industry in 1996. In 2002, Fortune magazine named Mr. Adkins one of the 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in America. He also earned the Golden Torch Award for Lifetime Achievement in Industry from NSBE in 2001.
Mr. Adkins earned a B.A. degree with emphasis in Physics from Rollins College as well as B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Steve Mills is a senior vice president and group executive, IBM Software Group. In this capacity he is responsible for directing the development, marketing, sales and support of IBM's software portfolio. Mr. Mills is a member of IBM’s Operating Team, Performance Team, Values & Integration Team and the Asian Task Force.
IBM's software business contributes $20B of IBM's revenue and 40% of its profits. IBM's industry leading middleware products provide critical business integration infrastructure that powers more than 100,000 enterprises around the world.
Mr. Mills is leading the next phase of IBM's software strategy. During his tenure, the software business has grown to more than 50,000 employees including 25,000 software developers and 15,000 sales and technical support personnel in over 150 countries. IBM has added more than 50 acquired companies to its software business since the year 2000, creating the industry's largest business software portfolio.
A graduate of New York’s Union College, Mills joined IBM in 1974 as a sales trainee in New York City and was a marketing representative until 1980. In 1981, he joined the business planning staff of the Data Processing Division and became manager of that function a year later. In 1984, he was named administrative assistant to the IBM vice president and assistant group executive of Plans and Controls in the Information Systems Group.
He became director of planning in the Information Systems and Communications Group in 1985. In 1986, he was one of the executives responsible for starting IBM’s Publishing Systems Business Unit. He became director of Financial Planning at Corporate Headquarters in 1988.
He joined the Programming Systems line of business in 1989 as Programming Systems director of Operations. He was named assistant general manager, Finance and Planning, for that organization in December 1990, and in December 1992 became general manager of the division’s Santa Teresa Laboratory. In 1993 he became general manager of IBM’s Software Solutions Division. Mr. Mills has played a leading role in the growth of IBM Software Group since its inception in 1995. At that time, he was general manager of IBM Software Group Strategy and Solutions, responsible for IBM’s strategy for middleware and software solutions, as well as managing business units for Business Intelligence Solutions, Pervasive Computing, e-Commerce Solutions and Solution Technologies. He was named to his present position in 2000.

Daniel D. Frye, vice president - IBM Open Systems Development, is the head of IBM’s UNIX development team, principally responsible for Linux and AIX development. Dr. Frye is additionally responsible for overseeing IBM’s Linux technical strategy and IBM’s participation in the open source Linux development community.
The mission of the IBM Linux development team – the IBM Linux Technology Center (LTC) – is to help the global open source Linux community make Linux better, to ensure enterprise-level Linux support for IBM’s hardware, software, and services brands, and to help expand the reach of Linux into new markets. LTC engineers are trusted, valued members of dozens of open source communities and contribute broadly to open source in many respects. AIX is the industry’s leading enterprise UNIX solution and is used by thousands of customers running mission-critical workloads around the world.
Prior to his current responsibilities, Dr. Frye was a member of IBM’s Emerging Technologies and Business Opportunities team where he worked on company-wide technical strategies that predicted future trends and transitions in the IT industry. It was during this time that Dr. Frye co-authored the original IBM corporate strategies for Linux and open source. Dr. Frye sits on the board of the Open Source Development Laboratory (OSDL) and participates in a variety of other Linux and open source industry groups.
Dr. Frye has an M.A. in Physics from The Johns Hopkins University (1982) and a B.A. in Physics from the University of Idaho (1979). He also received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Atomic Physics from The Johns Hopkins University (1985).

