After leaving university with a Ph.D in Biochemistry, Frank joined Imperial Tobacco in 1977 as a management trainee. He has held various senior roles during his years with the company and was appointed Operations Director of Imperial Tobacco's cigar business in 1990. One of his main achievements within this role was to transform the operation into one of the world's lowest cost and most efficient cigar manufacturers, opening a new state-of-the-art factory in Bristol in 1992. He went on to become Managing Director, Cigar in 1996. In October 1997 Frank was appointed Managing Director of Imperial Tobacco's roll-your-own business, assuming responsibility for the company's acquisition and integration of the Van Nelle tobacco business in 1998. He was appointed Business Development Director of Imperial Tobacco in February 2000, responsible for overseas operations and developments. He was instrumental in negotiations for Imperial Tobacco's euro 5.8 billion acquisition of Reemtsma in May 2002.

Appointed to the Board in October 2005, Graham is responsible for the Group's entire global sales and marketing activities across Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, and Australia and New Zealand. He has worked for Imperial Tobacco for 38 years and during that time has held a number of senior sales and marketing positions, including Managing Director UK and Regional Director for Western Europe.

Appointed a Non-Executive Director in December 2004. She was a member of the Board of Littlewoods Limited from October 1998 until January 2004, latterly as Chief Executive of Littlewoods Stores Limited. Prior to joining Littlewoods she was worldwide President and Chief Executive of The Pierre Smirnoff Company, part of Diageo plc.

Bob Dyrbus was appointed Finance Director of Imperial Tobacco Limited in 1989 and was one of the three-man Hanson team involved in the strategic reorganisation of Imperial Tobacco.

Colin Day is Group Chief Financial Officer (since 2005) and Director of Reckitt Benckiser. Colin Day started his career in 1973 as a trainee accountant at Kodak. A year later he joined British Gas, where he worked as an internal audit, management and project accountant for five years.

Appointed Company Secretary in October 2004, Matthew joined Imperial Tobacco's legal department in 2000 having previously worked for the law firms Linklaters and Burges Salmon. He was closely involved in negotiations for Imperial Tobacco's acquisitions of Tobaccor and Reemtsma.

Appointed to the Board in October 2007. Susan was a member of the Board of Littlewoods Limited from October 1998 until January 2004, latterly as Chief Executive of Littlewoods Stores Limited. Prior to that she was Worldwide President and Chief Executive of The Pierre Smirnoff Company, part of Diageo plc. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, council member of the Advertising Standards Authority and non executive director of Enterprise Inns Plc, SSL International PLC, Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC and Imperial Tobacco PLC.

Appointed Vice Chairman on demerger. Anthony also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Platinum Investment Trust plc and is a former Non-Executive Director of Misys plc. He is also a former Executive Director of Hanson PLC and as Chief Operating Officer he had responsibility for all their UK operating companies.
