ING Group

Tom McInerney was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ING Group on 25 April 2006. He is responsible for Insurance Americas, ING Investment Management Americas and the global coordination of ING Investment Management. In 1978, Mr. McInerney started his career with Aetna, which was acquired by ING in 2000.

Jacques de Vaucleroy was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ING Group on 25 April 2006. He is responsible for Insurance Europe and ING Investment Management Europe. In 1986, Mr. de Vaucleroy started his career with Bank Brussels Lambert, which was acquired by ING in 1998.

Joan Spero was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board on 22 April 2008. She is President of Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Mrs. Spero is former Executive Vice-President Corporate Affairs and Communications of American Express Company and former Under Secretary Economic Business & Agricultural Affairs, US State Department. Mrs. Spero is a member of the Remuneration Committee and of the Nomination Committee. Harish Manwani is an honours graduate from Mumbai University and has a master's degree in management studies. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. He joined Hindustan Unilever (HUL) in 1976, becoming a member of the HUL board in 1995 as Director responsible for the Personal Products business. As category leader for Personal Products, he also held regional responsibility for the Central Asia and Middle East business group. In 2000, he moved to the UK as Senior Vice President, Global Hair Care and Oral Care and in 2001 was appointed President, Home and Personal Care, Latin America. He also served as chairman of Unilever’s Latin America Advisory Council. In 2004, he was appointed president and CEO, HPC North America and in April 2005 joined the Unilever Executive as President, Asia Africa. He is also non-executive Chairman of Hindustan Unilever, a member of the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business and serves on the Supervisory Board of ING Groep NV. In 2008, he received the CNBC Asia Business Leader of the Year Award. Harish is married and has two daughters. He spends his leisure time with his family and enjoys playing golf and an occasional game of bridge.

Koos Timmermans was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ING Group on 24 April 2007. He is also chief risk officer. Mr Timmermans started his career with ING in 1996.

Dick Harryvan was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ING Group on 25 April 2006. He is responsible for ING Direct. Mr. Harryvan started his career with ING in 1979

Eli Leenaars was appointed member of the Executive Board of ING Group in April 2004. He is responsible for Retail Banking (the Netherlands, Belgium, South-West Europe, Poland and India). He is also in charge of Operations/IT and private banking. Mr. Leenaars began his career with ING Bank in 1991 and later held various management positions, including chairman of ING Poland and of ING Latin America.

As of 26 January 2009, Eric Boyer de la Giroday, member of the Executive Board since 2004, is acting CEO until Jan Hommen can formally take over after the annual General Meeting (AGM). This meeting is scheduled for 27 April 2009. Eric Boyer was appointed member of the Executive Board in April 2004. He is responsible for Wholesale Banking and ING Real Estate. Mr. Boyer began his ING career with BBL (acquired by ING in 1998) in 1984, where he held various management positions in the fields of capital markets, treasury and corporate and investment banking.

On 26 January 2009, the Supervisory Board announced it had decided to appoint Peter Elverding as successor of Jan Hommen as Chairman of the Supervisory Board effective after the GMS in April 2009. At the ING Shareholders’ meeting in April 2007, Peter Elverding was appointed to the Supervisory Board per 1 August 2007. He was chairman of the Managing Board of Directors of Royal DSM N.V., the Netherlands, until 1 May 2007. Mr. Elverding was vice-chairman of the Supervisory Board of De Nederlandsche Bank N.V. (Dutch Central Bank) until 4 April 2007. Mr. Elverding is a member of the Audit Committee and of the Nomination Committee. Piet Klaver was appointed to the Supervisory Board of ING Group in April 2006. He started his career with SHV as a management trainee at Calpam Denmark. He has been the chairman of the Executive Board of SHV Holdings N.V. since 1998. He retired from this position in May 2006. Eric Bourdais de Charbonnière was appointed to the Supervisory Board in April 2004. He started his career with JP Morgan in 1965 and held various management positions in Paris and New York. He has been chairman of the Supervisory Board of Michelin since 2000, after having been Michelin's Chief Financial Officer for over ten years. Mr. Bourdais is chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Nomination Committee and of the Corporate Governance Committee.