Dr. Nicholas (Nick) Bowen is the Vice President of Technology, reporting to Linda Sanford, Senior Vice President, Enterprise On Demand Transformation & Information Technology. Dr. Bowen is responsible for driving the Technology Team topics, assessments and studies that shape the technology strategy and business opportunities for IBM. These are linked to the Corporate Technical Milestones, which set and track IBM's technology commitments and progress. He has leadership roles in the Technical Leadership Team, and Technical Review Team. At the same time, he has responsibility for managing the corporate nomination, selection and evaluation processes for employees to be named IBM Fellow or Distinguished Engineer, in addition to determining what technical contributions warrant a Corporate Award. Another key responsibility Dr. Bowen has is overseeing of the annual Corporate Technical Recognition Event.
Prior to his current position, in January 2007, he was appointed Vice President of Technical Strategy and Worldwide operations for IBM’s Research Division which include driving the creation of the Global Technology Outlook, leading the worldwide operations and I/S teams, and driving the research strategy, plan and measurement processes.
Prior to that role current position, Nick held several executive positions within the IBM Systems & Technology Group (STG) including: vice president, software development, with responsibility for all server operating systems (zOS, AIX, i5OS, zVM, VSE, Linux), firmware development for IBM Systems z, i, p, and x, management software (IBM Systems Director) and hardware management systems (HMC, FSP); chief technology officer and vice president of software architecture for the same group of products; vice president of UNIX and IBM xSeries software for the server division with responsibility for driving eServers into growth markets for UNIX, Linux, Windows, GRID, and High Performance Computing where he was responsible for delivering leadership management solutions for key emerging technologies such as BladeCenter and Linux Clusters; and vice president of xSeries software and performance, responsible for all software development, performance, and hardware service processor development for xSeries, including responsibility for the IBM Center for Microsoft Technologies in Kirkland, Washington.
Prior to his positions with STG, he was with IBM Research. Nick was director of computing utilities, where he spearheaded the definition of the "intelligent infrastructure" research program, and he was director of servers with worldwide responsibility for the Research programs in servers. This group had many exploratory system projects in addition to making contributions to AIX, OS/390, AS/400, and xSeries servers as well as many products within the IBM Software Group. He made technical contributions to the S/390 Parallel Sysplex effort and led several of the OS/390 initiatives to embrace Internet and object technologies.
He joined IBM at East Fishkill, New York where he worked in a datacenter and learned the trials and tribulations of maintaining a 24x7 datacenter. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM. His research interests are operating systems and fault-tolerant computing.
Nick’s career with IBM spans over 25 years and he has expertise in high availability, memory management, and parallel processing. He received the B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Vermont, a M.S. degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University, and the Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a member of Association of Computer Machinery. He served on the Computer Science Advisory Boards of Florida International University and North Carolina State University and helped found the Computer Science Advisory Board at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. His research interests are operating systems and fault-tolerant computing.

Edward Bevan is vice president, communications, IBM Research. In this capacity, he oversees all activities that drive the strategic positioning of the Research division, including media and analyst relations, as well as internal and executive communications.
Ed has spearheaded programs designed to align Research with the changing needs of the corporation, including its innovation initiatives and its more direct interactions with the marketplace. He was a leader of IBM's 2004 Global Innovation Outlook and the division's 2002 Autonomic Computing Manifesto, and was also instrumental in the launch and subsequent evolution of On Demand Innovation Services, IBM Research's consulting center. Ed continues to work with members of IBM's innovation board and corporate staff on programs that advance IBM's abilities as a leader in innovation. One such program -- Innovation Days - was a week-long series of events across the global Research division that helped stimulate a more creative approach to innovation and work.
Before joining IBM, Ed was a business and technical writer, and also an executive in the ophthalmic lens manufacturing industry. He holds an MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College, and a BA in literature and writing from SUNY.

