Its primary product offering is memory chips, specifically dynamic random-access memory -- DRAM used for computers and electronc equipment. Usage of the company's products spans computer systems, telecommunications systems, consumer goods, automotive products, industrial automation and control systems, and chip card applications. The company employs over 36,400 people and has revenue of $8.1 billion. It was formerly owned by Siemens which currently owns about 18%.

born June 22, 1960 in Munich, Germany married, 2 children Peter Bauer successfully completed his engineering degree at the Technical University in Munich in 1986 and then began his professional career in the Semiconductor Division at Siemens AG. He initially worked as a development engineer in the field of microcontrollers and subsequently assumed a number of different positions in marketing. Among other tasks, he was given responsibility for the worldwide marketing of Automotive & Industrial Integrated Circuits, before he became General Manager of Chipcard and ID-System ICs. In 1996 Peter Bauer took over the post of Vice President and General Manager of Siemens Semiconductor Microcontroller ICs. In the same year he was promoted to President of the division which comprised the Chipcard & ID System ICs, Wireless Baseband ICs and Microcontrollers business units. He was also responsible for the worldwide Sales and Application Engineering from 1997 until 1999, and was appointed to the post of President and CEO of Siemens Microelectronics, Inc. in Cupertino, America in 1998. After the founding of Infineon Technologies AG, Peter Bauer became Member of the Board in 1999, first responsible for worldwide Sales and Marketing and following he was head of the Automotive, Industrial and Multimarket Business Group and responsible for Central Sales Functions. Since June 1, 2008 Peter Bauer is CEO of Infineon Technologies AG.

Dr. Marco Schroter, born in Bottrop, Germany, in 1963, was awarded the degree of "Diplom-Kaufmann" following studies of Business Administration at the University of Munster and initially worked as a research assistant in the Faculty of Organization, Personnel and Information Management at Saarland University. From 1991 to 1993, he was Director of the Economic Science Department at the Europe Institute of Saarland University. After he was awarded a doctorate in 1994, he joined the Corporate Planning unit of Stinnes AG in Mulheim, where he was appointed head of the "Systems" department in the Central Controlling unit in 1995. In 1998, he took charge of Central Controlling in the Stinnes Group. As of 1 January 2003, Dr. Marco Schroter joined the Board of Schenker AG, Essen, as Chief Financial Officer.

Until 1999 Professor Eul was General Manager of the Digital TeleCom and Data Com ICs operations at Siemens. When Infineon was formed, he took over the Wireless Baseband and Systems Business Group as Vice President and General Manager. From 2001 to 2002 he was responsible for Security & Chip Card ICs operations as Chief Executive Officer. In 2003 he was appointed as full Professor and Head of Faculty Chair for RF-Technology and Radio-Systems at the Hanover University. In 2004 he returned to Infineon where he first managed the Wireline Communications business group as Senior Vice President and General Manager and then, following the reorganization, he became the Group Vice President and General Manager of the Communication Solutions business group. Professor Eul studied electrical engineering and has a doctorate and professorate in engineering. Prof. Dr. Hermann Eul became a member of the Management Board in July 2005. He is responsible for Sales, Marketing, Technology and Reasearch & Development.