Curtis Tearte is general manager, Storage, IBM Systems and Technology Group. Mr. Tearte also gained expertise and knowledge through leadership positions he held in several other business units, including vice president of the Communications Sector for IBM Americas, general manager of the Customer Financing Unit in IBM Global Financing, vice president of Distribution Industry for IBM Americas, and general manager for IBM Global Utilities and Energy Services. Erich Clementi was named General Manager of Enterprise Initiatives in October 2008. Prior to that, he was General Manager of Business Systems Division in IBM's Systems and Technology Group where he was responsible for providing small and medium-sized businesses with systems and storage solutions. Erich provided direction to a global organization, including strategy, marketing, sales and the development of integrated solutions based on IBM's hardware, software and services offerings.
In recent years, Erich was the general manager of IBM’s Managed Business Process Services division, serving clients who wished to optimize and run their business processes through a worldwide network of IBM global delivery centers. In 2007, Managed Business Process Services was one of the fastest growing business units in IBM.
Between 2003 through the end of 2005, Erich was the general manager of IBM’s System z division. Under his leadership, the System z team created and executed the Mainframe Charter, a vision for the mainframe’s future and commitment to customer investment protection and value.
From 1999 through 2003, Erich held several leadership roles in corporate strategy, marketing and sales. Prior to his position in corporate strategy, he ran enterprise system sales across the 130 countries that comprise Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He oversaw the marketing and sales of IBM’s entire hardware line, including IBM’s server computers as well as printers, storage devices, networking components and microelectronic products.
Throughout the 1990s, Erich directed IBM sales and marketing operations for banking and financial accounts throughout Europe. He was director, Finance Sector, for IBM Europe’s Central region, headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany after previously heading sales and marketing for IBM’s key banking operations in Central Europe and Russia, as well as in Milan, Italy.
Joining IBM in Milan in 1984, Erich held a variety of technical and sales-professional positions in Italy and the South Tyrol region. He is Chairman of the IBM Germany Supervisory Boards, a member of IBM’s Performance Team and Innovations & Values Team. In this role he oversaw IBM's IP portfolio of more than 39,000 patents and more than $1 billion in annual revenue, and directed the development of standards-based solutions to accelerate open innovation.
Jim previously served as general manager of Linux where he led the transformation of Linux from an emerging opportunity to a multi-billion dollar business encompassing IBM’s server, software and services business units. In addition to his leadership advancing the worldwide adoption of Linux, he directed IBM’s Strategic Growth business unit, overseeing the delivery of integrated solutions that leverage innovative technologies such as: grid computing, deep computing and virtualization technology, to further enable on-demand business transformation.
Jim has more than 23 years of experience in the information technology industry, including leadership roles in business management, strategy and innovation. Rich Hume was appointed general manager of IBM Global Business Partners on May 1, 2008. He is responsible for leading the organization that supports IBM’s approximately 100,000 Business Partners, which drive more than 30 percent of the company’s sales revenue.
Rich brings to this new assignment a successful track record of business and operational leadership, as well as a keen understanding of distribution channel dynamics.
In his previous assignment, Rich was general manager of IBM's multi-billion dollar, x86-based System x server division. In that role, he reinvented the x86 supply chain to optimize inventory and profitability for IBM and its Business Partners.
Prior to this position, he was general manager, Operations, IBM Global Business Solutions, where he managed the global business processes that support delivery of IBM’s consulting services to more than140,000 consultants and professionals. Rich led a significant transformational effort that improved the division’s profit by $400 million.
In 2005, Rich served as general manager of ibm.com. In this role he directed its worldwide TeleWeb organization of 4,000 telephone- and Web-based sales professionals, whose mission is to deliver fast, easy access to IBM’s products and business expertise. During Rich’s tenure, ibm.com reached $10.6 billion in revenue and established new standards for lead generation across all of IBM’s sales channels.
From 2002 to 2004, Rich was vice president of IBM’s $5 billion Personal Computing Division in the Americas, responsible for sales, marketing, finance and operations. Under Rich’s leadership, the Americas division was transformed to a profitable IBM business after several years of operating at a loss. Rich was also a member of the senior leadership team that returned the global Personal Computer Division to a profit.
After joining IBM in 1984, Rich held a series of management and executive posts. He is a member of IBM’s Performance Team and Integration and Values Team, IBM’s worldwide senior leadership councils.
Rich is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Pennsylvania State University. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children.

Ross A. Mauri is responsible for IBM's Power Systems business, which addresses a worldwide market in excess of $30 billion. The Power Systems portfolio spans all IBM systems based on industry-leading Power Architecture, including POWER5+, POWER6 and Cell microprocessors. Power Systems servers support the AIX, i5/OS and Linux operating environments and lead all competitors in the UNIX server market. Blue Gene is the world’s fastest supercomputer system and holds three of the top 10 rankings in the worldwide TOP500 Supercomputer list.
Since joining IBM in 1980, Mr. Mauri has held various management positions in programming, design, development, quality assurance and marketing. In 1993, he was appointed director of the Paris-based Client/Server Computing unit overseeing strategy in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and later served as general manager of Software Marketing for EMEA. In 1995, Mr. Mauri was appointed technical assistant to IBM's Chairman and CEO. He held several executive positions in the S/390 mainframe business, including hardware development, marketing, solutions and strategy, and led the development and marketing of IBM's UNIX and Linux initiatives. In 2003, he became vice president, development, IBM Systems Group, leading a global organization responsible for IBM's industry-leading server and storage platforms.
Mr. Mauri is a member of the IBM corporate Performance Team and Integration & Values Team, and serves on the board of governors of the IBM Academy of Technology.
He is a sponsor and participant in many diversity and next generation leadership initiatives with organizations across the IT industry, including Women in Technology, Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. In 2002, he conceived and launched a new external diversity program, Men Understanding Science and Technology, to help black and Hispanic male high school and middle school students increase their math and science skills. Mr. Mauri earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer mathematics from Marist College and serves on the Marist College Board of Trustees.

In July of 2000 Steve was named to vice president, Linux Sales & Marketing, where he was responsible for developing and executing IBM's go-to-market strategies for Linux. In April of 2002 he was named general manager, Linux.
In December of 2002, Steve was appointed transition executive to oversee the acquisition and integration of Rational into IBM.
In July of 2003, Steve returned to the IBM Americas organization as vice president, Software. He was named general manager, IBM Global General Business in July of 2005.

Dr. John E. Kelly III is IBM senior vice president and director of Research. In this job he directs the worldwide operations of IBM Research, with 3,200 technical employees at eight laboratories in six countries around the world, and helps guide IBM’s overall technical strategy.
Dr. Kelly’s top priority as head of IBM Research is to stimulate innovation in key areas and quickly bring those innovations into the marketplace to sustain and grow IBM’s existing business, and to create the new businesses of IBM’s future. IBM applies these innovations to help our clients succeed.
Dr. Kelly also leads IBM’s worldwide intellectual property business as well as the company’s open source and open standards strategies and practices.
Prior to beginning his current assignment in July of 2007, Dr. Kelly was senior vice president of Technology and Intellectual Property, responsible for IBM’s technical and innovation strategies.
In 2000, Dr. Kelly was group executive for IBM’s Technology Group, where he was responsible for developing, manufacturing and marketing IBM’s microelectronics technologies, products and services.
Dr. Kelly joined IBM in 1980. Between 1980 and 1990, he held numerous management and technical positions related to the development and manufacturing of IBM’s advanced semiconductor technologies. In 1990, he was named director of IBM’s Semiconductor Research and Development Center. In 1994, he was appointed vice president of business process reengineering for the Microelectronics Division.
In 1995, he was named vice president of systems, technology and science for the IBM Research Division. In this role, Dr. Kelly was responsible for the company’s most advanced research activities. The following year, he was named vice president of strategy, technology and operations for the Microelectronics Division. In 1997, he was appointed vice president of server development (from work stations to supercomputers) for IBM. In January of 1999, he was appointed general manager of IBM’s Microelectronics Division, a position he held until August 2000.
Dr. Kelly received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Union College in 1976. He received a Master of Science degree in physics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1978 and his Doctorate in materials engineering from RPI in 1980. In 2004, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from The Graduate School at Union College.
Dr. Kelly is on the Board of Governors of The IBM Academy of Technology; a board member and former chairman of the Semiconductor Industry Association; a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and on The Board of Trustees of Union College.

Jon Iwata leads IBM’s marketing, communications and citizenship organization. Robert W. Moffat, Jr. is senior vice president and group executive, IBM Systems and Technology Group. Named to this position in July 2008, Mr. Moffat is responsible for all IBM hardware offerings as well as the microelectronics division, which translates IBM research and development into semiconductor solutions for IBM systems and OEM clients. In addition, the company’s integrated supply chain operations, which include global manufacturing, procurement and customer fulfillment, report to him.
Mr. Moffat was senior vice president, Integrated Operations. In this cross-functional role created in July 2005, he led an initiative to transform and integrate the company’s supply chain and service delivery operations globally, leveraging new business process designs and advanced technology to achieve greater levels of efficiency while improving IBM's market responsiveness.
Prior to that, Mr. Moffat was senior vice president and group executive of IBM's Personal and Printing Systems Group, where he was responsible for worldwide sales, development, manufacturing and marketing of Personal Computers, Printing Systems and Retail Store Solutions. Before that, he was vice president, finance and planning for the Enterprise Systems Group.
Mr. Moffat has held a number of executive positions at IBM, including general manager of manufacturing, fulfillment and procurement initiatives for the PC business. He led the team that pioneered the Advanced Fulfillment Initiative, and channel collaboration initiatives, which were awarded the 1999 Franz Edelman Award, the highest recognition for achievement in operational research and management sciences, and supply chain management.
His other positions at IBM, since joining in 1978, included assistant general manager, finance, planning, and business support for the IBM PC Company in Europe, and vice president of finance and planning.
Mr. Moffat is a member of the IBM Performance Team and the IBM Corporate Operations Team. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for The Manufacturing Institute, an educational and research affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers. He is also a non-voting observer on the Board of Directors of Lenovo Group Limited.

Before joining IBM services, Ms. Rometty was general manager of IBM's Global Insurance and Financial Services Sector, where she led IBM's business strategy for the worldwide insurance marketplace, with responsibility for marketing, sales and consulting. She also supervised the operations of IBM's Insurance Research Centers in Hawthorne, N.Y., Zurich, Switzerland and Yamato, Japan, and was in charge of IBM's insurance solutions development worldwide.
Ms. Rometty reports to the IBM Chairman, and serves on his global Performance Team and IBM's Integration and Values Team. She is also a member of IBM's Operations team. She is a leader in diversity initiatives, including the Women in Technology Council and the Women's Leadership Council, and is one of the senior sponsors of the Women's Executive Council at IBM. She is a frequent speaker at industry and business conferences, the recipient of the Carl Sloane Award 2006, given by the Association of Management Consulting Firms, and was named to Fortune magazine's “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008, and Forbes magazine’s 2008 listing of the “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women”.
Ms. Rometty serves on the Board of Directors of APQC, a not-for-profit business research organization serving global companies.
Before joining IBM, Ms. Rometty was with General Motors Corporation. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in computer science and electrical engineering from Northwestern University.

Dr. Irving Wladawsky-Berger is Chairman Emeritus of the IBM Academy of Technology, and Visiting Professor of Engineering Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Prior to retiring from IBM in June, 2007, Dr. Wladawsky-Berger was responsible for identifying emerging technologies and marketplace developments critical to the future of the IT industry, and organizing appropriate activities in and outside IBM in order to capitalize on them.
In his emeritus role with the IBM Academy, he will continue to participate in a number of technical strategy and innovation initiatives. At MIT, he is involved in multi-disciplinary research and teaching activities focused on how information technologies are helping transform business organizations and the institutions of society.
Dr. Wladawsky-Berger's role in IBM’s response to emerging technologies began in December 1995 when he was charged with formulating the company's Internet strategy, and with developing and bringing to market leading-edge Internet technologies that could be integrated into IBM’s mainstream business.
He has led a number of IBM’s companywide initiatives including Linux, IBM’s Next Generation Internet efforts and its work on Grid computing.
He began his IBM career in 1970 at the Company's Thomas J. Watson Research Center where he started technology transfer programs to move the innovations of computer science from IBM’s research labs into its product divisions. After joining IBM’s product development organization in 1985, he continued his efforts to bring advanced technologies to the marketplace, leading IBM’s initiatives in supercomputing and parallel computing including the transformation of IBM’s large commercial systems to parallel architectures.
He has managed a number of IBM's businesses, including the large systems software and the UNIX systems divisions.
Dr. Wladawsky-Berger is Adjunct Professor in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group at the Imperial College Business School. He is a member of the Technology Advisory Council for BP International and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
He was co-chair of President Clinton's Information Technology Advisory Committee, and served as a member of the University of Chicago Board of Governors for Argonne National Laboratories. He was also a founding member of the Computer Sciences and Telecommunications Board of the National Research Council.
A native of Cuba, he was named the 2001 Hispanic Engineer of the Year.
Dr. Wladawsky-Berger received an M.S. and a Ph. D. in physics from the University of Chicago.

Jim Owens is chairman and chief executive officer of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. After joining the company in 1972 as a corporate economist, he has held numerous management positions.
Owens was named chief economist of Caterpillar Overseas S.A. in Geneva, Switzerland in 1975. From 1980 until 1987 he held managerial positions in Peoria in the Accounting and Product Source Planning Departments. In 1987, Owens became managing director of P.T. Natra Raya, Caterpillar's joint venture in Indonesia. He held that position until 1990 when he was elected a corporate vice president and named president of Solar Turbines Incorporated, a Caterpillar subsidiary in San Diego. In 1993 he came to Peoria as vice president and chief financial officer with administrative responsibility for the Corporate Services Division.

Mr. Chenault joined the company in September 1981 as Director of Strategic Planning. He was named President of the Consumer Card Group in 1989, and in 1993 he became President of Travel Related Services (TRS), which encompassed all of American Express' card and travel businesses in the United States. In 1995, he assumed additional responsibility for the company's worldwide card and travel businesses and also was named Vice Chairman of American Express. Mr. Chenault became President and Chief Operating Officer in February 1997. He assumed his current responsibilities as CEO on January 1, 2001, and as Chairman on April 23 of that year.
Before he came to American Express, Mr. Chenault was a management consultant with Bain & Co. from 1979 to 1981, and an attorney with Rogers & Wells from 1977 to 1979.
Mr. Chenault serves on the boards of American Express and several other corporate and nonprofit organizations, including IBM, the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health, the National Center on Addiction & Substance Abuse at Columbia University, the Smithsonian Institution's Advisory Council for the National Museum of African American History & Culture, the Phoenix House Foundation and the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation. He also is on the boards of the Partnership for New York City, The Business Council and the Business Roundtable and serves as Vice Chairman of each of these organizations.
A wide variety of civic, social service and community organizations have recognized Mr. Chenault for his public service leadership. He has received the Phoenix House Public Service Award, the Corporate Responsibility Award from the International Rescue Committee and the Wall Street Rising Leadership Award, among others. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Mr. Chenault holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA in history from Bowdoin College, and he has received a number of honorary degrees.
He and his wife, Kathryn, live in New York with their two children.

Dr. Jackson, age 62, has served as a director of NYSE Euronext and its predecessors since November 2003. Dr. Jackson is also the chairperson of the board of directors of NYSE Regulation and serves on the Board of Governors of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Taizo Nishimuro, 73
is chairman of the board of the Tokyo Stock Exchange Group, Inc. He is a member of IBM's Directors and Corporate Governance Committee. Mr. Nishimuro became chairman of the board of the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) in June 2005. He also concurrently served the TSE as president and chief executive officer from December 2005 to June 2007. Mr. Nishimuro assumed his current position with the Tokyo Stock Exchange Group, Inc. in June 2007. Mr. Nishimuro also acts as an adviser to the board of Toshiba Corporation. He was president and chief executive officer of Toshiba Corporation between 1996 and 2000 and subsequently served as chairman of Toshiba between 2000 and 2005.
